Elon Green: I’ve always had an aversion to the “blood ’n’ guts” nature of most true crime. Blessedly, I think the genre is shifting away from it, particularly in the work of Sarah Weinman, Pamela Colloff, and David Grann. But my choice to structure the book around their lives was selfish: Their lives were fascinating. Answer:	Thank you for your question. If you purchase Fun Family Chess, you will receive a full color instruction booklet telling you how to play, as well as access to 4 instructional videos and other helpful content. But to summarize, Fun Family Chess is a simplified version of "standard" chess. It reduces some of the complexities of chess and adds a bit of luck (rolling the die) for added fun. To play, each player begins by rolling the die to see which piece they should move. If you can't move that piece, simply roll again. The reference cards help you understand how each piece moves. The objective of the game is to capture your opponent's King (which is simpler than "standard" chess, since the rules for check, etc. do not apply). There are some other small differences as well. The rules for "standard" chess are also included. So once you learn Fun Family Chess, you can take the next step to learn standard chess, and you will have all the pieces needed to play that as well. Answer:	Thanks for your question. No, this set does not come with extra queens. When playing the first, most basic version of Fun Family Chess, pawn promotion is not included in the rules (to keep things simple while learning the game). Once you begin playing "standard chess" and the pawn promotion rule is included, we recommend simply using some other fun, small object in the house as a replacement queen. We've found a lot of kids really enjoy this if some other small fun object is used, such as an army man, etc. Our instructional videos explains more about this. But if you are looking for a set that has extra queens, then this is not for you. Hope that helps!
