Answer:	5inches on the side. My 10 lb yorkie loves it. The sides only go down if he lays his whole body across the side. It's a little bit big for him but he snuggles into it at night and brings his blanket along. It's close to a year old and I've thrown it in the washer several times. Still looks great.

Answer:	I just washed our bed and it washed fine. I did not put it in the dryer - hung it to dry and it died over night. My dog loves it! The center does not pop out.

Question:	Does this have a "furry" texture that a dog's nails might get caught on? My dog is a digger and from the owner photos, looks worrisome to me. Thx
Answer:	I don't own this bed, but my dog is a digger/nester too. I've found that if I put a loose blanket in whatever bed she's using, she will dig and arrange the blanket rather than tear up the bed. This has been THE solution for me with her digging and nesting in her beds. She likes the cozy fleece ones. So I wonder if you got your dog this bed and also put a loose little blanket with it, like a cheap 50x60 throw, that might keep any tearing from happening, and those who own it say it's not looped fabric to get nails caught in.

Question:	Anyone explaine the difference in the series numbers of their mats/sleepers, as in 1000, 3000, etc., and whatever they offer? What does it mean
Answer:	The numbers 1000 thru 5000 relate specifically to the dimensions of the dog crates that are sold by the same manufacturer, which is Precision Pet Products. This one is made to exactly fit their Model #4000 crate, which measures just over 35 inches long by 23 inches wide. We have two of these size 4000 crates for our 50# (give or take) Pit Bull mixes and they are of the same or better quality than other crates we have seen that can run twice the price.

Answer:	I have a few of these for my little havanese. They wash beautifully in washing machine and comes out great in the dryer. I still have the original one that I purchased 13 years ago.

Answer:	It's pretty thin - 1/4 to 1/2" thick. But....it is my pups favorite, we have 2 of them. One for the crate and one for a bed that is down stairs. Great during summertime, it doesn't make him too hot.
