User questions & answers

Question: Is the valve gate spring loaded or passive
Answer: It’s spring loaded. It’s a great product. The other valve I had was so noisy it drove me crazy. This valve is so quiet I hardly know my pump is running.
Question: What is the inner/outer diameter of this valve
Answer: It is for 2 inch pvc pipe, but you could possibly use adapors, if needed
Question: does it work for the pool spa
Answer: It should
Question: Pressure rating? I need 70psi or more
Answer: The valve is rated at 50 psi.

User questions & answers

Question: Can this be buried
Answer: Yes, but it’s not constructed of the type of materials designed for the purpose or that will endure well buried in earth.
Question: What is the minimum lifting pressure required
Answer: I am not sure of the minimum lifting pressure. I attached to my waste pump and it works great. I would guess at least 10 to 15 psi as the spring holding the check valve is not that big, this is a guess!
Question: Can i use this valve to stop roedors entering the pipe..... if i washed my hands for example, will that water can be able to open the valve
Answer: It should work for that.

User questions & answers

Question: Would it fit a 1 1/4 pvc
Answer: It depends on what your system looks like. This will do the job beautifully if you have enough space, but it is pretty big. . .almost a foot long and about 2" across. I use it as part of a system for a small orchard, and it works great there.
Question: Most sump pumps come with built-in check valves now. Why does Amazon recommend this item to be purchased with a sump pump that has its own
Answer: Most of what I've read and seen have the check valve slightly above ground level. Do your install with a union so that you can remove (i.e., replace) things without having to cut pipe. Remember to drill a small (1/8" or 3/16") in the pipe between the pump and the check valve to prevent airlocks. Drill so that the 'leak' squirts downward! That said, some people argue to put the check valve immediately above the pump (below ground level). Installing just above the pump would minimize the amount of water leaking back into the sump (but we're talking less than a quart, I'd guess.). Mine is installed just above ground level.
Question: Can I use the Zoeller 30-0181 check valve, 1-1/2 inch on my lawn pump system
Answer: It does not specificaly state Water or Gas, but it does say "Fluids" and it has brass, stainless internals with viton seals (Flourocarbon) - so if your liquid is compatable with those materials, it will most likely work fine.
Question: Should I install this low to the floor close to the basin or higher up on the pipe closer to the discharge point
Answer: The CFM for any air flow passageway depends upon the pressure (psi) within the flow. Without stating the pressure, the question cannot be answered.

Answer: Just over 10 inches this includes the 2 rubber pipe connections
Question: for horizontal installations, is the flapper's heavy end opposite the Jackel label so, label up for an install ?? Thanks
Answer: This valve should only be installed vertically.
Question: Can this 2" check valve Jackel be put on a sump pump with a 1 - 1/2 inch with a 2 " adapter of some kind like a Jackel adapt. 1-1/2 to
Answer: Yes you answered your own question. Any hardware store should have the 2" to 1 1/2" reducer. Call Jackel if you want it from the horse's mouth. They are very helpful.

User questions & answers

Question: is this clear or white? i need the clear type
Answer: We bought two and both are exactly as pictured. White connections with the actual valve visible through clear plastic.
Question: Will I need to apply PVC cement to this valve's connections, or do they work like 'unions' where I may twist the valve off
Answer: It has both, but you will need to apply cement at the ends. Once the ends are cemented the housing can be twisted out (for replacement or cleaning if needed). The ends are typically not tight fitting so you will need to build up a good layer of cement.
Question: I just bought a Liberty Pump Pro 370 1/2 HP Sewage Pump System. Will this work with a standard sewage ejector or is it only for a grinder pump
Answer: It will work with any 2" discharge sewage, effluent and/or grinder pump. This CV is very well made and the best part is... no more banging!
Question: I have copper pipes. Can this be mounted with rubber hose and clamps
Answer: As long as the rubber is rigid enough & your connections are tight as well as the vertical rise maintains level. Keep in mind that rubber may absorbe odors that pvc does not. If you are draining just water then fine. I'm draining effluent/sewage/grey water & related items.

User questions & answers

Question: Does this come apart into three pieces, the valve and the two ends
Answer: Yes, and it also can be mounted at an angle. The plumber that installed mine told me that they are quietest when installed at 45 degrees, with the flap opening up. This valve is almost silent!!
Question: can I use this valve for injection sewer pump
Answer: I just received 2 of these valves and as the other answers have stated this valve has disconnect nuts on each end. The 1 1/2 schedule 40 PVC fits inside the couplings and then permanently glued. Having rubber couplings would be more for noise/vibration isolation and not 100% necessary. If the valve had to be replaced in the future , u would be limited to the same valve or require re-configuring the connections for a different style valve. In my opinion it would make sense for the manufacturer to have a 1 1/2 connections already in place on both ends.
Question: Can this valve be installed horizontally
Answer: The two ports are the in and out ports that connect to the pipe.
Question: Can I install with rubber couplers instead of gluing PVC? This would make replacement easy if necessary in the future
Answer: You have to clean and glue slip joint side of fitting to 1 1/2" PVC pipe above and below, you then can tighten threaded quick connect part of fitting to check valve. Just remember to correctly measure for distance between glued slip joints, so you can install and remove threaded fittings of check valve if you need to.

