9 best wet saw blades

Wet saw blades are specialized cutting tools used in conjunction with wet tile saws and other similar power tools for cutting through various materials, including ceramic tile, porcelain tile, stone, and glass. These blades are designed to operate with a continuous flow of water, which helps cool the blade and suppress dust during the cutting process. Here's what you need to know about wet saw blades:

  1. Materials: Wet saw blades are typically made with diamond-tipped cutting edges.Diamond is one of the hardest materials, making it ideal for cutting through hard and abrasive materials like tile and stone.

  2. Continuous Water Flow: Unlike dry saw blades, wet saw blades require a constant flow of water to keep them cool and lubricated during the cutting process. This water also helps reduce dust and debris, making it a cleaner and safer cutting method.

  3. Types: Wet saw blades come in various types to suit different cutting applications. Common types include continuous rim blades (for smooth cuts), segmented blades (for faster cutting of harder materials), and turbo blades (for a combination of speed and smoothness).

  4. Sizes: Wet saw blades are available in a range of sizes to accommodate different saws and project requirements. The size of the blade you need depends on the size and thickness of the material you're cutting.

  5. Arbor Size: Ensure that the wet saw blade you choose has the correct arbor size to fit your specific saw. The arbor is the center hole in the blade that attaches to the saw's spindle.

  6. Usage: Wet saw blades are primarily used for precision cutting in tile and stone installation projects, such as cutting tiles for flooring, backsplashes, countertops, and mosaics. They are also useful for shaping and trimming tiles.

  7. Safety Precautions: When using wet saw blades, it's important to wear appropriate safety gear, including eye protection and hearing protection. Additionally, always follow the manufacturer's guidelines for operating the wet saw and maintaining the blade.

  8. Maintenance: Proper maintenance of wet saw blades involves cleaning them regularly to remove any debris and ensuring that the water supply system is functioning correctly. Dull blades should be replaced to maintain cutting efficiency and safety.

  9. Longevity: The lifespan of a wet saw blade depends on various factors, including the quality of the blade, the materials being cut, and how well it is maintained. High-quality blades tend to last longer and deliver cleaner cuts.

In summary, wet saw blades are essential tools for precise and clean cutting of materials like tile and stone when used with a wet tile saw. They are made with diamond-tipped edges, require a continuous water flow for cooling and dust suppression, and come in various types and sizes to suit different cutting needs. Proper maintenance and safety precautions are crucial for their effective and safe use.

User questions & answers

Question: Will this fit all saws that require 10" x 5/8"? These are the specs for my ryobi miter saw, but is there some other spec
Answer: I am unsure of the arbor size on your saw, but the blade should fit any circular or miter saw that has a 5/8 inch arbor. I have a rigid tile saw and no problems. They lasted longer than any other blade a tried and were well balanced
Question: Does this blade need to be installed a certain direction
Answer: It has been quite awhile since I installed this blade, but I do not recall any directional markings, as with any continuos rim diamond blades. I installed it label out and it has worked flawlessly since!
Question: Max RPM
Answer: I bought to use on a three horse power wet saw, 3000 to 4000 rpm. It cuts very smoothly.
Question: will this blade work well for cutting agate and other hard stones
Answer: It cuts granite, so it should work for agate. I'm not sure what you mean by "other hard stones." Diamond will cut every stone on earth (including other diamonds). However, this isn't a lapidary blade. For one, it's thicker than most lapidary blades and you will waste a lot of material in the cutting. Second, there aren't as many diamonds on this as on a lapidary blade so the blade won't last nearly as long. What do you want to cut?

User questions & answers

Question: Can this cut SPC flooring
Answer: It worked very poorly on bricks/concrete. It's not a very good blade in general, and I would not try it on nails. Get a blade specifically designed for metal.
Question: Will this blade work on a worx wx427l 4.5" circualr saw
Answer: It’s meant for cutting bricks, which it does okay with. Its a bit duller than a wood cutting blade.
Question: I wonder how well this cuts hard thin veneer stone
Answer: You can mount pretty much any direction. I just wouldn’t face them up, water would collect and ruin.
Question: Some of the blades have a secondary hole, is this a guide pin? Will this work on arbor w/o this pin
Answer: Doesn’t say it is. But hey, if you need a loud horn to save your butt. Go for for it. What’s the worse thing could happen. You get a fix it ticket? Just don’t use it for fun. Use to get out of harms way. Good Luck

WHAT KIND OF DIAMOND BLADE DO I NEED?

Selecting the size of the diamond blade is all dependent on what tool you are using, as well as the material you are trying to cut. Every application will vary on the task at hand, as well as the bore size and segment height of the blade.

