Answer: | The wok can be reseasoned on the stove with oil, pork lard, or in the oven. If you decided to preseason in the oven make sure to remove the handle. We recommend seasoning on the stove with oil as follow: 1. Turn the stove’s exhaust fan on high and/or open the window. Heat the wok and add 1-2 tablespoon oil. The oil should start smoking. 2. Reduce the heat and use a paper towel to spread the oil around the wok with spiral movements for about 5-10 minutes. 3. Let the wok cool. 4. Wipe the excess oil with a paper towel. Answer: | Please follow the following steps to prepare your wok: 1. Vigorously wash both sides of the wok with hot soapy water, using a scrubber. 2. Dry the wok with paper towels, which may turn grey or black. This means there is still some residue and protective oil left. Please repeat the first step and dry until there is no more residue. 3. Before you start cooking your first meal, it is highly recommended to season the wok. This will help create a non-stick patina and remove any metallic taste. Please follow steps below: - Turn the stove’s exhaust fan on high and/or open the window. Heat the wok and add 1-2 tablespoon oil. The oil should start smoking. - Reduce the heat and use a paper towel to spread the oil around the wok with spiral movements for about 5-10 minutes. - Let the wok cool. - Wipe the excess oil with a paper towel. Answer: | The wok itself is made of black carbon steel and has no coating. The black color comes from the surface-hardening process during steel production and is one kind of iron oxides. The composition is 99% iron and rests 1% are other minerals including carbon. So it has no chemicals. Meantime it is covered with a thin layer of protective anti-rust oil and has some residue after the production process. It should be washed well to make sure it is clean before use. Season and Maintain
1. Cleaning: Wash the oil on the wok with detergent before cooking.
2. Dry: Dry the water inside and outside the wok with a dry cloth
3. Oiling: Put it on a heat source to heat it and use a fat pork or cooking oil to clean the wok inside.
4. Place: Place it for two hours before cooking.
5. Wash out every day after use, burn dry, and fill the inner wok with oil within one month.
6. No water left in the wok after use beyond one month. Precautions
7. After daily normal use, it is not recommended to wash the wok with detergent and steel balls in the early stage.
8. Do not stew or cook in the early stage.

Answer: | I've never tried it, but it has a wooden handle that I don't believe would be undamaged in a hot oven. I seasoned mine over a hot gas cooktop olling it back and forth, around and around to keep the oil on all sides - letting it sit without doing that, the oil just puddles in the very center. so seasoning in the oven is probably not the best option. |

Answer: | Dont remove handle screws. I think handle is a potential design flaw. Two small wood screws holding all that weight in a hot environment. My handle started to loosen day 1. Wood screws in wood cant be perpetually retightened. Eventually the soft wood holes arent going to be able to hols screws tight. Seeminly huge design flaw in an otherwise well-crafted wok. So I wouldnt intentionally remove/loosen the screws any more than I had to. |
Question: | After seasoning the wok the wooden handle became loose. The screws only spin in place and don't actually tighten any more. Any suggestions |
Answer: | Sometime it happens because of low air humidity (comparing to where it was made). Firstly, try to put wet towel onto wooden part of handle for a night. If not helps then the option is to unscrew it, put for example small pieces of paper to holes to tighten the connection. Then screw it again. Usually it works. |
