With the screw backed out, the maximum opening of the clamp on the end side is about 1/2", and that will be the largest size rod you can use in a situation where the end of the rod is not accessible. If the end is open, the clamp can be attached by slipping the opened clamp from the end, the the clamp can be used for over 0.7" diameter.

Young chemists will experiment and flex their chemistry and doodling muscles by creating four kinds of slime. Kids will create black chalkboard slime and doodle on it with chalkboard art markers. While our boxes are designed with kids ages 2-10 in mind, we have subscribers as old as 14 and have even spied a number of adults having fun with our projects! We provide open-ended instructions that are intended as a jumping off point for kids to encourage their creativity and ensure that small kids can practice basic creativity skills while older kids can get more sophisticated with their projects.

What types of materials do you use, and where do they come from?

Some of our favorite supplies to include in our boxes are recycled felt, recycled paper, and recycled ribbon. We also love to include natural materials like wool, yarn, colored sand, clay, canvas, noodles, cruelty-free feathers, shells, jute twine, cotton fabrics, and wood. We source project materials and packaging supplies from reputable, sustainable companies that have a green standard.

How many children can use one box?

We provide a lot of materials for one child – many of our projects, but not all, can accommodate two children. Collaboration is a great part of any project, and we encourage children to work together as they explore each new art and science concept. You can also choose to order an additional subscription. This way, each child gets their own box in the mail! What kid doesn’t love getting mail?

Question:	When you say VR does the child need a computer or phone to do the experiments? Also how does one cancel the suscription if need be
Answer:	Your initial package will contain just one experiment set, the Chemistry of monsters one. Along with that you will also receive a free VR headset and the Starter Kit which is a box with tools and instruments that you'll need throughout the whole subscription! The other listed experiment sets will follow later on in the subscription.

About the Seller

My name is Carrie. I am the mom of 3 active, curious boys who have always been eager to get their hands on everything so that they can learn how it works and why it does what it does. I was also a Cub Scout leader and was always coming up with fun, creative activities to keep 13 rowdy boys excited and interested in learning. It was important to me to provide high quality projects that fascinated kids while also teaching important lessons.

I started STEM Discovery Boxes after realizing how much work it was to research projects, come up with ideas, purchase separate materials from multiple locations, cut individual pieces, organize instructions, learn the science lesson behind the projects and then have my kids and scouts test the ease of creating the projects... just to find out that some experiments didn't even work. Ugh. It was also expensive to purchase everything to make only a few projects. I wanted everything ready to go without any hassle. Ta da! STEM Discovery Boxes was born!

Q: What is the recommended age range?

A: The recommended age range for our subscriptions are: 3 to 5 years old for Early Explorers, 6 to 10 for World Edition, and 9+ for our Science Expeditions.

Q: What themes are covered in the Science Expeditions subscription?

A: Your child will receive the Forensic Science package in the first month, followed by a themed package each month thereafter. Themes include: Forensic Science, Caves & Crystals, Hydrology, Optics & Vision, Rockets and more!

The Welcome Box

Club SciKidz has been conducting exciting science and technology enrichment programs for the past 23 years. Our Story

Kidstir’s founder Aparna Pande has an extensive career of creating content for families, having worked for Mattel, Meredith (owner of Parents Magazine), and Disney. She had a personal reason for starting Kidstir: As a mother of twin boys, she understood the importance of a healthy connection to food in kids. Kidstir was established to empower every family with cooking confidence and opportunities to bond in the kitchen.
