Answer:	Wouldn’t be practical for this small machine. The machine is designed for light steel and alloys. Only accommodates mill ends with 1/4” shanks. Torque would also be an issue. Hope that helps.

Answer:	Head is fixed to up and down but you can shim the cross slide to level or to tram. Nice little machine I bought the collet head from a British supplier for much less.

Table Travel

The M1036 table can be moved in 2 axes. Each axis is independently controlled by a crank handle which features a graduated dial to accurately position the workpiece in relation to the cutting tool. Each axis has the ability to be locked in position which helps to keep workpiece vibration to a minimum.

Graduated Dials for Precision

For added precision, the M1036 features graduated dials. Each mark on the handwheels graduated dials represents 0.001 inch of movement. One full rotation of the handwheel is equal to 0.050 inch. Variable Speed

The M1036 features a variable speed dial to control the

Answer:	Verticle (Z axis) is on the right as the operator stands facing the machine. FYI the Z axis can be a bit heavy when there is a lot of repetitive up and down motion required. I rigged a gas spring that stands parallel to the column and counter balances the weight of the head. Used a 100# 30" oal with 12.8 stroke. Now cranking up and down is almost effortless.

Answer:	The SHOP FOX Deluxe Milling Machine does not come with a power feed. The power feed, along with many other optional equipment can be seen at the manufacturer's(Woodstock International) website.

Capacity Minimum dimensions: 19 inches x 20-1/2 inches Maximum dimensions: 29-1/2 inches x 29-1/2 inches If the Grizzly will fit within those criteria then go for it. It's a great mobile base.

Answer:	Just replace the wheels only. I found mine at castercity.com for $5 apiece. I selected rubber wheels, item number RH3X1 1/4B. Just remove the nuts on the axles, slide out axle bolts and voila, problem solved. It rolls very nicely over concrete. Good luck.

Answer:	I'm not sure if they make the adapter to mount on the face plat. I have a 2" diameter three jaw,self centering scroll type chuck that i bought from Amazon that ihave used that works great,but i think that the holes in the face plate is for mounting a backing block to the piece of wood stock to turn a bowl. It says in the manual that you glue the block to the wood your turning and use the holes to screw the block on to face plate. Hope this helped.
Question:	What size wood stock can it hold? How about something like 12'' long by 8" wide piece of wood
Answer:	The length it will hold will be dependant upon what chucks you have in the head and tail stock. The bulkier the chucks, the shorter the length it will handle. I'd say it will hold 12" lengths unless your chucks are sizable. I wouldn't try more than 4" width stock unless it was short. Although the lathe may hold the stock, it would be too much for the motor. The intended purpose of this lathe is to make small things like ink pens, Christmas ornaments, small toys like tops or yo-yo's and tool handles etc. If you want to mount 12" X 8" stock you should be looking at full sized lathes.
Question:	is there anyway to secure to a bench
Answer:	Yes. It has has three holes in the base that you can bolt it down with. I bolted mine down on a metal stand. It holds it down real solid. Mine is the Shop Fox W1704 also. It is well built. I really like mine. Hope this helps!

Answer:	i think the varied answers come from questions getting sent to people who have purchased different sizes. I noticed some of the reviews are also for other models. This item, the WEN 4208 has an 8-inch swing. So, you can drill the center of an 8- inch diameter object, or about 4- inches from drill center to body. The WEN 4210 & the WEN 4212 have 10- inch swings. Anyone trying to drill the center of a 9- inch wheel would need one of these models. This 4208 is a Great drill for the money. i like that the head can be swung over the edge of a work bench, which allows for drilling into long stock. Like into the bottom center of a 36" post. The beveling work table is another great feature & one i did not have on the press this will replace. If you have the space, consider the WEN 4214 with 12-Inch swing. it is still small enough to be bench top, but you can drill the center of 12- inch/ bowls & table tops.

Answer:	That is the limit of the specs. If my equivalence tables are right, 22 gauge steel is about the same stiffness as .040 aluminum, so you should be okay. I'd be happy to run a sample for you, if you have the time to mail me a plate. Just PM me.

Answer:	If its 1/8" piece of aluminum foil. If its 1/8" thick aluminum? FORGET IT. NO WAY. This thing is a joke. I would send it back if it didn't weigh 200lbs.
Question:	Will I be able to roll 12" wide 16 gg steel plate into a complete circle
Answer:	I would think so, but will depend on your radius. I have only done 20 gage @ 6" wide to about 6" radius. You can always pass through multiple times setting the radius tighter each time. The roll is the best feature of this machine. Shear is basically worthless. I have yet to get a decent cut on any material without bending, binding, tearing, etc. I have wasted hours with feeler gages, etc. and have not yet discovered the magic. Brake is somewhat better, but I can only get about an 80-85 degree bend. I have to finish to 90 on a $40 Harbor Freight benchtop. Hope this helps you.

Answer:	Interesting. I hardly remember the materials. I won’t be back in the shop for a couple of days. But I don’t remember any issues. I think the base, all its parts, were metal. I used to own two Steff 3/4 HP feeders and this little feeder is a pleasant surprise in a variety of ways.

Answer:	I don't recomend this paticular power feeder for this application. The reach is approximately 17" but there are other variables involved which make that number little lower. Also, its a little under powered for that application.I think you would need a 1/4hp v.s for that application. Hope this helps.

Answer:	The mini doesn't have a very long reach but if you can mount it and get it positioned where you want it it will definitely run the material.

Answer:	I don’t think I is large enough to feed large lumber through a joiner. I use my to feed 3/16 plexiglass to round the edges with a router. I think you will need a larger heavier feeder with more HP and larger wheels to feed lumber onto a joiner. I had a larger feeder that I used for feeding lumber into a joiner years ago and it did the trick.

Convenient Control Panel

Auto and Manual Feed

The M1015 features a manual feed handwheel which moves the carriage left or right along the bed. This control is helpful when setting up the machine for turning or when manual movement is desired during turning operations. Easily engage and disengage the feed from automatic to manual feed with the feed clutch.

Thread Cutting

This lathe has the ability to cut threads of 16, 18, 19, 20, and 24 threads per inch. Included is a gear ratio threading chart to help you determine which gears to use to acquire your desired threads per inch.

Answer:	Not as loud as my shop vac!
Question:	Will this work good if I'm grinding steel on a belt grinder
Answer:	the dust collector is not made to work with metal grinding.
Question:	Can I use a triac based motor speed controller to dial down the vacuum? Sometimes I don't need a lot of suction but I need it for hours and hours
Answer:	Rockler sells a quick connect handle for a 4" and 2 1/2" attachment that allows you to open the port partially and reduce the amount of suction...I would look into that first, before going to the speed controller option sir.....also, it only costs about $14
Question:	I would prefer to simply throw out a bag full of dust and replace it with a new one. Is there a standard size plastic bag that can be purchased
Answer:	Here are Big Horn 14" bags that will fit the W1727 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003NE5A8M/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ! The Big Horn bags are 2" longer, 1" less diameter (still fits the 1727) and a little thinner mil spec (like regular visqueen vs HD visqueen) . At less than $2 a bag, I'd certainly consider these "throw-a-ways"!

Easy Fine Filter and Collection Bag Removal

The W1727 lower bag stores 2.1 cubic feet of collected dust in a plastic bag with a quick disconnect bag clamp. To empty the bag simply unlatch the retaining band clamp, remove the lower bag from the dust collector and empty the dust and chips into a garbage can. The upper bag filters wood dust down to 2.5 microns from the collected air, and allows the dust to fall and deposit in the lower dust collection bag.
