Answer: Its an emulation system, so not 100% compatible. It does require atari 2600 cartridges, but it doesnt work with paddles or wheels, just joystick based games. If you have a number of 2600 carts that you want to play, i would recommend getting a modded 2600 console that has composite outputs (if your tv has composite inputs) and got that route.

Question: Is this the U.K. version
Answer: It is the UK version. I own both the US and this one. The US version is called the Atari Flashback Portable. There are two versions of the US model, one is referred to as 2017 the other 2018. The main difference being the number of games. The 2017 version has 70 games the 2018 version has 80. The UK version only has 50 and a slightly smaller screen than the US versions. I like the look of the UK version better though. It has that wood grained look of an old Atari console. Amazon did have all three versions for sale if you want to compare them.
