We each have unique qualities to offer to this world and we should be encouraging children to embrace that. We don't want a world where everyone is the same...I think there are plenty of movies out there that show us that is not the way to go. I love that from the very beginning I watched my boys gravitate toward particular toys while my daughter gravitated toward different one's. We didn't train them to do that, they just did it. A dear friend of mine has encouraged her 5 year old daughter to be a boy and it hurts my heart to think that that little girl is being encouraged to be something that she is not. We are being sold on a message that we can choose our gender...what a sham and/or a shame. I for one am not going to buy into what the world is "selling"... my children are too precious to me. |
