The measurements of the actual inside of the Bread Box is around half an inch less than the external sizes shown in the images on this product page. We use our one to hold rolls and other pastry items as well as a small sliced loaf, but it will fit a large English fresh baked loaf, as in the pictures. Answer:	It appears to be aluminum. It's sturdy and is roomy inside.
Question:	How many normal sized loaves of bread would you say fit in this
Answer:	We have three of the shorter/wider loaves standing upright in ours plus a box of English Muffins on its side. You could probably fit in two of the longer loaves laying flat one on top of the other (maybe even three if the loaf isn't very tall)
Question:	I'm looking for something to store homemade bread while avoiding pastic bags. Would this work for storing without bags

Answer:	That depends almost entirely on the type of bread. My sourdough loaves last, at most, two-days because they lack preservatives.
Question:	What is the material of the white container part? Is it plastic
Answer:	The container portion of this box is made from melamine resin, fire and heat resistant and virtually unbreakable, melamine products are more desirable than most plastic housewares.

Answer:	I put rolls and bread products. Haven’t really put just bread in there.

Answer:	The base portion of this product is dishwasher safe, however the lid is hand wash only.

Answer:	I tried it on sourdough and it tears the bread a bit. I prefer my serrated long steel bread knife.

Answer:	I used it as large egg-in-shell holder in my refrigerator. It worked great. The eggs stayed in place but large eggs will touch each other. I would say that it should fit a whole jumbo egg.
