How Do I Know When My Battery Is Low?

Answer:	I had the same problem. I purchased my safe at Costco. I was able to get a copy of my receipt from Costco and email it to the manufacturer (proof of purchase). They sent me a master code that is specific to my safe, with the serial number from the receipt. After I was then able to open it, I left it unlocked and took the inside panel off, exposed the locking mechanism. I then ordered a replacement lock from Amazon and replaced it in a few minutes. Still working great, and the new components were far better quality than the factory's. Note: the Heritage safes will lose the programmed combo if the battery goes dead. To avoid this, you need to change the batteries when you change your smoke detector batteries (6 months) . I do mine when we have a time change (although this did not work very well for the factory lock). Hope this helps, I know it is very frustrating when you cannot get into a safe when needed.

That being said I did not have to do any additional drilling the two screw holes that allow this to mount on the front of the safe were already there and the cable that went to the lock went through the center hole where the dial rod was located.

Answer:	Not really , pretty much self explanatory, if you just need a new key pad or if you need to replace it all, the keypad should twist apart and is held on door by a couple screws. Should be a plate then the keypad. My keypad was bad I just replaced it, kept the new lock for a spare.

Answer:	Securam is outside keypad and swing bolt body. It is reversible. Typical the flat end towards the boltworks locking mechanism . Just pay attention not to pinch any wires or allow either the keypad or body to hang while attached to the cable. Test the lock and door in the open position at least three times. Its a good lock. Oh last but not least,always use Duracell copper top batteries.
