To find out how big a file you are trying to save, just click on that file to highlight it, then press COMMAND plus the letter I. It will bring up a dialog box with all the information about the file you are trying to save, especially the size. Then, as an added measure, once a certain file is Highlighted, go to VIEW, scroll down to VIEW OPTIONS and check the SIZE box. That will show you in text the size of the files on your desktop. NOW....you say you want to back-up EVERYTHING on your laptop. In that case I would recommend an EXTERNAL HARDDRIVE with at least 1TB, that's TERABITES, of storage capacity. Answer:	I purchased three of these, assuming since they were 3.0, that they would function reasonably fast in a 3.0 port. Unfortunately, I found that not to be the case and, as another reviewer noted, the speed seems to be quite inconsistent. I now use them only for situations where file transfer speed is not critical.

Answer:	Bought 4 of these a few years ago. The back of the package of 2 had "Made in USA" and 2 other ones had "Made in Taiwan". The ones made in USA transferred around 57MB/s and the ones made in Taiwan transferred around 105MB/s. I lost one of them, but the other 3 are working fine transferring files between my laptop and Nvidia Shield.
Question:	I 'm using a Windows 7, I've got 127.2Gb music. I want to buy this flash drive for back up only. Will this work
Answer:	In Windows, it is recognized as a removable drive, but functions as a regular hard drive would. You can even use it as a boot drive assuming your BIOS will allow you to boot from a removable USB drive.

Answer:	I have a 64GB and 128GB. Both are older than 6-months. The 128GB I use every day in my car (music) and they both work great. I would buy them again. Just to help and be as ambiguous as possible - they may be bad. If you don't buy, it would have been a good drive - if you do it might be junk. YMMV.
