Question:	Can it be used only as a freezer
Answer:	No, it only lowers the ice production section below 32 F. Once the ice falls into the bin, it starts to warm up and will eventually melt as the storage section of the ice maker is above 32 F. This is why you have to have permanent drain hookup as some of the ice is always melting. I have used this ice maker for over a year and have been very happy with it as it makes lots of ice and automatically stays full unless you're using it faster than its production rate.
Question:	Is it too noisy for inside the house
Answer:	Ours is inside the house but it is in a downstairs bar area. If it will be in a room you spend a lot of time in you will hear a dull humming of a motor off & on & the water coming in & then the ice falling. Much like an ice maker in your refrigerator in the kitchen . I would say no to “ too noisy” . We are Very happy with ours!
