Download the Smart Life APP

1.Launch the app and tap the Plus ( + ) in the top right corner to add a Water sensor device.

2. Select Add manually, Security & Sensors, then Flood Detector (Wi-Fi)

3.Choose your Wi-Fi network and Enter the password. Then tap Next.

4. IMPORTANT !!! Press and hold the button on the water sensor until the light is SLOWLY blinking (2s/time). Tap the “EZ Mode” on the top right corner, change to “AP Mode”. Select “Confirm indicator slowly blink” at the bottom，tap Next.

5. Tap Go to Connect.

6. Select WLAN on your mobile phone setting.

7. Choose SmartLife-XXXX network in the WLAN setting.

8. Switch back to Smart Life app when WLAN is successfully

9. It will show Adding device on the Smart Life App.

10. Now your Water Sensor is successfully added. Tap Done.

Answer:	A plastic slider is on one side on the tubing. The bad news is that it popped off and I ended up just not putting it back on the tubing to keep it folded. For us, it did not matter and make life easier for us not to have it. Mom has it open and in use or sitting nearby if she is seated. I only close it when I am putting it in or out of the minivan. I lay the rollator flat and not in a standing position. If I had a different vehicle that had to have the rollator in a standing up position yet also closed, then I guess I would have to either replace the slider or use a bunge cord to keep it closed. The rollator is really nice. We love it and would buy it again. It was a good choice for our needs.

However, they now charge $5.99 a month rent to utilize more than 2 monitors for life. You buy the device for $199 and then pay them rent each month to use it forever. (assuming you wish to add a 3rd, 4th or 5th unit to the account as in multiple properties to monitor). Sad as this is a great product and instead of urging customer to buy more, they penalize them and incentivize the customer to NOT buy additional units.
Question:	How small of a leak can it detect? Can it detect a dripping faucet
Answer:	The Monitor can detect flows as low as 0.25gpm on Copper-M, CPVC, and PEX pipes. The lowest it can detect on Copper-L is 0.5gpm. Typically a dripping faucet is too low of a flow rate for the Monitor to detect.

HOW TO CONFIGURE

Download the Smart Life APP

1.Launch the app and tap the Plus ( + ) in the top right corner to add a Water sensor device.

2. Select Add manually, Security & Sensors, then Flood Detector (Wi-Fi)

3.Choose your Wi-Fi network and Enter the password. Then tap Next.

4. IMPORTANT !!! Press and hold the button on the water sensor until the light is SLOWLY blinking (2s/time). Tap the “EZ Mode” on the top right corner, change to “AP Mode”. Select “Confirm indicator slowly blink” at the bottom，tap Next.

5. Tap Go to Connect.

6. Select WLAN on your mobile phone setting.

7. Choose SmartLife-XXXX network in the WLAN setting.

8. Switch back to Smart Life app when WLAN is successfully

9. It will show Adding device on the Smart Life App.

10. Now your Water Sensor is successfully added. Tap Done.

Question:	Some devices with 9v batteries run at 5 volts and the input is 5 volts. Is the input 5 volts or 9 volts
Answer:	I would think that a 9 Volt lithium would be safer than an alkaline. These water detectors are supposed to signal low battery life. But you have to hear it and in fact it has to signal. The extra money for the lithium is worth it. There is no reason not to use lithium.
Question:	OK for septic sump tank? Will the bits of stuff interfere with the sensor? Will it be too caustic

Question:	How much current can the sensors take to turn on something external to the alarm? What voltage is the alarm's input so an external thing won't hute it
Answer:	I have owned my only 1 week. It’s a 9 volt battery and my guess depends on the quality of battery and how often it is triggered or alarm sounding. I would guess that you should test it regularly and replace it when the low battery alarm sounds or 1 year, whichever is shortest.
Question:	Does the float hang by the wire into the water tank or does it have to be secured to something
Answer:	There are 2 small metal nodes that you can see on the outside in the picture. When moisture connects the 2 nodes the alarm sounds. I test these devices with a moistened finger, not much water at all. Very high humidity can trigger them as well, that is, humidity above atmospheric norm.

The Leak Alert WiFi provides a loud audio alert to homeowners, renters, business owners, and property managers alike. Be alerted to water leaks as soon as one is detected.

No Wires. No Hassle.

The Leak Alert has two external metal sensing contacts running a mild electrical current. When both strips get wet, through a plumbing leak, flood, or surrounding moisture condensing on the surface, the electrical circuit will complete, and the alarm will sound.

The Leak Alert detector is not a one-time use device. Each time the sensing contacts make contact with moisture and the alarm sounds, simply dry the contacts. Return the detector to its location or choose a new location as needed.

All that is needed to operate the tool is a fresh 9V alkaline battery with an extended expiration date.

1. Install the Battery

Install a new 9V alkaline battery in your Leak Alert. Just like your smoke detectors, the battery in a Leak Alert should be changed on an annual basis at minimum. For additional security, the unit will chirp if the battery is running low and will float in the event of a flood.

2. Placement

Place a Leak Alert in any location where there is a potential for water damage and flooding such as in the:

3. Respond to Alarm

Lay the Leak Alert flat with the metal contacts facing down and touching the surface. When the Leak Alert's metal sensing contacts come into contact with water, a loud 90 dB alarm sounds for up to 72 hours. The alarm is as loud as your standard smoke detector. In the event of a severe flood, the Leak Alert floats and continues to sound an alarm until the battery is depleted. To minimize property damage, respond to the alarm as quickly as possible.

Question:	Is there any monthly or yearly fee to connect to a service
Answer:	It is hard to silence the alarm unless you make a minor modification in advance. Don't wait until the 130 dB siren is going before you work out how to disable the alarm. I've had it blaring in my ears while I frantically try to open the case to disconnect the battery, only to find that opening it is very difficult, even with the aid of a tool such as a flat-head screwdriver. What I've done since is filed down the locking tabs slightly, just enough that the plastic case still locks but is much easier to open when the alarm sounds, so that the battery can be disconnected. Then you can address the water leak in relative peace.
Question:	I don't see any rope sensors which is bad for covering areas like washers, fridge, and water heaters. Any rope solutions I'm unaware of with this
Answer:	The wire has no gauge markings- printed or imprinted. Comparing the wire side by side with a wire stripper, appears to be 18 gauge and it is definitely stranded copper. It is most assuredly no larger than 18 gauge so I would lean towards 18 to 20. I don’t know your application as to why you would need to extend the original length but I can tell you that the device is really loud when activated - if that helps you any.
