Answer:	I don't know. I have a little Salton machine. On my Salton, the base is higher than the last one, so it just fits under the basket. It came without a lid, but I had the lid from the broken one. I would have plenty of room without the lid. I figured, for the cost, I could take the chance that it would work.

Answer:	I have no idea about the Mr. Coffee espresso machine.....mine is an older model DeLonghi so I just took a chance on this carafe. I did save my top/lid to the carafe I broke and it did fit this new carafe like they stated. The only difference I found was that it’s a little shorter than my original one so it doesn’t quite snug up to the machine; however, I’m using it just fine.

Answer:	Doing so could be risky. There are too many variables. Depends upon temperature i.e. how much glass surface is exposed to the heat and for how long, if the glass is filled with liquid or not, and how the glass is cooled afterward. I doubt the glass is tempered for extreme temperature changes.

Answer:	Filled up to the line marked "4" is 8 ounces. (The "2" line is 4 ounces.) We use this to make a single or double espresso. If you go over the metal band, you can get another 3 or 4 ounces. I measured with water and a measuring cup, so you must remember crema takes up some of that space.

Answer:	I’m a Barista. The trick to extra foam is to airate the milk for longer. You should start with your want touching the bottom of the cup of milk, start the steam. Bring the wand to the top of the cup to where only the tip is in the milk. It will be fluffing up the surface of the milk. For lattes, you should do it for 3-5 seconds. For cappuccino... 6-8 seconds. This is how I do it at home and at work.

Answer:	49mm is the correct answer although 50mm is not that much bigger. I've had this machine for years and made my own tamper (I'm a metal guy) and I made mine a slightly irregular 1-7/8" which is around 49mm. FYI 1"=25.4mm...the conversion is not nearly as hard as people think, but understanding fractions and decimal equivalents to fractions helps. The rest of the world went to metric to make it simple so they wouldn't have to tax their minds with complicated stuff like that! American craftsman can calculate it all!..We're just too expensive so once we figure it out we use Chinese slave labor for the actual work!You dont need a tamper to fit exactly. If you only want a small amount of grounds you need a tamper to go close to the bottom which is narrower than the top. I almost NEVER fill mine totally full...especially for one cup.Also, the suggestion of "using a vitamin bottle" is useless as far as dimensions are concerned, but that person is correct that you can use any flat object to tamp with. I just now, as an example, grabbed a prescription pill vial of my wife's...and guess what...it measures 1-7/8" exactly on the bottom!You dont have to spend anything if you are creative and observant. But some people just like that cool looking tamper...an empty pill vial just wont go with the kitchen style!

Answer:	In addition to Randy B.'s CommentOne of the Most Important features/ changes to the 870 is the ThermoCoil Change, as the 860 had a Bolt together two Halfs with a seal sandwiched in between the two halfs this was a Possible failure point and could Leak down the road. I have seen reports of the thermo Block of the 860 leaking, But the new 870 uses a ThermoCoil, it is a Full length of Stainless Steel tubing (the water only comes in contact with the stainless steel) that coils around a few times nothing is Bolted together as the tubing is one continuous length to eliminate Leaks, and is surrounded by Aluminum, this alum houses the heater and makes for Fast heating up, for steaming and cooling down to 200 degrees for pulling the shot, so temps are more precise than before. This New ThermoCoil is a big Improvement over the 860 model. I saw a cut away version of both the 860 thermo block and the 870 thermoCoil the 870 is a much better design and should last a long time, as long as you don't run it out of water and burn it up. • Install the Bean Hopper onto the unit and turn clockwise (several rotations-will hear clicking as unit gets tighter) until it stops with the grind size indicator on Fine.

Question:	Does the grinder shut off automatically
Answer:	Barata makes two versions of grinders: this one has a stainless steel conical burr, which is optimized for fine through coarse grinds, but perhaps not as fine as you would like for espresso. The ceramic flat burr is optimized for espresso, and may not adjust as well as you would like for coarser grinds like French press. I believe either can be used for a medium grind. It may be possible to get both for the same grinder, but I’m not sure about that.
Question:	Does the hopper keep the beans fresh? Is it air tight
Answer:	The status light only blink for the first 10 seconds or so after a status change and go off until you change function again. So you never have that continuous blinking light.
Question:	Is the grinder hands free
Answer:	The Ear bud from outside body to ear tip with a medium size ear tip on it is 1". The Ear Bud body itself is 0.5" Depth x 1" diameter x 5/8 " diameter as it is ovular. The charging case is 1.75" Height x 3" Length x 1.75" Depth.
