Answer:	It is divided into two states: open and closed. It has two different colors divided into purple light and red light. Violet light can detect whether there is cat moss by illuminating the cat. Govee WiFi Water Leak Detector

Using the connection between the gateway, water sensors, and Govee Home App, you can monitor any leakages on your phone while you are away from home. There are no annoying wires, which makes monitoring even easier. You can also name each WiFi water sensor according to their location on the App. When a leak occurs, the sensors will not only sound a loud alarm, but email and App notifications will also be sent to your phone. Open the App, Connect to H5040.

Follow the app prompt to connect your WiFi "Govee_Gateway_xxxx" with your router (doesn't support 5G WiFi). Place the water sensors in the detecting location and name each water alert .eg. basement, kitchen. Then you can begin to monitor the water leakage on your phone!

After a successful connection, you can place the sensors and start to monitor water leakage on your App. Note: Please ensure the App and your phone settings are set to allow "push" notifications. The gateway will not send push notifications if the leak happens again in 90 seconds.

Question:	Is there any monthly or yearly fee to connect to a service
Answer:	It is hard to silence the alarm unless you make a minor modification in advance. Don't wait until the 130 dB siren is going before you work out how to disable the alarm. I've had it blaring in my ears while I frantically try to open the case to disconnect the battery, only to find that opening it is very difficult, even with the aid of a tool such as a flat-head screwdriver. What I've done since is filed down the locking tabs slightly, just enough that the plastic case still locks but is much easier to open when the alarm sounds, so that the battery can be disconnected. Then you can address the water leak in relative peace.
Question:	I don't see any rope sensors which is bad for covering areas like washers, fridge, and water heaters. Any rope solutions I'm unaware of with this
Answer:	The wire has no gauge markings- printed or imprinted. Comparing the wire side by side with a wire stripper, appears to be 18 gauge and it is definitely stranded copper. It is most assuredly no larger than 18 gauge so I would lean towards 18 to 20. I don’t know your application as to why you would need to extend the original length but I can tell you that the device is really loud when activated - if that helps you any.

How to Connect the Water Sensor Alarm to Your Phone? (Dual Mode Pairing)



Smart Pairing Mode:

Smart pairing mode: long press the smart key for 6-12 seconds until the green led blinks quickly (5 times persecond). Connect your phone to wifi, open the app and click the + on the upper right corner Choose Others Others(WIFI) Click confirm indicator rapidly blink Enter your wifi and password Connecting Connect successfully.



AP Pairing Mode:

Trigger the sensor alarm first,and then long press the AP key for 6-12 seconds until the green led blinks slowly (one time persecond). Connect your phone to wifi, open the app and click the + on the upper right corner Choose Others⸺Others(Wi-Fi)Click other mode Click AP mode Confirm indicator slowly blink Enter your wifi and password Go to connect your mobile to the device’s hotspot Exit when connected Connecting successfully.



Problems and Note:

①This product needs to be used under 2.4G network WIFI. If the network has 2.4G and 5G, 2.4G network should be selected first. After the product is added to the APP, and 5G is turned on at the same time, it will not affect the use.



②There are two reasons for not sending a message after detecting a water leak:

1. The detector is not connected to the mobile app. If the connection is not successful, the mobile app will not push information.

2. There is a problem with the WIFI network in the use environment.



③If there is water leakage, the machine will alarm, but if you close the water valve within a few seconds, the alarm will stop. The maximum duration of the alarm is 20 seconds.



④If the detector has not been connected to the mobile phone AP, please read the user manual carefully.If you are not satisfied,we will refund you.

