I do know, however, that if you've ever been to Maine where this product is manufactured, there are no lack of hardwood trees. If you live in a dwelling that contains any wood products, I bet you didn't inquire as to whether or not they were "ethically sourced." Just saying, you will love this rolling pin and cherish it for a lifetime.

In 1971, brothers Wayne and Earl Fletcher had a vision of owning a business, so on a wing and a prayer they mortgaged their homes and took ownership of an antiquated mill that once served as a blacksmith shop. Many of the simpler items which the Fletcher brothers began manufacturing included wooden nickels, tool handles and toy parts, are still being made today.

Question:	is this appropriate for a 3 year old
Answer:	Unless they have improved the design since I purchased mine ( 3 years ago) the answer is NO! I purchased the full size version and the small version. Both cut my hands if they came in contact with the roller while rolling. It rolls great dough but the design is very flawed!

Answer:	Unfortunately it doesn’t say where is made in! So far I have no problems with it.
Question:	What are the handles made of
Answer:	The rolling pin was part of a gift basket I gave some time ago. I don't remember exactly the material of the handles on the rolling pin. I seems to think the handles were coated with a non slip grip material.
Question:	how big from handle to handle is the child size
Answer:	Yes, it is child size. I don't have it with me, it was a gift, so I would say it measures approximately 8" to 10" from tip of one handle to the other handle tip.
