I'm looking for a stable Plex Server and in the end compiled my driver own using info from https://unixblogger.com/2016/08/11/how-to-get-your-realtek-rtl8111rtl8168-working-updated-guide/ I downloaded current Realtek r8168 driver and compiled with info from there. Be aware the r-8169 driver will need to be Blacklisted all info is there if you have the nerve. I'm getting a steady file share speeds around 87mB/s to 92mB/s from Windows 10 to Linux Mint Mate 18.3 Plex Server when uploading media.

Do you have another wireless adapter installed and enabled, perhaps a (built-in) adapter on the motherboard? If so, you must disable that adapter first before installing the TP-LINK Archer's driver.

Answer:	I had this as well. The problem is that on my PC, I had 2 WiFi antennas after installing this. The old one that only connected via 2.4ghz and this one. When connecting to the wifi in Windows, I had to first switch to using "WiFi2" using a dropdown window towards the top of all the available wifi signals.

Answer:	You can use a PCIe x1 card, or a PCIe x4 card in a PCIe x16 slot. The first 18 pins are all the same. Think of it as "backwards compatible" The only issue is if you use like an x16 in an x8 slot, it will work it will just run as fast as the x8 can handle.
