Answer:	There was a large variety of rocks in my package, so I think there is a variety of hardness, but you could easily sort them. I think it's a great, high quality collection for the price.

Answer:	Yes, it can turn left and right. The calibration wasn't exactly straight forward but after a few tries was able to find and acceptable 'straight' setting and it drives okay. Speed is normal RC car speed, slightly faster than human walking so maybe 5-10 mph tops. The lag between the app and the car is a bit of a problem and at higher speeds you end up running into stuff a lot.

Answer:	No, our NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC Rocks & Fossils Kit is not a dig kit. This is a beginners rock collection.

Answer:	This was a birthday gift for a 8 year old boy. He loved it as the rocks and fossils were easily identified and he loves his rocks. It is not a polishing device. So you do not need grit. I have seen where National Geographic does offer a small rock polishing kit.

Answer:	I have looked up most the rocks included. They are not toxic or radioactive. However I don’t really know all of them, so I can’t be positive. This was a gift to my niece that shared it with her granddaughter. Knowing her I think she would have looked most of them or gotten back to me if there was any issues.

Answer:	There was no gravel in ours but several random small and very small polished stones. The chart that came with the set even has those two categories listed - small polished stones and extra small polished stones. ... Because not all of the larger stones are polished, there was dust and small bits that chipped off in shipping. I removed those before the kids got to handle the contents.

Question:	Were i to use this in a middle school class. how many students could work in a small group and still function efficiently with this kit
Answer:	I did a group of 3 in a middle school classroom and it was good. Any more and it might get tight around the “brick.”
Question:	Bought this for my son last christmas and he loved it. he has it on his christmas list for this year. if i buy it again will he get the same fossils
Answer:	There may be one or two that he didn't get last time, however you should expect the same type of fossils. These are real fossils though, so each fossil (even fossils of the same type) can have significantly different appearances.
Question:	does it come with the crow shark tooth
Answer:	The Mega Fossil Dig kit should contain a crow shark tooth specimen within the dig brick. If your kit was missing a specimen please contact us directly at [email protected] where we can further assist you.
Question:	what material is the "brick" made of
Answer:	The brick is composed primarily of gypsum.

Question:	Can use a sharp,big knife or if not, what do you use
Answer:	No hammer, it comes with goggles and a magnifying glass
Question:	Does the item include a hammer
Answer:	The best way to open them is to take a large file & carefully cut a groove around the Geode along any depressions in the shape. Place in on a towel on a concrete floor. Be sure to put on safety glasses! Take a large chisel and place it in the groove. Strike the end of the chisel with a hammer to break the Geode open. Be careful everyone standing near has their safety gasses on as well!
Question:	What is the method of how to open them? Do you need to have a separate tool for that
Answer:	These are absolutely real geodes, as you would soon discover when you try to break them open. However, as I have recently discovered, they are not all geodes. Of the five I've opened so far, one is a very dull nodule, not a geode, and another is nothing more than a roundish rock. So, two duds out of five so far and, based on the feel of the weight, I suspect another of the remaining five may be either just a rock or a nodule.
