Answer:	There are two possible causes. The unit was not zeroed out upon activation or you do have a very low level of gas in your home atmosphere, with the first being my best guess. Unplug and move and re-check the reading. If this does not resolve the issue send it back for a new one. Mine has worked well for 6 months so far.
Question:	Why is the 2 pack more than 2 times the price of the single detector
Answer:	I returned these detectors. They don't have any information printed on the case - no manufacturer name, no instructions, no UL approved indicator, etc. These were made in China which is usually okay but I am not comfortable in relying on them to protect my family. I will be researching further and looking for better detectors that can be trusted.

Question:	When I unplug this device the green light goes off even though the batteries are installed as a backup. Is that normal
Answer:	It's about 5 1/2 in from hinge to hinge ~ 14.5 cm. It does provide full cover. The foam is flush with my face without being uncomfortable. It however is not waterproof. The foam has air slots so it can breathe. I've used these for Chemistry lab as well as wood working, and they work great.
Question:	When I try put battery in or plug it in, the alarm goes off! Does that alarm sound stop? It's brand new
Answer:	They stay on surprisingly well! I use them for my dog grooming business. They are light weight so that works good for me. They might be a bit too light for sports. If you got hit with a ball they would probably crack and potentially cut you.

Answer:	Yes, it should do a good job to keep out drywall dust. However, I ended up removing it due to condensation buildup while using it

Answer:	Light turns off on mine as well once i unplug but i just plugged it back in a tested it and it started beeping and went back to red

Answer:	The alarm never went off in ours and the battery was charged when we got it. Its a 10 yr battery so I think your product is defective.

Answer:	This is not a plug-in. Operates on 3 AA batteries and acan be easily mounted on wall. Love it.

Answer:	The User's Guide for this product, and stamped on the item itself, are model numbers of alkalines, (Duracell MN1500 or MX1500; Energizer E91, etc). However, it does say "Use of a different battery may have a detrimental effect on the alarm operation." Thank you for calling my attention to this, because the rechargeables I use are NiMH. The item comes with batteries.
Question:	why does mine chirp intertmittently
Answer:	There is no installation required. Just put in the batteries as shown and it's ready to go. I move mine from room to room. You can mount it on a wall if you want.

Answer:	After spending 40+ years in the car business I have this to say: (everyone seems to be telling what they did or didn't do for a living 😉) I have that if you mount them from one foot above the floor, to one below the ceiling, or even on it..it is still better to have one than NOT to have one! No matter where it is!! It's like ANY tester or alarm, if you don't have one..that's when it will get you killed. Either way, most people will end up mounting them where they are out of sight. No matter what the papers or anyone tells you. Put at least one on each floor..and pray you never need them. Simple as that! Oh..the 40+ years in the car business Taught me this!l, Any idea how much CO is put out into the air of a car dealership over the course of each day, working on from 20-200 cars a day? A LOT! Answer:	I no longer live in the apartment where I replaced the old smoke alarm, but you will love this one. It's so nice to flip the battery holder down and not have to remove the battery from the unit.

Question:	I have these througout my house and rental unit. Installed them about 7 years ago and many malfunctioning. Any durability mprovments since 7 yrs ago
Answer:	The instructions that come with the unit duplicate what I have read from several Fire Department sources: you can place your unit on the ceiling, but AT LEAST 4 inches (10cm) from the wall. If you want to mount it on the wall, mount it MORE THAN 4 inches (10cm) BELOW the ceiling, but NO LOWER than12 inches (30cm) below the ceiling. It has to be high enough up the wall to "smell" the smoke, but that 4 x 4 inch (10cm x 10cm) area where the wall meets the ceiling can sometimes harbor a "dead zone" of still air where the smoke would NOT reach the detector quickly enough during a fire to warn you in time. Thus, do NOT mount your detectors too close to where the wall meets the ceiling.

Answer:	Ionization type. I actually looked at at manual to be certain.

