Answer:	The answer is yes, but you should be sure you have the correct match motor model for 120V and the correct set of parts... I bought our Aleko motor set on Amazon. Aleko purchases these awnings & motor kits overseas in China and re-brands them as Aleko. I have seen a few Sellers on eBay advertise "similar" motors on eBay with an incomplete set of parts, they claimed the parts will work with Aleko Awnings, but the parts were for a different manufacturer/model . Aleko mainly provides tech support for items purchased from their company based upon customer info found in their company database. I suggest you need to be sure the Seller is authorized by Aleko to sell their kits and parts, otherwise tech support and warranty concerns may not be available when you need them.

Answer:	You don't. You have to install a Knack box. (I think I spelled "Knack" correctly, but the fire department would know). The fire department has a standard key to all boxes and in your box would be a gate controller which they would use to open your gate. Typically the box is installed into a cut out in the gate or in a post on one side. OTOH in a small enough community they just may have everyone's controllers on a board somewhere.

Answer:	No, the base does not appear to heat up. It is a plastic material and stays cool to the touch. I happen to use the device on granite, but I would not have any problem using it on Formica. The grate gets hot. The grease pan underneath gets warm, but I have seen fat drippings turn white. Some persons have suggested putting some water in the grease pan. I wouldn’t think that would be a good idea. Both grate and drip pan are cool enough to handle and clean in the sink in 15 minutes.