User questions & answers

Question: Why does mine still sound same as old valve why
Answer: Your noise is probably not coming from the check valve closing,
Question: Can this be installed horizontally
Answer: Good question. the 'closure' of the device rely s on water pressure in the output water line ABOVE THE UNIT. I don't think it would work properly in a "horizontal" position since there is no downward pressure on the valve. I have used two of these units, the first lasted 3 years; I really like the "quiet" operation.
Question: Will this work with 10ft of tubing behind it
Answer: It should. Works well for me.
Question: Title says 1/2"? description says 1 1/4" or 1 1/2". but 2" checke valve also says 1 1/4 or 1 1/2. the1 1/2" clear is sold out. please verify size
Answer: This is a 1 1/2 in check valve. I bought it not knowing and I assumed it was 1 1/2 and was right. Hope it helped. Used for sump pump.

User questions & answers

Question: i've never seen one that says two ports. what are the two ports about
Answer: The spring feels tight, but I am pretty sure it will work on the supply side of a pool. I use it on a pump up basement sink pump. I believe that the pressure and volume on a pool pump is greater.
Question: how does this connect to the pipe above and below? by cementing it to PVC or by tightening it up with a wrench
Answer: Yes mine is installed on a 45 and just above pit so i can visually see water and flap opening at a glance without removing pit cover
Question: Has anyone used this check valve on their pool? I just received mine and I am a little worried that the spring is kind of tight
Answer: I purchased this check valve for use on my well pump. It's installed for over two weeks and seems to work as designed.
Question: can it be installed on a 45 degree diagonal
Answer: Not sure about your application but specs/Google are your friend: "Maximum back pressure: ≥ 300Kpa" which equals 43.511 pounds-force per square inch.

User questions & answers

Question: How high and how far will it pump
Answer: The specifications state the following pumping rates, in GPH, for the following total lift: 2280 @ 5 ft, 1620 @ 10 ft, 660 @ 15 ft, and no flow at 18 ft I would think distance is not much of an issue in a residential application as the discharge should go up more or less vertically and then drain down per code requirements as with any other drain pipe installation. As a follow up to my install, lift required is about 6 ft and the unit has worked exactly as expected and I would definitely recommend the unit.
Question: Why does my wet bar pump under the sink does not stop running
Answer: I think you need a check valve installed. It allows the water to pump out, but prevents backflow back into the basin causing your pump to cycle on and off.
Question: What is the noise level
Answer: Medium noise level.
Question: Is this the 2925B (Discontinued Model) Or the 2925B-02 (Current Model)? If the 2925B, What is the GPM rating at 10 ft of head
Answer: The 2952B has a manufacturer rating of 1620 GPH at a 10 foot head. Hope this helps.

Question: what is the lift rate limit, will it lift 11' vertical
Answer: I do not know the actual lift rate -- My pump pumps up 9' then pump the water 150' away from the basement and when the water comes out the pressure is very strong!--JOE

Question: is the waranty valid when you by thru amazon , some reviews indicate that it is not
Answer: If it's brand new, and is delivered to you in the original box, which every one I've bought from Amazon is and you can produce a sales receipt, which you can from your Amazon account, why would it not be? There is a metal plate attached to the top every one of these pumps that has the date of manufacture stamped on it. User questions & answers

Question: How many amps is the pump
Answer: The pump runs at .22 Amps, and recommended supply current of 2.5 Amps. A standard 15 Amp wall socket is all that you need to plug it into. The .22 Amps the pump indicates maximum start up current, actual running current will be somewhat lower. Inrush current is always higher, when the motor has to start up, actual running current will be lower, example a 1 HP motor will have an inrush current of about 34 Amps, just until the motor reaching normal operating speed then it drops down to around 7.5 Amps, quite a bit lower, but the breaker needs to be able to handle the inrush currents.
Question: can i used without the sensor valve
Answer: Yes.As long as you have a return line running back to your water heater. You do not need a separate return line at every faucet. You need one return line. Follow your hot water pipe to the end (last branch takeoff), cut in a tee and run pex or copper. At the bottom of your tank style water heater there is a small, usually plastic valve. Remove that valve and screw in a 3/4" brass or stainless pipe nipple. Then install a tee inline with side outlet looking up and in the end of the tee put a brass drain valve to replace the crappy plastic one if applicable. The side connection on the tee you installed is where you will connect your return line you just ran. I did not notice if this pump had a built in check valve but if not you may want one to prevent water from flowing through both the hot water main and the hot water return to the faucet nearest the end. Water will follow the path of least resistance so the last branch on the main usually ends up being similar in distance to the water heater from either line. As a result water can back feed up the return line and will bring the cold water entering the tank with it. This is especially true when a second source of hot water is being used at the same time hence the need for a check valve.
Question: If the pump is on, and the water is hot, the sensor valve closes, right? Isn't the pump trying to push water against a totally closed line
Answer: This type of pump is designed to operate with zero flow, and it actually uses a little less electricity when it is not moving water. When the sensor valve closes, the pump does not move any water. When the sensor valve reopens, the pump moves water from the hot water line into the cold water line.
Question: So what this does is move the hot water through the pipes constantly, not just when you need it? Seems like an energy suck. Is it
Answer: If you run this all the time you will likely increase your water heating costs significantly as you are turning your pipes into a big radiant heater. You can use the built in timer to only have it come on at set periods, but this will only work if you have a very fixed schedule. I attacked this another way. I plugged the unit into a TP-Link HS110 Smart plug that is Alexa controlled. I can just say turn on hot water pump or turn off hot water pump when I want to control it. But that was not good enough for me. I found that if this pump ran for four minutes it would give me hot water at the distant shower that I wanted, so I did the following. I wrote a routine to turn on the pump, wait four minutes and then turn it off. While I can run this by voice, I bought the new Amazon Alexa Button, they are about $14 for a two pack. The button is battery operated and communicates to another Alexa device. Just before I take a shower I push the button and within four minutes the water will be hot without having to run water.
