This thing slides across the desk like a figure skater. I am thinking of drilling a hole in the backside then filling it with playbox sand in order to possibly add enough weight to allow one handed use (why I bought it).

Answer:	Yes, I think so once someone loads the tape into the dispenser. The "trigger" (white piece under the handle) doesn't require too much pressure. If you squeeze the trigger and release, a 1+1/2" (+/-) piece of tape is cut and ready for you to pull it out of the dispense and use. If you squeeze the trigger and hold, you can place the dispenser nose (it has a roller there) and roll/ to pull it out as long as you wish, then release the trigger and it cuts the tape.
