Answer:	It is dark, but not quite black. It works well and as intended, so I don't think the color matters much, if at all.

Answer:	It is like any other oil. There is no 'shelf life'. I will say this - we live in a remote area of Montana and buy our fire wood by the logging truck-full. We have a Stihl Chain Saw with a 32 inch bar and cut 8 to 10 cords of wood a season. We use this chain oil every year and it not only lubricates, it seems to help the chain to stay sharper longer. It has been awhile since we bought the quart size - we buy it by the gallon now. 'Hope this helps.

Answer:	you can make the mix what ever you want just read the mix instructions

Answer:	I assume you have a 2 cycle trimmer. Read the manual on the correct oil/gas mixture. Most American built trimmers use a 40:1 or 50:1 mixture. 40:1 is 2.6 oz. per gallon. A little less oil if 50:1. Chinese 2 cycle motors still use 25:1 or 20:1 oil mixture. Use 5.1 oz. of oil per gallon of gas for 25:1 or a little more if 20:1 mixture.

Answer:	I use 50:1. That takes 2 oz per gallon so I get 8 gallons per bottle. It is great having the squeeze section so you can precisely measure before filling gas can.

Answer:	It is NOT just 30-weight motor oil. It has a tacky additive to make it stick to the chain rather than flinging off. Motor oil is NOT an interchangeable product for this purpose. One oddity: it IS good for lubing antique spinning wheels, or anything else where the prospect of oil flinging off is present. This would, I think, make it very good for bike chains in that regard, though I am uncertain that it lubricates as well as a use-specific product might. Maybe stir in a little molybdenum disulphide or graphite?

Answer:	Yes certainly. I use it on my Stihl Wood Boss all the time. The oil is just put onto the chain to keep it cool and running smoothly. No special oil is required. I would recommend that you use Stihl brand oil to mix with the gas however.
