Question:	What is the maximum spindle diameter that can be fitted
Answer:	I believe a 3”. I am not sure if jet still offers a 3” spindle, but they did when I got mine. But I had to go to the jet web site. Good luck.
Question:	what's the foot print of this machine and how high is it
Answer:	Base bottom is 12" square, top plate is '19 high. It's a fine instrument and I enjoy using it.
Question:	If the sander spindle is 5 1/2" will the 6" sanding sleeve work on it
Answer:	On my Jet sander, the spindles and sleeves vary from 5-1/2 to 6". (The smaller diameter sleeves are the longer ones for some reason. ) I see no problem putting 6" sleeves on 5-1/2" spindles, and vice versa. I like this sander a lot, by the way.

Answer:	Yes the table is cast iron with steel center inserts.

Answer:	It is a medium sized backpack. The front pocket is 5". It is a good size for a large purse.

Answer:	To recalibrate simply "turn the device on in clean open air and it will automatically calibrate". I test mine by standing in close proximity outdoors to an exhaust source (lawn mower or running vehicle) . It is used in a 43 year old single engine aircraft . It's worth the price & was a question on the insurance policy if I used a CO detector .

Answer:	All spindles and sanding drums are included.
Question:	Can the table be angled
Answer:	No. The table is not adjustable.
Question:	Can anyone tell me the actual sanding area/height? The spindles are 4.5", but a portion of that is below the table. Can't see anything in the specs
Answer:	3.5" above the table or a little less if you are using the smallest diameter sanding spindles because of the top locking washer overhang.

Answer:	It's overall dimensions according to the product's details are: 20-1/2 x 22-3/4 x 20 inches. According to the product's information section: 16 x 16.7 x 23.1 inches
Question:	anybody know whether this machine will work with an auxiliary speed controller ...I think the disc sander spins too quickly for some work
Answer:	Haven't found it too fast for any material I've needed to shape. Better getting the correct grinding discs.
Question:	Can you make the motor variable speed
Answer:	You will need to do a little research, but you should be able make this a variable speed unit. It has a standard 3/4hp 120vac single phase motor with a 3450 base speed. You will need to purchase a 3/4 hp 120 vac variable frequency AC motor controller. Expect to pay about $200 for a controller. My only caution is motors don't like to run below 50% base speed continuously, without additional cooling. However, I would not buy this sander again. The disk is fine, but the belt table has a single trunnion and platen is too light. They are not rigid enough to be useful. The real question is will you be satisfied with it after spending $700. I hope this is helpful.
Question:	What is the country where this sander is made? China
Answer:	I Just spent 2-3 minutes trying to find mfg. origin and found nothing. Based on the quality/price I would have to guess that it is made in China-albeit the best you can ever expect from China. Very heavy. The belt housing and both tables are cast iron. The sand wheel housing is an aluminum casting. The belt wheels are cast aluminum but are high quality looking items and run on sealed ball bearings. I think this is probably the best in its size class for anything within 5x-8x the cost. I use it for everything including grinding lathe tool bits and I am thrilled with the purchase.

Question:	How loud is it
Answer:	Not as loud as belt sander. If I was doing a lot of sanding, I would wear hearing protection. It's about 60 to 70 dbs when sanding. The belt sander is about 70 to 80 when sanding. Prolonged use : ear plugs
Question:	Did i get a lemon ? The largest sanding sleeve slides when the machine starts, and so no pressure can be applied to it. What to do
Answer:	Could be the sleeve. I tighten mine down and it works fine. I'm very happy with the one I have. I would contact the manufacturer.
Question:	what's the actually sanding height possible with this sander
Answer:	If the sanding drum in installed flush with the rubber core, the "as-designed" safe sanding height ( distance from the table top to the bottom of the drum downstroke) is 3 3/4 inches. The stroke is 1/2 inch, so it will sand a total of 4 1/4 inches if utilizing the upstroke.
Question:	Anyone find a place to put the extra washers? It's driving me nuts having, seemingly, no where to put them
Answer:	All those neat little places that are designed to hold the accessories are designed by people that don't use the equipment. All the washers, sanding sleeves, mandrills for my machine are in a box not far from the sander. Anything stored as per design would end up covered in sawdust and would have to be removed every time a vacuum or air gun is used for clean up. Cigar box (or similar) is just fine.

Oscillating Action Prevents Overload and Burning

This sander operates with a 1/2-inch stroke that oscillates 108 times per minute, which utilizes a much larger area of the belt than straight-line belt sanders. The oscillating action also prevents loading of the sandpaper in one area, which has the adverse effect of stretching the life of the sanding belt to its fullest potential. Additionally, oscillation greatly reduces the amount of heat produced, thereby helping to prevent any burning of the work piece or sanding belt.

Quick and Easy Adjustments

A simple lever-operated tension release makes changing the belt fast, easy, and tool free. Even the belt guard can be removed and installed with a pair of large finger-operated knobs. You can also conveniently adjust the top-mounted belt tracking system with the included wrench, and you can take advantage of the motor mount's tracking adjustment should it be necessary.

Cast-Iron Table for Precise Results

The OES-80CS features a cast-iron table measuring 30 x 10 inches front to back that has been precision-ground flat and has a full-length miter slot machined into it. Additionally, the table can be adjusted up and down for precise alignment of the workpiece, and the included miter gauge makes precise end or miter saw sanding much easier.

Dust Collection for a Cleaner Shop

To help keep your workspace clean, the OES-80CS includes a dust port with four-inch diameter that's built into the hinged end of the belt guard. The belt guard system also helps direct the dust towards the port as well as focus the vacuum power of your dust collector on the belt to maximize efficiency.

The new JET OES-80CS 89x6" oscillating edge sander is powered by a 1 1/2HP 1ph TEFC motor and is pre-wired 115V. It has a 32" x 7" cast iron table that will adjust up or down and the fence is 24" x 4". The oscillating head can be used either horizontally or vertically and is very easy to adjust by releasing the pivot lever allowing you to sand bevels, angles or flat surfaces. There is a 4" dust port to help contain the dust and depris and also an outer drum support to use while sanding curves or profiles.
