| Answer: | We have been using one in Portland Oregon for about six months and have never had any problem with mold or mustiness in any safe we've used over the past 30 years. Today, I opened this safe for the first time in a few months, greeted by the smell of mildew. We do use a small dessicant packet inside, and the average humidity in our home hovers around 45%. We will need to arrange either a better dessicant or a different safe! |

From front to back, the depth is 9 7/8" for the box but including the silver lock cylinder which protrudes out the front add an extra 1/4" so a full 10 1/8". This does not include any space for inserting the key or opening the top of the box which needs additional space as the top swings up. The height of the box when closed is 7 1/4". The outside bottom portion has no cushion and it isn't smooth so it will scratch a desk, nightstand or whatever you place the safe on. |
