Answer: Sorry to say but yes a hole or sump pit is necessary. The motor needs to be under water if it runs very long in order to have the motor cooled. Also the pump will only pump the water level down to about 3 or 4 inches before it sucks air or the float switch turns off. I dont know of any pumps that will do what you want it to do without a sump hole. I have a 50 gallon plastic drum buried in the floor of my basement to act as a sump. You should only need like maybe a 5 gallon bucket buried in your floor if the water just seeps in gradually. If the incoming water comes in in gushes or like a river you might want something bigger.

Answer: It would depend on the level of water in your basement. The dome sits several inches above the floor so if the water level is above that then you could open one of the multiple ports in the dome and let the water drain into it- assuming then that your sump pump could push the water out. The dome worked well for me. It reduced my radon level in my home dramatically.

Answer: I tested before and after with great results. My radon levels in my house dropped from 18 to 1.5. The key is to get a really good seal from the mounting lip of this unit to the floor. This can be tricky because the floor around most sump pump holes is not flat. I had to craft a flat surface ring using PVC lumber which I then screwed and silicone caulked to the floor to fully seal (and then mounted this to the PVC ring that I made). I used a Tjernland Radon Vac Side Wall Radon Mitigation System for the fan unit - which worked great as well.

Answer: Several inches, but that shouldn't be the point. You're likely to suck air through eddies and burn your pump up if you do that regularly. Submersible sump pumps are designed to be submerged for cooling and fluid dynamic needs. In my further opinion a mildly wet floor merits a reasonably large dehumidifier and/or a French drain perhaps. Problems deeper than that may merit knocking out some concrete floor with a cheesy little air hammer or better, working in some cheap 3/8 inch rebar (there's youtube videos on that), and if the water wont subside, casting some hydraulic cement (the type that sets while submerged) in order to form a sump. Again this is all just one man's opinion. Hope this helps.
Question: Mine keeps getting stuck On. The float drops, but the sump continues to run. Any ideas? It is pretty clean
Answer: Mine is doing the same thing now... once on, the pump will not shut off. If I remove power from the control unit then reapply power, the pump will stay off. But as soon as the water level rises to trigger the float switches, the control unit will not turn off the pump when the water level drops. I believe it is the electronics that are in the control unit that are the problem. I can hear the little micro-switches in the float sensor toggle when I move the upper and lower floats, but the control unit doesn't respond when the float levels indicate water level is low. The power has to be cycled on the control unit to turn off the pump.

Answer: If you know how to solder you can. It's a standard 555 timer circuit. Resister R4 is a 200k ohm. Replace it with a 400k and you'll get about 20 sec. It's linear so for example if you want 30 sec you'd do 600k. I did mine with the existing 200k and in series added a 200k potentiometer so I get a variable 10-20 sec delay. So far so good.

Answer: I hope I don't answer your question wrong. It has no seams on the thigh area. There is one down the belly to the (crotch) hole and up the back. Let me know if that doesn't make sense because as I read it back to myself it doesn't sound smart.

Operation Tips

The max flow is of the pump is 2000GPH (7500L/H). But the height should be close to 0 meter and use the discharge port of 1.5 inch.

That means if you want the flow be bigger, the height of the water you put the water pump into should be lower, and using the 1.5 inch discharge port.



Notice:Floating ball must be kept up when the pump works. once the floating ball is down to the initial water level (about 3.9 inch), the pump will automatically shut down. When the water level is below 3.9 inch and above 1.57 inch, you must hang the float up to continue the pump working. The minimum level floating ball can be drawn to is about 1.57 inch. When the water level is below 3.9 inch, it is best for us to take care of the pump, so that once the pump can not pump any water,the power must be cut off immediately.If not, that will lead to the coil inside the pump burned,Which causes a lot of moister internally.

Answer: Never put a garden hose on it. Mine also didn't last a year.

Answer: It is a very low end pump that has no normal information plate. It has 1 plastic sticker with very minimal info. It does not say what the horsepower is. I have not had a chance to test it yet.
Question: What warranty comes with this pump? We bought it August and died in December
Answer: I looked at the site for warranty information when I ordered it. This is what it suggests: "Please contact the seller directly for warranty information for this product. You may also be able to find warranty information on the manufacturer’s website." I did a search from other providers and found some sites that say it is a limited one year warranty. One seller only gave a month return policy. I would contact the manufacturer www.bacoengineering.com It seems other sites are vague or omit the warranty info.
Question: Can this be set to turn on at 4-6 inches of rise in water from a dry hole that accumulates water with heavy rain and leaks into house
Answer: You could prob zip tie the switch where you want it to start pumping from

When the water level is below the initial level( ≤3.9 inch), it will automatically disconnect the power and stop working.

Manual control when you need it to continue working
