Answer:	It is divided into two states: open and closed. It has two different colors divided into purple light and red light. Violet light can detect whether there is cat moss by illuminating the cat. Question:	Is there any monthly or yearly fee to connect to a service
Answer:	It is hard to silence the alarm unless you make a minor modification in advance. Don't wait until the 130 dB siren is going before you work out how to disable the alarm. I've had it blaring in my ears while I frantically try to open the case to disconnect the battery, only to find that opening it is very difficult, even with the aid of a tool such as a flat-head screwdriver. What I've done since is filed down the locking tabs slightly, just enough that the plastic case still locks but is much easier to open when the alarm sounds, so that the battery can be disconnected. Then you can address the water leak in relative peace.
Question:	I don't see any rope sensors which is bad for covering areas like washers, fridge, and water heaters. Any rope solutions I'm unaware of with this
Answer:	The wire has no gauge markings- printed or imprinted. Comparing the wire side by side with a wire stripper, appears to be 18 gauge and it is definitely stranded copper. It is most assuredly no larger than 18 gauge so I would lean towards 18 to 20. I don’t know your application as to why you would need to extend the original length but I can tell you that the device is really loud when activated - if that helps you any.

Question:	Can this be setup on alexa as a triggered routine? For example, if sensor is tripped turn off washer machine outlet
Answer:	Like all Ring devices, this is not compatible with Homekit out of the box. However, you can connect it to Homekit using Homebridge running off a computer or Raspberry Pi. See homebridge.io for more detail on that. Ring also promised in June 2016 that they will bring Homekit compatibility to their devices, but 4 years later and it's still not there. So Homebridge is the best option for now.
Question:	What is the maximum range distance for the gateway and sensor
Answer:	No, at this time, you cannot change any of the settings such as temperature set point. The sensor is set from the factory to alert when the temp drops below 40 degrees F. It does not give any alerts for higher temperatures at all. Of course it also sends alerts when the sensors on the underside sense water.
Question:	Can the audible alarm be silenced from the iphone app
Answer:	No, this is not compatible with the ring doorbell.
Question:	Can this be used to detect a tub that has overflowed
Answer:	Two alarms in one unit, it is made to sit on the floor. There are metal contactacts on the bottom to pick up a leak on the floor or flood and also a temperature alarm when it is less than 40F. I have mine on the floor by my sump pump crock. If it is less than 40, you get a warning before it gets cold enough to freeze a pipe.

Answer:	It does not leak, but the gauge and/or the release valve is inaccurate. Sometimes I could wind the pressure up to what the gauge said was 50 PSI with no problems, other times, the release valve would activate at that level. And sometimes the valve would blow at lower PSIs, so the gauge would read 40 PSI but the release valve would engage. For the record, I believe the documentation says the valve should engage at 45 PSI. I don't remember. I ended up buying a regulator from www.micromatic.com, and have been much happier with it.
Question:	will it float in water
Answer:	My Kegco came with a dial for the pressure. It has a plus and a minus on it and that is where I adjust it (see the picture). If you did not get this knob then most likely you would have to use a wrench or screw driver. On the old regulator I did have to use a screw driver and the adjustment was hard to make. If you don't have the new Kegco regulator it is worth the purchase.
Question:	Where do the emails come from? even though there's no hub, it must connect to a remote email server (at zircon?). what if zircon stops this service
Answer:	Yes, remove the hi pressure gauge and put a 1" or 2" extension pipe where the gauge was. Make sure that the threds on the extension are going the right way. They will be left or right. Than add the second regulator to the end of the extension.

Detection & Alerts

Placement

Battery Installation & Low Battery

The Zircon Leak Alert WiFi water detector includes one 3V (CR123A) lithium battery. Remove the plastic PULL tab strip from the battery compartment before use.

To access the battery compartment, grasp the base of the detector with one hand, placing your thumb and middle finger on the indented battery access grooves. Squeeze both sides of the bottom half of the case. Lift and detach the top cover.

During the initial configuration of your Leak Alert WiFi, you may receive a 'Low Battery Alert' notification to your configured email address(es) as a result of a temporary dip in the battery voltage during the configuration process. In the event of an actual low battery, the Leak Alert WiFi will chirp every 30 seconds between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. local time, and one email notification will be sent per 24-hour period.

Email Notifications

Email notifications will be sent as long as the detector is within range of your Wi-Fi router. Upon successful configuration, email notifications will be sent to confirm configuration, when a leak is detected, and when the battery is low and/or has been replaced. Each email will contain the detector’s name and time stamp.

To receive an optional event log summary every 6 days,check the option box 'Send Log Every 6 Days' in the 'Device' screen during configuration. The Event Log reports the last 20 notifications sent, including anytime there was a lost connection to the router, upon reconnection to the Internet.

Question: What type of battery does the Leak Alert WiFi use?

Answer: The tool requires one (non-rechargeable) 3V (CR123A) lithium battery, included.

Q: Will the detector still work if there is a power outage to my Wi-Fi router?

A: The detector will be unable to send email alerts during this time. However, the visual and audio (105 dB alarm) alerts will still function.

Q: Why is my Leak Alert WiFi still emitting an alarm when the sensing contacts are dry?

A1: Moisture from your fingers can trigger the alarm if they come in contact with the external Sensing Contacts that wrap around the bottom of the detector.

A2: Alarm may actually be the chirp of the low battery indication. Replace with a new 3V (CR123A) lithium battery immediately.

Q: Will I ever need to reconnect the detector to the Wi-Fi network after the first configuration?

A: If the wireless password is updated, a new configuration is entered, or the router is factory reset, the Leak Alert WiFi must be reconfigured to the router.

Answer:	Yes you can. The sensor can work in both modes. That is, Water level is normally low (as in a sump pump situation), or normally high ( as in an aquarium situation). You will need to position the float switch at the level you want to get notified. When water level goes below that, you will get the alert(s). The option select the mode is available on the cloud after you setup the sensor. Hope this helps.
Question:	Can the length of the water level sensor wire be extended, and if so how much
Answer:	Yes you can. The unit comes with a 25ft cable. But if you need more, you can get an extension cord either from the manufacturer site or a standard 3.5mm male to female stereo extension cord will work.
Question:	Does this alert if the power goes out
Answer:	Yes. The device is in constant connection to the Proteus web service that you setup an account with when you power on the device. If the power goes out, the device becomes unplugged, your wifi goes down, the sensor becomes unplugged, etc. you will get an email or text message on as many devices or accounts as you want that will state which sensor is down (you can have multiples with different names) and at what time it last contacted the web service (Proteus ####### is down since Today, 2:35 AM EST. Please check power and wifi). Once power is restored it will give you an update telling you what time it started talking to the web service again.
