IRONCLAD KONG: KING OF OIL N’ GAS

In 2008, the Oil & Gas Safety Committee, represented by ExxonMobil, ConocoPhillips, Halliburton, and other industry leaders, put out a call-to-action to the industrial safety market asking them to solve their industry's biggest problem: hand safety. Eye, head, and foot safety had been addressed, but hand injuries still represented more than 70% of all job site injuries. These injuries not only caused serious harm to their employees, but they also cost significant amounts of money and lost productivity. Ironclad Performance Wear and the Oil & Gas Safety Committee joined forces to address this problem. The KONG brand is the result of this collaboration. At Ironclad we are constantly stationed on oil platforms, getting feedback from front line workers, to make sure that we solve real world problems. We began with the KONG Original, and now have a complete line of over twenty patented glove models, each engineered to address the needs of oilfield workers worldwide.

Answer: These are not cut resistant
Question: My husband works for Asplundh and needs level 5 cut resistant gloves. Has any other asplundh workers bought these

Question: How well will they work for a tow truck driver
Answer: yes
Question: Will oils/fluids from a car stain the gloves
Answer: Yes

Ironclad Heavy Utility Work Gloves HUG, High Abrasion Resistance, Performance Fit, Durable, Machine Washable, Sized S, M, L, XL, XXL (1 Pair)

Product description

One piece clarino synthetic leather palm. Abrasion resistant, double stitched DuraClad palm pads. Breathable, flexible fabrics designed for all day use. ArmorFlex finger sidewalls. Terry cloth sweat wipe. DuraClad Reinforced thumb, saddle and fingertips

Ironclad has given hands a new lease with their high-tech approach to glove design. Ironclad gloves are made to protect workers' hands better than other work gloves, without feeling clumsy the way so many work gloves can. The first thing we noticed about these gloves is that they're tailored to fit the natural curve hands have in a resting position, rather than being cut straight, so when the hand isn't working, it can actually relax without the glove pulling the fingers in an uncomfortable direction. The palm of this general-utility glove is made of Amara, a synthetic material that mimics the resilience, grip, and comfort of suede while remaining machine-washable and resistant to water damage. High-wear areas are reinforced with tough DuraClad fabric, making these the toughest grip gloves we've ever worn. The fingertips are also reinforced, yet we had no problem with dexterous tasks like picking up coins. We also like the cut of the cuff on these gloves. It comes in tight to the wrist to prevent dirt or other materials from pouring in. Why so many other gloves have gaping cuff designs is a mystery. While the gloves themselves won't be damaged by water, they won't keep your hands dry for long if you're working in really wet conditions. But that can be said of most work gloves, and everything considered, Ironclad gloves are some of the toughest, most comfortable, and easiest-to-work-in gloves we've tried. --Brian Trinen

User questions & answers

Question: How do they fair with chemicals? Specifically industrial bleach
Answer: Yes u can
Question: Will these work with touchscreens
Answer: They slide to the position you need them and then you tighten them down.
Question: Are these suitable for warehouse selection
Answer: I really don't know what they are but I can tell you this, DON'T BUY THESE LIGHT BARS> I bought a smaller set for me wife's car and supposed to be water proof, well the one started filling with water and it has since died. Now it looks like the other one is starting to fill with water and the black paint has come off to show the dingy grayish color. I put this size lite on the back of my F-150, all the black paint has come off both and now it looks as if one of them are getting water inside. Both sets of lite bars were installed by a friend of mine that works at a Ford dealership doing body work, so I can honestly say that they were installed by a professional, and I can also say honestly that both sets were installed on the bumper where they would never be hit with anything when backing up. So I would not trust them regardless of what.
Question: Are they good for working with chain saws and fire wood activities
Answer: Correction to my last statement: According to their information, they draw 3 watts (W) each which totals 36W, and you divide watts by volts to get amps (A), at 36W total they draw 3A total.

User questions & answers

Question: So these are NOT electrical insulated just for protecting your hands when climbing poles
Answer: Always disconnect power source in AC situations, even with proper gloves I would not personally mess with live AC. As i said in other question, used for solar work and had decent protection from live DC though i was shocked once when a small hole in glove caused wire to ground to my finger, felt like a horse kicked me in the arm.
Question: Are they rated for live voltage work? No way right? Lol
Answer: I would not recommend it, all those black areas on the glove are a spandex like material and offer little if any protection. I would use the two layer type, leather and rubber gloves for anything hot inside a service. I hope when you say hooking it up hot you are talking about working on the load side, you should never go anywhere near the line side if it is hot.
Question: can you do hot taps with theses gloves meaning hooking up a service live
Answer: These gloves are not rated to protect you from high voltage.
Question: does this glove protect from High voltage
Answer: Thank you for your question. We recommend you use our sizing chart which can be found at the link below. https://www.amazon.com/stores/page/E2C5875D-E691-4454-A166-662DC7FAF4D7?ingress=2&visitId=cd83f350-5544-4d06-889c-182afba17e66&ref_=ast_bln

User questions & answers

Question: Why did they double in price
Answer: The gloves run a little small. Although they are intended to be form-fitting, we found them to be a little to right across the widest part of the hand. If you are accustomed to this type of glove you could probably stick with your normal size. If your measurements are close to the next size, you might consider ordering a size up. I hope this helps!
Question: My hand measures 8 3/4”. Should I go with large or x-large
Answer: that's a very specific question bob. i suppose they will protect like any other glove that is not of leather. if you are specifically interested in rope work, may i suggest leather ones for rock climbing.

The Command Series Touchscreen gloves are the latest in Ironclad innovation. Ironclad engineers and manufactures its gloves with cutting-edge materials. Incorporating nanoparticle technology, our Command Series gloves are infused with highly conductive carbon ions. The result is a fabric composite with an electrical conductivity even greater than your own finger.

What are nanoparticles, carbon ions, and why do they make the new Command Series touchscreen gloves so responsive? Unlike a conductive palm coating, which conducts poorly and can easily wear off, we have developed a specialized ion-infused microfiber matrix which will last the lifetime of the glove.

The modern workplace is a changing landscape with the influx of tablets, data entry terminals, and smartphones; the Command Series glove line meets these challenges, and then exceeds them with the Ironclad stamp of quality, durability, and flawless fit.

Caring for your Ironclad Industrial KONG Gloves

For extended durability and comfort, machine wash and hang dry your Ironclad Industrial KONG gloves on a regular basis. Machine wash cool. Do not use bleach, machine dry or use an iron on Ironclad Industrial KONG gloves. Air drying is recommended in order to keep the size consistent with its original form from time of purchase.
