Answer:	depends on what you are burning, I melt gold on maybe a quarter tank for say ten minutes, so basicly you have to know your metal and how to work it. other metals take less time because the intense heat is not required as gold melts at 1100 to 1200c.

Answer:	There are two primary differences in the torches; the first is that the TS8000 generates a much higher temp than the TS4000. If you're just doing soldering for plumbing, or extremely light brazing on very thin materials, the TS4000 is probably adequate. If you also need higher temps for the occasional light brazing of something like a lawnmower/snowblower part, then definitely go with the TS8000 with MAPP gas. If you want to do any cutting or heavier brazing, you'll need a different unit that injects oxygen from a tank.The second difference is the TS4000 is either on, or off with no control on the amount of heat, where the TS8000 does have a valve to control the burn level.I own both the TS4000 and the TS8000 and would always recommend the TS8000 for the extra few dollars. While the TS4000 works quite well, it's level of control & functionality are definitely limiting.

Answer:	I use it for silversmithing and I love it. Use it on my map gas and I have gotten way less fire scale. The flame is still rather large but adjusting the gas allows for control of the flame a bit more than others.

Answer:	I wouldn't refer to it as a 'pilot'...you turn the gas tank on...you turn the Mag-Torch wand on to the level you feel comfortable (low is good!)...you flick the 'igniter' @ the end of the wand & when it ignites, you can adjust the torch up or down according to your needs...keep in mind that at FULL output it's 500,000 BTU's!!!

Answer:	I would put the burn tip to the weeds to make sure its lit mine u can barely see when lit. If thats not the answer open the valve a full turn and then try to light it. It's not going to hurt opening the valve more than an 1/8 turn. Just don't have it near anything combustible when lighting.

How Do I Properly Start My Torch Kit?

Starting with everything off and closed (Propane tank and needle valve) slowly crack the knob of your propane tank about ¼ to ½ of a turn. This will provide plenty of propane flow, depending on the level of propane in your tank, to provide a large usable flame. Next, you need to wait about 5-10 seconds for the propane to fill the hose. You will then slowly crack your adjusting needle valve about ½ a turn, and then proceed to light the torch. Following this procedure (also listed in your torch kit's instruction booklet) will prevent the safety valve from engaging and prohibiting your use. If you find that you have turned your kit on too quickly, shut everything off and give the P.O.L. safety feature time to reset (about 1 minute). See also instructions for clearing your Torch Kit's orifice. Hint: Neither the tank valve nor the needle valve on the torch needs to be opened all the way to get a usable flame.

Question:	Can you get hose extension
Answer:	I have no idea of a frame of reference with which to rate this item in order to properly answer your question. It burned the weeds out of my garden but it took a little time. It's pretty hot but it's not a flame thrower. Some plants burned out faster than others, likely due to size and moisture content. If you can be more specific I maybe can better answer your question.
Question:	Would it work for melting snow in your driveway
Answer:	On standby, trigger not depressed a yellow 2-3" flame, at working level, depressed trigger 5-6" blue torch flame
Question:	does this come with the fitting to hook up to a grill propane tank
Answer:	Yes, this will work with the smaller tanks, as long as they have the same connection as the standard BBQ tanks.
Question:	Is this made in the USA? I'm deciding between the Hot Max and the Red Dragon. The Red Dragon says it's made in the USA but the Hot Max didn't say
Answer:	Hi, Dear Customer, the ignition botton send spark to ignite the flame, the gas valve control the flow. You need to turn on the gas valve before push button ignition, and to turn off gas valve to extinguish the flame. Thanks.

Question:	Why won’t the lighter work after one day
Answer:	It is made to be used with the 16 ounce bottle which is 8 inches tall and about 4 inches wide. However I have heard of people who hook up a large propane tank using a hose to attach to this for a longer burn without having to refuel. For me that would make this item less portable but that is just me.

Answer:	My experience has been that there is very little need to consider refilling. My burner has been used many times and there is still plenty of propane in the bottle. I do not think you need to order the refill adapter, and it does not come with the burner.
Question:	Will this work for a rubber roof
Answer:	I used it that long with no problem but it didn't work for anything I used it for. didn't kill weeds and didn't melt ice. don't waste your money

Question:	so after a short amount of time... the hose has holes in it.... the problem is... i cant find a replacement hose anywhere, ideas
Answer:	The 2-inch Bell limits the width of the flame also the regulator limits the power of the flame. if you have a large area to cover then a 2 1/2 to 3 in Bell will allow you to cover a larger area in less time. The higher the BTUs The Wider the Bell allows you to accomplish jobs faster.

Question:	the picture shows a male connector on the end of the hose. propane tanks are also male. does this tool require a male-female adapter
Answer:	Not in grass lawn but it works wonderfully on road way near grassy areas. I think it would work well if you focus flame on weeds and avoid applying fire to grassy areas. It does a great job controlling weeds. One of my favorite garden "tools". 
Question:	I can't get the flame high enough. Can someone guide me on what to do
Answer:	Have not burned blackberries. I grow thornless, and as mentioned by Faye Miller, they are aggressive, and with extensive lateral root system. Not sure how effective Red Dragon will be.
