Answer:	I have had no issues. I always use Tung oil on my wooden tools. This thing is a beast chops better get han a hatchet.

Question:	I'm a gal with small hands and moderate arthritis (makes my grip weaker than I'd like). What is the diameter of the handle at its thickest point
Answer:	The thickest point is at the butt end or pommel as it kind of widens out into a bulb shape. At that point it's about 1 and 3/8ths inches, give or take. The rest of the handle is a little thinner and is pretty round. Based on your described hand size and mild arthritis, my personal opinion is it would be a little large and heavy for you for all but the shortest length of time. I'm a decent sized male, 6'1", 210lbs and it does get tiring. This parang is heavy, but does a great job. I also have the mini duku parang (also by Condor) it's every bit as well made and almost as capable as the village parang but is lighter and thinner in the handle and I think that would be a better fit for you. I love them both and the mini duku can do just about everything the village can. Best of luck with whatever you choose.

Answer:	Not likely. The OKC Kukri is shorter than a standard kukri on purpose to increase ranhe of motion when swing thecblade in areas where heavy brush is present. Itvis an awesome tool and a great tool for clearing brush, vines, bamboo, saplings and for processing wood for campfires. Also, made of 1095 Carbon Steel. The US Military has had a contract with OKC (Ontario Knife Company) for over 20 years for the OKC Machete and OKC Kukri. Remember, 1095 carbon steel is important to use (as the weakest option to consider) to resist against chipping. Full tang blades made from D2 tooling steel is far superior to carbon steel (as well as a little more expensive). Carbon steel is hard and prone to rust. Keep it oiled when not in use with a silicone multipurpose oil like 3-in-1 silicone oil (silicone repels moisture/water) or use a one-step cleaning/oiling solution with CLP by SafariLand (found on Amazon; commonly used by US military to clean and lubricate their firearms; CLP stands for Clean, Lube and Protect) directly after sharpening and before storing your blade for long term storage in a humidity free environment (preferably indoors). Adding a patina with Birchwood Casey: Super Blue directly to the uncoated carbon steel will add a great defense against (clean the metal with 91% isopropyl alcohol and allow blade to dry; heating the steel in your kitchen oven for under 10 minutes at 150-degrees will help the Super Blue create a better patina by penetrating the surface of the steel better/faster). Blend in any uneven areas of patina with light, circular scrubbing with a green, heavy-duty Scotch Bright pad and hot tap water. 2 or 3 applications may be needed to create a great patina. Each application only takes 60-seconds before you rinse of the metal with water to neutralize the super blue chemical agent. Wear nitrile gloves and at least a P95 disposable respirator when working with Birchwood Casey Super Blue (magnum blue isn't necessary; Super Blue is the strongest). Chipping over time, depending on what your cutting is inevitable. Keep a sharp edge on your blade. A dull edge causes more wear on the blade and causes you to perform more work in the field. If you're unfamiliar with field sharpening a machette with a bastard mill file, consider a Smith's Axe and Machete Sharpener. It has carbide sharpening tips that reshape damaged blades while making the blade extremely sharp in under 5 to 10 one-direction passes. Always swing the blade of your machete in a downwards, diagonal direction that's swinging away from your body for most efficient use of energy and for safety purposes to prevent the blade from becoming embedded in your body. Answer:	Hi, it's a friction fit. No retaining strap or buckle. It's pretty tight and does a good job of holding the blade in. I would imagine that if you use the tool on a regular basis, eventually it would get lose. The sheath is made of really nice leather though so I would think you could adapt some time of retention system on to it if you were handy with leather working.
Question:	Is the handle solid(not hollow)? I have their micarta handle on one of my machetes and it's solid. Thanks
Answer:	The handle is solid as far as I know. I have hacked down some cactus that were like regular tree trunks. They were at least 20 inches or wider. They were prickly pear Cactus that are about 30 years old.

Answer:	The technical answer is 1-1.25 mm. I dont consider this flimsy. Good steel, thin, and perfect for canes and brush. Not a good machete for wood chores. Slicing, not chopping if that makes sense. Not an "all-arounder".

Answer:	Gerber used to be a good company, but sadly these days they make a lot of shoddy products that have a history of failure during hard use. This otoh is a quality tool, very good, and certainly worth the money.

Answer:	I have many sharp edged tools for which I care. For those with inward facing or recurved edges I've found rod type sharpeners to work well. For large recurve edged tools such as a sickle, sythe or Yoki I use a large rod such as the Arkansas Sharpeners Superstick Ceramic Rod AC4. Best not to let tool get to dull as it's not an aggressive grit but touch it up after every couple of uses.

Question:	What is that little notch next to the hook for? Besides pulling branches what does that hook do that the straight blade couldn't
Answer:	The notch is used for hand placement when making shavings from a log. The hook is used to clear areas where swinging is not possible. For example, when you clear vines from next to a building or post, you can not use a full swing motion, so instead you can use the hook and pull it towards you. The hook comes in very handy in tight quarter clearing.

