It will be extra work and you need threading tools but for $18 you may still come out well ahead. You might also be able to buy a 1/4 stud with the same type push in fitting. When you get used to a monopod you can make small vertical camera adjustments by leaning the monopod while adjusting this 234RC vertically to compensate. Ballheads are useless on a monopod. This single axis "mono" head is best for a monopod. Often you can lean against something to stop horizontal movements. If you have plenty of time to sit or stand in one place without people around the tripod is best. With some practice you can use a monopod to increase IQ even better than expensive electric (gyro) image stabilization. Hand holding is fastest but a monopod comes close to hand holding in confined spaces on the move. Many (most?) Pros always use tripods and often turn off image stabilization. Happy Trails |

| Answer: | I'm not sure. It's strong enough to hold a DSLR. It's all metal and solid and of course won't move like a ballhead of the same size. You just have to make sure that whatever you put on there is locked in. When locked in, it pretty secure. In the end I use mine to hold my Zoom H1n which is very light, but being able to detach it quickly rather than removing it from a ball head makes for a quicker workflow. |

| Answer: | for telephoto lenses above 200mm this is worthless, especially in colder weather. Unless you are shooting tethered, but even then I would not trust for long exposures. |

| Answer: | The mounting screw to camera- standard 1/4", tripoda side is 3/8" female connector. If nessesary you can buy an adaptor to adapt to 1/4" connection. |

Always keep an extra quick release plate on hand, you will never know when you may need one. This RC2 plate uses a standard 1/4-Inch 20 screw. This plate also comes with a special adapter to change the thread from 1/4 x 3/8 Inches.

| The 200PL quick release plate allows you to quickly attach your camera on compatible Manfrotto products equipped with RC2/Q2 attachment. The compact dimensions and the lightweight aluminum construction allow the plate to always stay attached under the camera without adding weight and dimension. The grip rubber maintains the camera safely attached providing maximum precision when moving and setting the camera. The 200PL plate is easily attached under the camera by rotating a special flip with the fingers, without requiring additional tools. The large dimension of the finger clip provide maximum strength and safety. The 200PL is a versatile interface attachable to any camera thanks to the provided 3/8” adapter which allows to change the screw thread depending on the specific camera model.
