Question:	Will this item support 1440p with 144Hz refresh rate monitors
Answer:	In theory HDMI 2.0 should do 1440p at 144Hz, but I have not tested it with this device. The device claims to support HDMI 2.0. For context, 1440p@144Hz takes about 7% more bandwidth than 4k@60Hz.
Question:	Is there any way to know what input is selected on the device itself? Some have an indicator light for this purpose

Plug-and-forget auto sensing only works correctly for devices that do not output continuous voltage over the HDMI port when turned off. Powering on a device gives it output priority over the other two devices. Output priority is given to the next device on the switch if the current output device is turned off. Devices that require HDCP 2.2 or higher may be incompatible (e.g. Roku 4).

Answer:	I purchased this switch, it states it is an auto-switch. It did not auto switch, recommend you get a Cable Matters version of this switch it does auto switch to the most recent powered on device. To answer you question, Yes I installed a cable matters switch at a friends house with a blu-ray, Fire TV, and Fios Box and it works great.

Answer:	The single end plugs into the hdmi port on your tv and expands your hdmi ports from 1 to 3. It is helpful if your tv only has 1 hdmi port and you are in need of more than 1.

Example: one cable box to 5 TV's. Splits 1:5.Switch/Multiplexer: many inputs to 1 output. Example: 3 HDMI devices to 1 TV input. Allows 3:1.In electronics, a multiplexer (or mux) is a device that selects one of several analog or digital INPUT signals and forwards the selected input into a single line OUTPUT. Since people don't know the correct technical term, they call it a "switch". Close enough.

Answer:	I had both the tv ( cable line) and my Apple TV line connected to it- however there appeared to be like a popping noise when used- so I now just put the lines directly to the tv.
