If you haven't used one of these before, I'd encourage you to be absolutely certain you have a serious need, and that you're mainly dealing with champagne powder. It's not heavy duty and not meant to last. It's also a space hog in your storage. If you intend to use this occasionally, when the conditions are ideal for it, I'd recommend it - if you're paying $30 or less. If you work in the snow removal business and want to add this to your toolbox, I'd encourage you to find an alternate option. |

| Answer: | The handle is held on by two screws with wing nuts. It is removable, but the handle slides into itself (collaspes) and changes the full storage height from 60 inches down to 42 inches so you do not have to remove it. Also, the whole thing will hang nicely from hooks on the wall. I only got this shovel at the end of last snow season, but it seems to work well and has gotten rave positive reviews from friends in New York who have used it extensively. Good luck with your buying decision. I would recommend it. |

| Answer: | Mine hasn't come off, but WHEN it does I'll buy an inexpensive sheet of galvanized steel at a hardware store, cut a 4" x 20+" strip, fold the strip in half with a steel straightedge and a hammer, carefully drill a few holes (as far from the leading edge as possible) and bolt it into place with small stainless bolts, nuts, and lock washers.
