If you have more than a few valves for more than a few stations I would recommend a separate timer and trench in parallel pvc pipes to house the sprinkler wire to those valves. If you haven't laid out your map and therefore have not decided where to place all of your station valves I recommend placing them all close together to limit main line distance better isolating possible leak opportunities and keeping your wire pipe path short as well. Remember you can buy dc valves and a dc timer if you are afraid of electrical wiring codes and how that affects your fire insurance claims. |

| Answer: | The nine volt battery can be accessed by taking the timer unit from the solenoid unit, this is simply a press fit. At the back of the timer is a battery cover which can be removed with your fingers, maybe a tight fit. |

| Answer: | Yes it is waterproof. I have this in an in ground control box which has been flooded (fully immersed in water) and the controller is working just fine. Remember to get this model - the 7101D, as I previously had the similar 7001D (I admit I was trying to be cheap) and this didn't survive. |

If all else fails on the digital versions, take the battery out for an hour or two and it will zero out. You'll have to reset everything then. |
