12 best pioneer 5 channel amplifiers
Pioneer is a well-known brand in the car audio and electronics industry, and they have a range of 5-channel amplifiers designed to enhance the audio experience in vehicles. These amplifiers are part of the car audio and vehicle electronics category and are popular among enthusiasts who want to improve their in-car sound system. Here are some key features and characteristics of Pioneer 5-channel amplifiers:
Multi-Channel Configuration: 5-channel amplifiers are designed to power multiple speakers and a subwoofer in a car audio system. They typically have five channels: four for powering speakers (front and rear) and one dedicated channel for a subwoofer.
Power Output: Pioneer 5-channel amplifiers vary in power output, but they generally offer a substantial amount of power to drive speakers and subwoofers effectively. The power output is typically measured in watts (W) and can range from 500W to 1200W or more, depending on the model.
Bridgeable Channels: Some Pioneer 5-channel amplifiers have bridgeable channels, which allow you to combine two channels to power a single speaker or subwoofer with increased power output. This can be useful for driving larger or more demanding audio components.
Built-In Features: Pioneer amplifiers often come with various built-in features to enhance the audio experience, such as adjustable crossovers, bass boost, and remote control options. These features allow users to fine-tune the sound to their preferences.
Compatibility: Pioneer 5-channel amplifiers are designed to work well with Pioneer speakers and subwoofers, but they can also be used with other brands of car audio components. It's important to ensure compatibility between the amplifier and your existing or planned audio setup.
Class D Amplification: Many modern Pioneer amplifiers use Class D amplification technology, which is known for its efficiency and compact size. Class D amplifiers produce less heat and are more energy-efficient compared to traditional Class AB amplifiers.
Design and Form Factor: Pioneer amplifiers are typically designed to fit into standard car audio installations. They come in various sizes and form factors to accommodate different installation requirements.
Warranty and Support: Pioneer often provides warranties and customer support for their products, ensuring peace of mind for buyers.
When choosing a Pioneer 5-channel amplifier for your car audio system, it's important to consider factors such as your speaker and subwoofer specifications, power requirements, and your budget. Additionally, consulting with a professional car audio installer can help ensure that you select the right amplifier for your specific needs and vehicle.

- Class A/B Topology - Class ‘A’ amplifiers have enormous amount of current flowing through its output transistors with no audio signal. Class ‘B’ amplifiers have no current flowing through its outputs with no audio signal
- Full Range - With a Full Range amplifier you not only have the option to run your speakers, but also your subwoofers
- Mosfet Power Supply - A MOSFET is an electrical switch that allows the flow of electrical current. It controls the output voltage and current precisely by removing the output current sensing loss & eliminating all secondary feedback circuitry
- Low & High Level Inputs - A low level (RCA) input is measured in voltages. A high level (+/- wire) input is measured in wattages. Both essentially carry signal from your receiver to your amplifier to your speakers
- Variable Bass Boost - With Variable Bass Boost you have the control of exactly how much BASS you want to pump out to your subwoofer(s)
- Bridgeable - Dramatically increase the power output to you speakers and subwoofers by connecting two amplifier channels
User questions & answers
Question: | My receiver has 4 RCA outputs. Can I run the 4 RCA outputs into this amp and run 4 coaxial speakers plus a subwoofer |
Answer: | Yes you can. There is a switch on the amp and it will take the sound from channels 3 and 4, and use it for the subwoofer.. so you dont need a 5th rca cable. |
Question: | What is the RMS |
Answer: | Taken from Google: RMS stands for root mean squared. You use RMS to tell you in part how loud the speakers are going to be, you also you its sensitivity rating.RMS also tells you the most amount of watts that you speaker can handle on a continuous basis. This is the figure you use when looking for an amplifier and powering the speaker.1000w RMS is a lot and i would be very skeptical buying any speaker that says it handles 1000w RMS, most companies that put out a speaker like that inflate their numbers by making the THD level higher so once you turn it up the signal is not clear. Also they will make it 1000w RMS but its sensitivity rating is very low such as under 80db/1w.i know i have two JL subs that are rated at 300 watts RMS each and the 600 watts it puts out is enough to make me go deaf. |
Question: | I have a kicker 10" sub with 4 ohms, but when I hook it up to the amp I get absolutely no sound out of it. The first four channels are running fine |
Answer: | There is a switch near the sub control on the amp.. direct or channel 3-4. If you do not have a sub input the switch should be set to 3-4. So it will get the sound from channels 3-4. . Hope this helped |
Question: | Will this amp be suitable for 2 pairs of Pioneer TS-A6885R Speakers 350W (60W) nominal and TS-SWX251 Subwoofer Power(Nominal)800 W (200 W |
Answer: | It is extremely important to understand Ohms law when choosing speakers. One answer on another question says it is not 2 Ohm stable. They wouldn't make the UL list if it didn't. The fifth channel is 1 channel that is 2 Ohm stable. It can handle 2 single voice coil subs wired in parralel which brings the Ohms down to 2 Ohms. I do not recommend DVC in a mono amp unless the amp is 1 Ohm Stable. If you got 2 DVC subs wired parralel would present a 1 Ohm load to your amp and blow it up. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this amp have a remote volume control? Not a remote level, but a remote volume control |
Answer: | Little, yes. A lot no. I had it on a wooden panel behind my rear seat with my sub box less that a foot away. When I turned up my sub it cut out. Could be due to vibration, not 100% sure. Sub was not powered by this amp. |
Question: | How many watts is the amplifier? And will it be good to power 1 10" subwoofer and 2 6x9s |
Answer: | 100w x 4 channel 4ohm load |
Question: | Es para bocinas o para bajos |
Answer: | I would never recommend using a 4 channel bridgeable amp to push 2 subs, you would under power them. I would suggest buying a mono amp that can push 100-150 percent RMS per sub! |
Question: | What is the rms per channel also would it power four 6x |
Answer: | Yes, you will need the line out converter so the amp can have the musical signal. |

