Question:	What version is the board
Answer:	The newest version of the board is 1.1.5, it does not come with the printer though. Mine came with 1.1.4 which is very similar to the 1.1.3. Creality Sells the 1.1.5 separately right now as the Creality v1.1.5 Silent Main Board. It is $50 bucks and you might find it cheaper but it is a worthwhile upgrade. It has newer stepper drivers that make the stepper motors virtually silent. I can't hear them anymore only the fans now. The board also has thermal runaway enabled and has a boot loader preinstalled so if you wanted to switch to Vanilla Marlin or the TH3D software you could do so very easily. Installing this board and the TH3D software also made adding a BL Touch kit easy.

Question:	What is the physical footprint of this unit
Answer:	The actual base footprint itself requires a flat 12" x 12" surface, however certain parts such as the display panel overhang requiring a bit more space. A roughly 16" wide by about 20" deep space should be about right, although you will want to make sure both the back and front have an additional few inches to spare as the bed does move back and forth during operation. I mount mine on top of a 16" x 18" patio paver block for support and stability. I place the paver block over some dense foam that is cut about 1" in from the block edge (14" x 16"). This gives the printer a platform that helps contribute mass to absorb vibrations as well as offer a bid of noise reduction cause by sound transmission through the base. Placed a few inches from the back wall it also ensures the printer travel area remains clear. There is also YouTube video on using this technique if interested (not mine but I came across it after I came up with the same idea separately).

Answer:	It does come with a very old version of Cura. The lastest version of Cura is what I am using. Just download it from https://ultimaker.com/en/products/ultimaker-cura-software/list. If all you are doing is downloading models and printing this is all you need. If you want to make your own 3D models that complicates things. There are many, many 3d modeling programs and which one to use is a very personal choice and each takes time to learn to use. Blender is free, Sketch-up is also I think. But there are commercial programs that can cost up to a couple of thousand to use. Zbrush, Studio Max, and others. Answer:	My son is 15 and he handpicked this one as a gift. He doesn’t know that I’ve purchased it, but he was very adamant that this was the best one. If the recipient is very technically inclined, I think it would be a great fit. I’ve read tons of reviews and watched several on YouTube. Once it’s properly assembled ( does seem to take some time), then operation is suitable for a beginner (again, must be very technically inclined). My son did request a different type of filament that I also purchased on Amazon, because the included roll isn’t that great. I don’t remember which one I purchased, but it was about 20.00. He also suggested getting or building a table to sit it on, as you should not sit it directly on the floor. He’s making one to put beside his desk, but I’m sure any small table would do. I’m very excited myself to see it in action, but I guess I’ll have to wait until Christmas.

Question:	Having problems with extruder about half-way through each of the first two projects. Advice
Answer:	First make sure you have proper heat. PLA I run at 198C. ABS 245C. Next make sure you have PTFE tube is all the way down to the bottom of the print head. PTFE tube goes about an inch or so down into the print head. If it is not fully in could cause heat creep melting filiment to soon clogging before it gets to the nozzle.

Popular free to download slicing software such as Cura will divide or "slice" the 3D model into thin horizontal layers. A large multitude of previously designed 3D models are readily available on various internet websites for free. The software then creates a code that your printer can read and understand. Basically a set of instructions for the hardware in the printer. Save this "Gcode" file to a microSD card like a normal file. Many profiles are already available for use with the Ender 3 through Cura.

Answer:	Yes. The Dremel 3D software is compatible with both .OBJ and .STL files.
Question:	Does it use a Proprietary filament or can it use any standard 1.75 PLA purchased from Amazon
Answer:	According to Dremel -> The Dremel 3D Idea Builder was designed and optimized for use Dremel PLA filament. Other filament may cause damage to the machine and will void the warranty.That being said because the filament by Dremel was not available at the time I did my review and I ran out of the original dremel filament I did buy replacement filament by 3D Solutech (1.75 PLA 2.2lbs spool) and will confirm it works. The spool does not "lock" into the printer, however it does fit in the spool grooves and still rotates and feeds into the print head with no issues. Just know that going non-dremel brand you may lose your warranty. You could if you wanted to wind filmant onto the dremel spool and get it to "sit/lock" correctly if you are concerned about it. For me it works perfect without locking it in and placing it in the spool groove at the bottom of the printer.

Answer:	The settings to use really depend on the filament you're using and changes even from brand to brand. If you google your question or check 3d printing forums, reddit, etc you should be able to get some helpful info

What is the recommended printing tempature for this filament

Answer:

I had trouble at first with this filiment trying to zero in to the temp. I have discovered (as I'm sure many before me have) the temperature tower which starts at one temperature and then lowers 10 degrees C each level for several levels. This allowed me to see exactly the temp settings for the filament with my particular printer (Ender 3 Pro) it turned out the best for me was to use a 210c with 70c bed for first layer and then reduced to 180c print temp and 60c bed for the remainder of the print. before that I was winding up with extreme stringing causing totally unacceptable prints. I now use the temp tower to rate each filament before first use.

Question:	what is the natural wood % of this filament or is it chips, powder or just pla thar looks like wood
Answer:	The answer to your question is difficult at best since even the manufactures web site doesn't give it's composition, probably for patent protection. I can tell you that it has natural wood fibers mixed with pla. It will look, feel and sand like a wood product. Changing the printing temperature can alter the color, just as if you were up burn a wooden board. I haven't used this product myself so I can't verify its reliability. If I recall others have stated that theirs is a higher concentration of wood to pla.

Answer:	carbon(not fiber) is used as colorant in many products(your car tires mostly) and with a great enough quantity can even be used to make conductive materials(hence a faraday cage to block WIFI). however I highly doubt it would be sufficient enough to cause WIFI interference.

Answer:	Unfortunately I know absolutely nothing about painting. These tools are used for prying pieces off older 3D printers and also cleaning the very hot extruder nozzle. They are certainly not a “quality” item but the knives are fixed to the handle solidly and the steel is flexible on the longer one if that is something you were looking for in painting.

Question:	Are the printed objects clear or translucent
Answer:	If you print a single layer, as with the 'spiral vase' button clicked it will be pretty clear (not perfectly clear). if you have multiple layers, and especially if you have infill which doesn't follow the contours of the print it will be translucent. My prints also vary in the amount of translucence/transparency across the print depending on angle and overhang. It's not a great effect. it IS great for the 'spiral vase' application. I use a Printrbot metal simple, your results might vary from mine. Also not this stuff is pretty brittle, and i've had 3 prints fail because the filament broke on its way to the printhead. possibly my fault, but no other filament has broken on me ever.
Question:	Can I use this on my Dremel 3D printer
Answer:	Technically the filament will work but the spool it comes on is too big to fit inside the Dremel printer. You can always hack your setup to mount the spools outside the case. Why restrict yourself to the Dremel filament. And to add, ithis filament is not particularly "Crystal Clear", and has a yellow tint like most natural (clear) filaments.
