Using it as a well water sediment filter, install on the main cold water line near your water storage tank coming from the well. Answer:	I use this filter for the entire house. Thus, I have my plumber install it near my house water main entry, after the water meter & water pressure regulator. Since I don't trust the shut off valve on the top of the filter plastic housing, I ask my plumber to install 2 quarter-turn ball valves -- one in each side of the housing. Before I change the filter, I will shut off both valves first -- not water comes into the filter and no water flows back to the filter; then, I turn the value on the top of the filter housing to release the pressure. Next, I use the wrench to loosen the transparent housing. Hope this helps. The most important thing is that you need 2 good quality ball valves on both side of the filter assembly. Having these 2 valves, you can change the filter easily as well as replace the entire filter housing assembly with ease.

Answer:	I installed mine outdoor but I built a small 'closet' around it to protect it from freezing temperatures AND from the sun since UV typically degrades plastic.

Answer:	I used silicone gasket compound on the fittings that screw into the filter housing instead of teflon tape to make sure they would not leak. I purchased a Culligan mounting bracket to help support the filter housing since the pipe is cpvc. I also added by-pass valves and pipe so that if I need to replace the filter housing I will still have water. A few dollars more, but I will always have water.

Answer:	This filter leaves healthy minerals in the water. It is not an arsenic filter but it will reduce a significant amount. This is a carbon filter and does a better job filtering chlorine, taste and odor as well as heavy metals such as lead and many other organic contaminants. The best method to remove Arsenic is using ion exchange or ultra filtration such as Reverse Osmosis. If you have high levels of arsenic in your water we would recommend adding an ion exchange filter or RO system after it to further reduce the arsenic levels in your water, reduction rate might be 90% - 100% when combining. Answer:	I have had several of these filters. Never have submerged. Change, run water about 15 minutes and go. I haven't had the hazy, slimy water issue. Interesting if you have. I change filters at least once a year at our house, sometimes sooner, unit sends audible (beep) when senses change needed.

The original Amway filters actually had a plastic mesh that was wrapped around the entire filter. How do I know all this? Easy, I was an Amway distributor for many years and actually took a class on these filters, plus I have owned one for a long time.