When connected to an OEM receiver or a receiver without RCA output and utilizing speaker level output, the amp automatically senses the input mode and powers up in sync with the receiver.
When connected to an OEM receiver or a receiver without RCA output using speaker wire, the amplifier is turned on at the same time as the receiver. Pioneer's amplifiers automatically detect the input signal and select RCA level or speaker level.
Product description
An amplifier shouldn’t take up too much space, especially in your car. The GM-D8704 might just be what you’re looking for. It combines a 1-Ohm stable circuit, installation flexibility and a superior high-power output. Pioneer’s new extra-efficient Class-D digital amplifiers mark a dramatic improvement in power output capability, yet are 50% smaller than the current GM-Series Class-AB amplifiers. That makes them more versatile in terms of installation as well as performance. To prevent circuit shutdown, Pioneer’s new digital amplifier circuit “Protection Control System” senses its internal temperature and automatically moderates input level accordingly. Stable, durable circuitry lessens the risk of high input power for the unit to achieve 1 Ω connection. This design enhances the flexibility to connect multiple subwoofers to a system. For extra flexibility, variable LPF and HPF make audio frequency more adjustable according to subwoofer characteristics and personal listening preferences. The GM-D8704 LPF and HPF are adjustable from 40 Hz to 500 Hz. What, you DON’T own a Pioneer head unit? Well, we won’t hold it against you. In fact we’ll even help you build onto your system. The GM-D8704’s speaker level inputs allow you to connect your OEM unit (or any unit that doesn’t have the typical RCA-type inputs) without having to buy add-on adapters. So, the install goes faster, you save money, and you’ve got a Pioneer amp in your vehicle.

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this amp power two Pyle 8inch 1600 watt max 800 rms |
Answer: | Yes you can. This would require some wire splicing, a higher gauge wiring for power, and probably a larger battery to ensure peak performance within your car. You will also need to tune them so that they don't interfere with one another (more info can be found on YouTube). |
Question: | I want to use this for 4 coaxial this should be fine if the speakers at 50 watts rms more or less in the rms range of the speakers |
Answer: | I would hope you would have it answered by now. If not, yellow is your power, black is your ground and blue is your remote turn on. If you still need technical assistance the two RCA amp pre outs. The red and the white. Red is your right and white is usually your left. |
Question: | I have a pioneer headunit avh-x1500. i have door speakers in both front and rear doors. will this bypass the eq on headunit |
Answer: | Other than your power, ground having enough power needed, you can split the signal and audio wires. Not sure if you can run just one "bass knob" by splitting it, may have to have two of those mounted. Give it a try and let us know. |
Question: | Will this work on a single pioneer ts-w126m |
Answer: | Install depends on your level of experience, but would be considered basic. You need an amp kit to install it. Because you initiated the question, I can offer you a very aggressive price on this unit. Simply text me at 512-750-8726 for a quote. Thanks!! |
