Question:	Does this have a security key on it
Answer:	Has WPA key on bottom tag. Has WPA/WPA2 wireless security. Also has Parental Control and Guest Network features.
Question:	I have Xfinity blast will I have to call them to install this component
Answer:	for me, i just had to connect it to my cable like it was connected. Xfinity website loads and it will automatically read the info off the modem, register it, and even update the firmware for comcast. its done automatically, takes about 10 minutes, and i did NOT have to call them!
Question:	does this work with Time Warner cable
Answer:	It is not on their approved list yet as of 3/8/2015. I can confirm in the Albany, NY area I have this modem working on Time Warner Cable. I had to talk to a modem specialist to get it working so it was not as easy as an approved device. Read my review for my review for more information.
Question:	Can the firmware be updated by the user or only by the isp
Answer:	Netgear confirms that only your ISP can update the firmware. This is unfortunate, as the current firmware (at least for Time Warner Cable) relies on outdated code that prevents the Netgear CM500 from obtaining the accurate System Time. This can lead to more dropped connections and difficulty when accessing secure sites. Despite replacing the CM500 with a supposedly updated unit, this error persists. The CM500 consistently reports the System Time as at least 5 hours out of sync.

Answer:	If you are only connecting to this device via its Wi-Fi functionality (laptop and PS3), then you don't reality need a "computer' to be connected to it at all except for the very first time to set it up, since you will need to access the setup console via the web to initially create your Wi-Fi (WLAN) network. You have a laptop and it will work just fine to set it up. No "desktop" computer needed specifically. Once you set it up for this first time, the device doesn't need to be connected to a computer at all, again if using for Wi-Fi aka access point. If you will be connecting to this router via its wired connections (4 LAN ports on the back), then you can connect a desktop, laptop, or any other device which has a network card with an RJ-45 connection; almost all computers have one, and video game consoles, and smart TVs.

Answer:	I just purchased this router (E2500) and I assure you it comes with a USB plug and it works with external hard drives. I currently have my seagate free agent 300 MB hard drive plugged directly into it. It is mapped to my computer and my wife's computer under the U drive. I have transfered files to the hard drive and downloaded from the hard drive. The Linksys Connect utility allows you to search your router for connected devices.This confuses me because the instructions on the box say this feature is not supported, but I assure you it is.

Answer:	Just upgraded my E2500 with Tomato. Go to the Shibby site and download the E2500 build for your version. The build for V3 routers is different from the one for V1 & 2, so be careful to avoid bricking your box. Begin by resetting your router to factory defaults, then flash and enjoy. The 5GHz radio does work with Tomato.

Answer:	The speed is very good and also coverage, works in wireless 150 mbps, 100 mbps ethernet cable, coverage reaches 100 feet. I have a connection of 2 mbps, and I have no problems, the videos play very well

Answer:	I have 200 Mbps speed with my internet provider. I bought this piece of crap thinking it was a 300 Mbps router. After several trips to the house by technicians, the technician today (19 Aug 18) told me the failure to get to 200 Mbps was due to this router. He contacted the internet directly to the computer and the speed was 225 Mbps. The he hooked the router up again and the speed dropped to70 Mbps. After sveral calls to Belkin Tech Support in India, I was finally told the 300 Mbps is a transfer speed between two computers and will never deliver 200 Mbps in a speed test. I'm doing what the Tech told me today, I getting rid of this piece of crap and buying Net Gear.

Answer:	Within the first 15-30 days or so. It might happend every once in awhile after that like it drops my printer once every 2 or so months now.

Answer:	Well, if you're having the issue I'm having it is not the router but Windows 10! Google it and you will see we aren't alone. If you haven't downloaded Windows 10 and that's not the issue then I would contact Netgear. I uninstalled Windows 10 and am waiting for the next Windows update after 10 to see if they fix the problem. So disappointed in Windows 10!

Answer:	Yes, I have this on my network. The one that is connected to the modem is your primary router, the other will be an extender. In the manual that comes with it, it explains it. Also, you can use N750, N600 also as extenders. Setup the other router an Extender Mode. Question:	Looking for a router to run a Minecraft server off of. Anyone tried using this one
Answer:	I did have this router running. I had to reboot it a couple of times in the beginning but after awhile it ran without much problems. I only used the lower 2.4 gig band. The only reason I stopped using it was when I setup my new wireless HP printer which somehow changed my router's password and I couldn't access it thru my network. Never did figure out what happened but I am keeping it as backup and will reset back to factory settings and restart the setup if and when I need it.

Answer:	might be too late to answer this but it could be the devices. I have some devices in my house that can see the 5 ghz and others that can't. MY Nexus 7 (1st gen) was not made for the 5 Ghz spectrum but my Nexus 5 sees both. All depends on how the device was made.

Answer:	I don't know the official answer, but the furthest I get a signal is about 30-50 (roughly guestimated) yards from the router. It's a week signal, but it's still about 30-50 yards going through three walls and a tiled floor.

Answer:	You must have a cable modem. You connect the cable to the modem and then connect an Ethernet cable from the cable modem to the Asus router.

Answer:	I have not needed to do a reboot for any issue since I got it, and I'm a moderately heavy data user. Last reboot was over 6 months ago, due to a Cable Modem replacement.

Answer:	UVerse uses VDSL. The modem built into the N600 is an ADSL+ modem and will not work with UVerse. You can use the N600 as a router only by connecting a VDSL modem to the router via the WAN connection.
Question:	Before dropping $120.00 on this, how good is the range? Would it be bood for a 2500 sqft area
Answer:	Our Netgear router is located on the 2nd floor of our home which is 1140 square feet. It reaches to the main floor (also 1140 square feet) without any problem as well as outside on the front porch and back deck. The home is wood construction with steel siding. I don't have any problems with reception. Some reviews said this router has limited range and I'm not sure what was meant by limited range.
