I'd much prefer to buy American, but that is almost impossible as our politicians have created things for U.S. over the past 40 years or so --- but this toaster is surprising for the price. Many times over better than one we bought costing $100 a few years ago that stopped borwning evenly, and stopped working. We've used this toaster daily with consistent, excellent results. |

| Answer: | This toaster gets incredibly hot on the top and sides, even on the low setting. If your and or anything else grazes against it while it's on, you'll get burned. As a test, I tried my current Kitchenaid toaster on a high setting & it gets warm while on, but not burning. I am immediately returning this toaster, because it's dangerous, and will likely go with another Kitchenaid, just to be safe. |