Question:	What size home would this cover? Do I need more than one in a 1400 sq. ft. space
Answer:	Straight into the wall... two prongs on the back. The rear picture shown on Amazon shows the prongs, but it's a little confusing because the battery door is shown open - when the door is shut, it's out of the way so the unit can mount directly on an an electoral socket.
Question:	Does this alarm work when using an extension cord or must it be plugged directly into a wall outlet
Answer:	The manual for the CO605 plug-in with battery backup says that if the battery is low or missing, it chirps once a minute. I don't have the item myself, so if somebody can confirm that it does chirp if it is plugged in without a battery, I would appreciate it. As to another answer here, if you are hearing 3 chirps per minute, it means the alarm is not functioning properly; it is not because of a low or missing battery, which is supposed to give off only one chirp per minute.
Question:	can it detect levels of 20,30 or 40 ppm of CO? I know alot can only detect 70 ppm of CO or above...but I'm concerned of a small CO leak of below
Answer:	If it is a 9 volt battery, it may not be seated correctly. See the video on the first alert website, and be prepared to do some hard pushing to get the 9V battery to engage. I had 3 9V units, and 2 of the 3 seemingly required excessive pressure to get the batteries to engage. When I first thought I had the batteries installed by just closing the door, the unit chirped until I got the batteries shoved on hard.
Question:	If I plug this directly into the wall does it over both outlets? I have a nightlight in my hall where I want to place this unit
Answer:	CO is slightly lighter than air, but about the same weight as Nitrogen molecules that is 78% of air. It mixes evenly over time. Researchers tested this by injecting CO into a column of air at different heights. All trials mixed evenly but the injection at the top took a little longer to reach equilibrium. Question:	What is date of manufacture
Answer:	If your home has a good central location, where air will circulate from most areas of the house, I would say that one carbon monoxide monitor should be sufficient. In the case of a multi-story dwelling, I would invest in one carbon monoxide monitor per floor. Our home is a good example of a single floor dwelling of approximately 1400 sq. feet, with excellent air circulation. We have one monitor in a well ventilated hallway that is common to all the rooms of the house. I hope this response is helpful in your decision making.
Question:	Does this come with the screws for installation or do I need to purchase separately
Answer:	The instruction booklet that came with my First Alert carbon monoxide alarm (I do not know if I bought a "model C0615" -- my alarm has NO identifying alpha-numeric) informs me that there IS an extension cord already on the back of the alarm; it also tells how to access it. I unplugged my alarm from the outlet, turned it back-side-up and true enough the 2 pronged plug you use to plug it into the electrical outlet is part attached to a lightweight extension cord that I would estimate to be about 4 or 5 feet long. The instruction booklet says that is for use by those who want to remain standing and look at the alarm "face-to-face." Hope this helps, Fat.
Question:	why does 9 volt battery not fit in compartment- door won't close
Answer:	This unit probably detects CO at less than 30 ppm, but is not allowed to display that level unless a button is pushed. In this case, the peak level the alarm detected since last reset is what will show, not the current ambient level. From 30 to 70 ppm, the display can show the ambient level, but the alarm will not sound until it's been in that range for 30 days, as mentioned. At 70 ppm, the alarm is not to sound for at least an hour, and no more than 4 hours. That's UL requirements, which most codes across the US adhere to.

Answer:	CO2 is lighter than normal air but it does not hang around the ceiling or near the floor it mixes with the air in the room. I personally have my CO# sensor right above the door trim and about 14" from the ceiling. in the upstairs by the bedrooms I also have the one downstairs in my living room where my fireplace is located it is about 5' off the floor. You have to make sure they are not near a fire place or near any furnace,

Question:	is this an explosive gas and carbon monoxide detector? it only says "carbon monoxide detector" on the actual product
Answer:	Don't worry, it's normal, the large moisture change can affect the sensor performance, and may lead to false alarm, but the data on display only switch to 1,2 or 3, but won;t trigger the voice and light alarm.
