Answer:	I don't recall that there is something to fasten it closed. I sent it to my 2 y/o Grand daughter and my daughter says she loves looking at the pictures off and on of her new baby brother. From what I remember, it doesn't need a fastener and the pictures stay in there without slipping or falling out. When inserting the pictures, there were a couple that I had to trim a little on the corners to make the pages fit nice & smooth and that was no big deal. I had been looking for something along this line and I was glad I found it cos its really cute!
