Yes, first I would mark where I want my holes. Move the guide to get the first 3 punches write down where you set you guide. It will take several times to experiment where the settings should go. If you cannot get the setting you may have to punch some holes with the paper right side up then turn and some holes bottom side up. You answer is yes it can be done. Just make sure to write down you paper guide settings.

I know it’s best to use them under the maximum sheet count, which helps extend the life span of them when in use. The only other issue I can think of is that you got a defective batch, so perhaps you can request an exchange or refund.

Answer:	Put the loop through the tag first. Then take the other end of the loop and feed it through the top loop that you just put through the tag opening. Now pull tight and it will be secured to the tag. Do the same thing with the other end (non-tag side) and place it to the luggage handle or strap. Then feed the secured tag side through the loop and pull it tight. It is now securely attached!

Answer:	It's too late in the day to call Athol. Mass today from the Central Time Zone, but I can tell you this. I am a practicing gunsmith machinist, and the older sets I have seem to have less chromium and vanadium in the alloy, 'cause they stay brighter and seem less prone to bending. This could be though, that they're tempered to a higher temperature. This set is also inscribed with fractional as well as metric sizes and are not accurate, so don't use them as plug gauges. E.G. Inscription is "1/4-6mm", miking reveals 31/128" & 6.12mm and 241.5 thouslandths. Very unlike the Starrett of yesteryear. I know for sure the Krupp foundry was unbolted from German earth and shipped to somewhere in the P.R.C. My last dial caliper had china right on the dial face. Knurling is sharp, and point tips are surface ground, heads are not. My guess is made in China. "1/4"" will stand alone on a pink granite surface plate, but a close look will reveal no lapping. No the old Starrett, but still the best around.

Answer:	The one I have has 4 holes. Two of the holes are spaced about 1/2" from both edges of the paper and the other two holes are 3" in from the center of the first edge holes (or 3 1/2" in from the edge). I hope this helps.