How it works

• Each water leak alarm contains one battery, no need to install battery, just place a Leak Alert in any location where there is a potential for water damage and flooding
• Lay the Leak Alert flat with the metal contacts facing down and touching the surface. Answer:	There are 3 ways to connect the extension cable to YoLink Leak Sensor. 1. Soldering with a soldering iron: (1) Use a soldering iron to solder 2 common wires (regardless of positive or negative) to a set of probes on the Leak Sensor (a set of probes on the top of the leak sensor is recommended) (2) Fix the leak sensor in one place (If you use double-sided tape to paste the bottom of the leak sensor to the wall, the thickness of the double-sided tape must be higher than the height of the footpad on the bottom of the leak sensor (>1.5mm), otherwise, the leak sensor may not stick firmly ) (3) Place the 2 wires in the area to be detected. The 2 wires must be separated and fixed with a certain distance (10~15mm) But please kindly note: If you use a soldering iron to solder the wire, it may damage the two probes of the original device, which may cause the probes to rust in a humid environment. 2. Use glue or tape to fix (1) Use glue or tape to stick 2 ordinary wires (regardless of positive or negative) to a set of probes on the leak sensor (a set of probes on the top of the leak sensor is recommended) a. Stick the wire to the end of the probe and roll it into a circle or ring to expand the contact area & assist in fixing; b. It is recommended to use glue/tape with high viscosity, which must be firmly adhered to! (2) Fix the leak sensor in one place (If you use double-sided tape to paste the bottom of the leak sensor to the wall, the thickness of the double-sided tape must be higher than the height of the footpad on the bottom of the leak sensor (>1.5mm), otherwise, the leak sensor may not stick firmly) (3) Place the 2 wires in the area to be detected. The 2 wires must be separated and fixed with a certain distance (10~15mm) But please kindly note: If the glue/adhesive tape fails to stick the wire firmly, it may cause the wire to fall off and the leak sensor may not work properly. 3. Answer:	Like all Ring devices, this is not compatible with Homekit out of the box. However, you can connect it to Homekit using Homebridge running off a computer or Raspberry Pi. See homebridge.io for more detail on that. Ring also promised in June 2016 that they will bring Homekit compatibility to their devices, but 4 years later and it's still not there. So Homebridge is the best option for now.
Question:	What is the maximum range distance for the gateway and sensor
Answer:	No, at this time, you cannot change any of the settings such as temperature set point. The sensor is set from the factory to alert when the temp drops below 40 degrees F. It does not give any alerts for higher temperatures at all. Of course it also sends alerts when the sensors on the underside sense water.
Question:	Can the audible alarm be silenced from the iphone app
Answer:	No, this is not compatible with the ring doorbell.
Question:	Can this be used to detect a tub that has overflowed
Answer:	Two alarms in one unit, it is made to sit on the floor. There are metal contactacts on the bottom to pick up a leak on the floor or flood and also a temperature alarm when it is less than 40F. I have mine on the floor by my sump pump crock. If it is less than 40, you get a warning before it gets cold enough to freeze a pipe.

Answer:	Well sir, if you are making a satirical comment on the current discourse in our society, then bravo. If you are serious, then first you will have to assess whether getting eye irritation from drifting gas is really your greatest concern if you participate in any event likely to end with gas and rubber bullets. Industrial goggles are meant to be worn in workplaces where eye damage from splashing liquids are possible. They are vented to allow for comfort and will therefore allow for the intrusion of gasses. Workplaces that are subject to gas hazard require sealed suits with powered, high filtration ventilation. So the answer is either ha ha if you are joking, or "no way in Hell" if you were truly serious.

Answer:	I would think that a 9 Volt lithium would be safer than an alkaline. These water detectors are supposed to signal low battery life. But you have to hear it and in fact it has to signal. The extra money for the lithium is worth it. There is no reason not to use lithium.
Question:	Installed model h5040 gateway and sensor model h5054. works great. however, can't pair additional model 5054 devices. what is the problem

Question:	Does this detector work by itself
Answer:	I have owned my only 1 week. It’s a 9 volt battery and my guess depends on the quality of battery and how often it is triggered or alarm sounding. I would guess that you should test it regularly and replace it when the low battery alarm sounds or 1 year, whichever is shortest.
Question:	How long the batteries last
Answer:	There are 2 small metal nodes that you can see on the outside in the picture. When moisture connects the 2 nodes the alarm sounds. I test these devices with a moistened finger, not much water at all. Very high humidity can trigger them as well, that is, humidity above atmospheric norm.
