Answer:	If your truck was built before 1999, then a lot of trucks used for stud piloted 1.5" lug nuts. Most trucks after that used hub piloted lug nuts that are 33MM, about 1.3" diameter. We do have kits for the 1.5". Just double check your truck on year, and lug nut size. Thanks, Steve

Answer:	The hire stops but the toy doesn’t go silent. There is no way no to totally turn off sound.
Question:	This engine does not move forward or backward consistently. Does anyone know why
Answer:	My review compares to the Hape Wooden Railway Battery Powered Engine No. 1, and it is seriously 3 to 4 times as fast on level ground. It derails less often. I would say this climbs hills poorly, but the Hape does not climb hills at all. It's shortcoming isn't really its power, it has plenty of torque. Its traction and alignment is more of the issue. To perform better, it would have to have something other than rear wheel drive, thicker wheels, or swiveling wheels. You have to put in some effort to make complex tracks that it can run, but it's vastly better than the 1 other train I compared it to.
Question:	How many train cars can this pull and does it go up hills well
Answer:	Yes, my grandson collects hot wheels and they fit great!

Answer:	Brio train cars and engines connect with magnets. If train boxes and box cars are the same thing, yes. We use this engine with and without tracks on a smooth hard floor, the drive wheels are rubber. There is no front end magnet, so this must be the lead engine. Loads of fun.
Question:	Will it go on flat floor without track
Answer:	The one I purchased for my grandson works fine and has no problems with running forward or backward. I would contact the seller and see if you can return it for credit and replacement.

Answer:	5? My son lines up 10 or more rail cars behind it and this engine chugs along just fine. Going uphill with more than five cars, it only struggles because it's front end is too light so the front wheels lift off the tracks when pulling ten cars up a slope. If you gently hold the front down, it has enough power to pull the train - so issue with traction, not power :)

Answer:	You have to unscrew the lone top screw where the steam would come out. The bottom triangle screws do not need to be removed to replace the battery

Answer:	When the batteries are new the engine pulls at least 6 cars on a wooden track with inclines, it can pull more cars on a wooden track with no inclines but it is noticeably slower when there are more than 4 cars.
Question:	Does this train work with the Melissa & Doug tracks
Answer:	It works on all wooden tracks. I have brio tracks, Thomas tracks and imaginarium tracks and they all work with this train. It is a really neat toy but it does not move too fast and batteries need to be changed pretty often. With that being said, my son still really liked it.
Question:	can it move without the battery
Answer:	I don’t know from experience but I don’t see why they wouldn’t. As long as they are AA size which is what the train uses. The way these trains use up batteries I think I might give it a try myself..lol. My grandson loves his trains, probably his favorite toy.

Answer:	The truck has 2 3/4" wheels and a die-cast body. The detail of the truck is very nice. Hope this helps.

Question:	Does the electric train have some smell
Answer:	Not sure. I bought my set for a Christmas gift for 2017. I would think a straight track would mean you would have to purchase the curve tracks. Ready to play would have both.
Question:	Is there a remote
Answer:	Disassemble the train upside down to access the speaker box. It'll all go back together again, don't worry. The speaker is housed inside the black round piece at the front of the locomotive. Remove the black round cap piece and discard. Flip the speaker so the holes face up and cover the whole thing with electrical tape. I also shoved some cotton balls the hole. Put the train back together, tape the holes on the underside behind the spring. It doesn't completely solve it but it's way better. Other option is to cut the cord to the speaker like another commenter replied but my version keeps the sound, only quieter.
Question:	Can the trains run without sound
Answer:	I spoke with Lionel directly because I had the same question. Here is their response: "We do not market or sell Ready to Play individual cars. You might be able to find them online as individual pieces, but it is nothing that we offer. I just suggest that if you look on 3rd party sites that you look for pieces marketed as “Ready-to-Play”." Basically you can only add more of the exact train cars that come with this Polar Express set, or individual train cars from the other Lionel Ready-to-Play sets. These include the Santa Fe, Christmas Mickey Mouse, John Deere, or Thomas the Tank engine sets. I have only been able to find used/new individual cars from these sets on eBay. I did purchase additional Ready-to-Play track (straight and curved) from Amazon.
Question:	How can i buy more tracks
Answer:	This is a solid piece of machinery. I’d say at least a pound and a half to 2 pounds. It’s nice to have something that feels so well constructed.

Place the tracks shape on a suitable flat table or floor. Then pick up and install each track correctly follow the instructions.

STEP 2

Unscrew the screws in the battery compartment on the locomotive.

STEP 3

Pick up the cover and find the battery compartment where the battery is installed

STEP 4

Install 1 X 1.5V AA batteries(not included) and make sure the"+" and "-" electrodes are installed correctly.

STEP 5

Carefully close the battery cover and tighten the screws.

STEP 6

Turn on the switch to check if the battery is installed correctly and the train can work normally.(Then turn off the power first and turn on it after the train is correctly placed in the track)

STEP 7

Connect all train with connecting part one by one carefully. Let the whole train be connected

STEP 8

Place the train on the track and make sure that each wheel placed correctly as the picture shown. Place incorrect will couse the train deviate from the track during running.