Answer:	The tool was designed with the blunted point as a safety precaution for the user.

Answer:	Hello - we include a Lansky Sharpening Stone (American Made) in our orders that is a long, rounded rectangular shape. You will use the wide side of the stone to sharpen the long blade and the edge of the stone for the hook. Sharpen in one 'pushing' motion, not pulling. Pushing the stone against the edge in one direction will sharpen the sickle edge. The long length of the stone will keep your hands and fingers away from the sharp edge. Scotch Brite material should remove rust on the flat surfaces.

Answer:	It is XPE Q5 led, very bright
Question:	Is this tail cap switch on this flashlight momentary or press-once-for-on-once-for-off
Answer:	If I remember correctly, they arrived wrapped in some plastic sheet, each one in a very small cardboard box. Nothing fancy, but efficient.
Question:	Do these come with a aluminum reflector or plastic
Answer:	Never thought much about this and two of the descriptors puzzle me a bit, but here goes: Seems to me to be somewhat of a flood effect, with a bit brighter but fuzzy hot spot. This spot measures roughly 8 inches in diameter at 3 feet, and maybe 2 feet in diameter at 10 feet. For what it's worth, I carry one of these everywhere, and has been very helpful to my aging eyes. With intermittent use, the single AAA can go a week or two (maybe more). Love these! Don't know if I helped at all, but I gave it my best shot.

Question:	How does this work for avalanche/ emergency snow shoveling
Answer:	It is made of plastic, but pretty tough, I used it to move and level loose dirt after I used a tiller to loosen the dirt, it worked pretty good. You have to hold the handle at the level you want to carry the amount of what ever you're moving, it won't dig, just good for moving loose material
Question:	Does the cap come with the product
Answer:	The bolts are 11/4 x 1/4 and 3/4 x1/4 carriage bolts
Question:	Is the "ring knob" made of steel or plastic
Answer:	No. I'm 60, and partly disabled but found this easy to use in recent 5-6 inch snow. The blade gathers the snow with little effort from me, then I just leaned it over to one side to dump the snow.
Question:	Just to be clear, this item is made in the USA
Answer:	Never used the straight handle so I can't say anything about it. The d handle works great especially hear in the east. In would think you wouldn't get much leverage with the straight handle while pushing heavy we snow. My 2 cents

Answer:	It's not a true flush cutting saw but depending on the specific position of the cut it will get very close to a flush cut. I think Zona saws are great generally better than xacto. There are true flush cutting saws available.
Question:	Is the blade flimsy or thick like a knife? Does the blade bend when cutting
Answer:	The width of the saw blade from teeth to the edge of the rib of the saw is 1 1/8 inch.

Question:	OK how much does it realy weigh ??? one guy says less then a pound the other says 3 pounds. Does anybody know
Answer:	I use mine both ways with good results, but predominantly for cross cutting. The stiffener on the back pretty much limits use for ripping. Not to disagree with Old Sailor who probably has better eyes, but under my magnifying lamp it really appears to be a ripcut with no set. Whichever, they are very good and useful saws. I have been using them for 35 or 40 years.

Answer:	unless you are going out of charging range for more than 2 days who cares . i charge mine before a hurricane a few times a year if that and its good for spot flashing all year i get allot of Florida Panthers , Racoons , and bobcats in and around my yard . i have taught them to stay out of my backyard and away from my 5 cheewowas with the help of my Anatolian who just kills anything that comes inside the backyard . my fence is inside my property , and they all have learned to stay outside my fence . 16 years and my racoons now walk in sight outside the fence with no further training ( i used a BB gun to ding em ) when i moved in and they shit in my pool and raided my garbage cans . my neighbor still gets em in the garage , after missing 500X with assorted weapons including 357's .they are smart and i assume teach it to the babies . the bobcats run , but the Panthers are huge and i worry about walking from my office to my house at 3 am . But the nite i walk out and there is one , i woiuld rather it ran after a warning shot then having to shoot it . my first encounter , it was sitting on my newspaper and after walking 4 car lengths and 5 ft away it let me walk back to my house . with 8 inch paws i measured in the dirt at the time ,m ( roads paved now ( ) . it could have killed me easily . so i would rather see one and avoid one and thats a main use of my light every nite . my fenced in area is 110ft x 110 ft or more inside the fence , i scan every night b4 i walk in lol . as much as i hunt and kill , i eat , My Dad taught me to respect nature over killing anything for nothing so you feel safer .
Question:	Are the batteries replaceable? 18650's are common now
Answer:	"No, you don't need to replace it" is the weasle words for a slimy seller that does not want to answer directly: 'No, they are not replaceable, making this a disposable flashlight at the end of the day".

Answer:	It only uses the Internal battery , just charge up and your ready to go for hours. I used this light in the coldest of cold -40 , and it was great .