DECIDE WHICH IS MOST IMPORTANT

The initial price of the tool or the cost per cut. For smaller jobs or occasional use, a low priced tool may be preferable. For larger jobs or regular use, a higher priced tool will actually be less expensive to use because it will deliver the lowest cost per cut.

KNOW THE TYPE AND POWER OF YOUR EQUIPMENT

Will you be using a 5-hp power cutter or a 70-hp flat saw? The answer will dramatically impact blade choice. The diamond blade size, whether you can use a wet or dry blade and the rpms needed to spin the blade all depend on the equipment.

CORRECTLY IDENTIFY WHAT YOU ARE CUTTING

Correctly identifying the material to be cut is the most important factor in choosing a diamond blade. It directly affects the cutting speed and the life of the blade. When you know the material our diamond tool specification sheet help you find the most suitable tool. As a general rule, determine the material which will be cut most often, or the material for which top blade performance is most important.

CHOOSE WET OR DRY CUTTING

Choosing wet or dry may be a matter of user preference or job requirement. Wet cutting is usually preferred because you can cut deeper when using water as a coolant. For tile and masonry saws, either wet or dry cutting blades can be used. For power cutters, dry blades are more popular, but they are often used wet to control dust. Wet blades MUST be used with water. Dry blades may be used either dry or wet, depending on the job and the equipment.

  • Arbor: 7/8"-5/8" bushing, Rim height .395"(10mm). Size is 7"x.070"x.395"/10mm.
  • Hot-pressed sintered blade: Ideal for high speed cutting of hard masonry tile
  • Please use wet cutting to prevent the cutting edge from being damaged and not smooth.
  • Designed for: Ceramic tiles and porcelain.
  • Applicable models: Angle grinder, Circular saw, Hand-held power saw, Masonry saw, Wet cutting.

User questions & answers

Question: Does this blade have a 1" arbor size
Answer: I am using it on a MK660 with 3500 RPM, but I also have a friend using it on a MK 377 exp with 5500 RPM without any problem. Most important is enough with cooling water and that you sharpen the disc now and then. Another interesting disc is also the new BOSCH diamond disc for glass....
Question: Will it cut glass tiles
Answer: 5/8" ARBOR IS STANDARD. wHAT SAW IS IT?
Question: Why did I receive an 7/8" arbor when the description said
Answer: No...using a wet saw - no need to dress blade.
Question: what do you mean by segment dimension? Also, I am using a 1.5 hp saw. Will this blade work with this horse power
Answer: It is depends of the material. I am using it for cutting fused glass 6-8 mm with layers of dichroic glass between, a very tuff material for the blade. We are using the saw twice a week for 3-4 hours nonstop cutting every time and change the blade every 2 month to avoid splitter from the glass. So it means at least 60-80 hours hard work for the blade. We have plenty of other blades, but are always coming back to this. Important is house a sharpening stone for diamond blades regular keep the water in the saw clean and let the saw make the job without pushing.

Question: Will it fit a dewalt angle grinder tool, 7-inch, 13-amp (dw
Answer: I'm not sure, It depends on the arbor size on your grinder. The package I have says 5/8 7/8. It has an insert you can remove for the 7/8 arbor. I run mine on a 7.25 skill saw. Works well, it might be a handful on an angle grinder. Good luck

User questions & answers

Question: What kind of bond does this blade have
Answer: I'm not sure because I didn't do that, but I drilled through solid stone with no problems at all, so I'm guessing you can.
Question: The question about using this blade to cut glass was not answered. What blade will I need to cut glass
Answer: Mine burn out after two holes in ceramic tile lol
Question: Can this blade be used in the DeWalt saw with the UK voltage? I think I read somewhere the arbor sizes are different. Many thanks
Answer: I would save these bits for drilling porcelain tiles; and you'll need to keep spraying water on the bit to cool it off. If you just want to drill holes in concrete, get standard masonry bits and use a hammer drill. Spend an extra $50 and get a good one. The best bit in the world won't drill concrete with a standard drill. You need a hammer drill.
Question: My saw is 4000 RPM, what is this blade rated to
Answer: A regular drill works great- no hammer drill needed.

User questions & answers

Question: What is the return policy
Answer: they do make a leather belt for sharping knifes or go with a 400 to 600 grit belt sanding // note i use my sander for wood work // hope my answer will help
Question: What is the kerf or the width of the cut made by this blade? Does it really cut smoother and less chips than a regular continuous blade
Answer: 600 to 800 grit is best. robert
Question: Hi i was trying to used this blade on my 7 inch chicago electric bridge tile saw the saw keeps cutting out once the blade ii on the saw (whats wrong
Answer: Aron, The "better sanding strips" can be used with water, but first and most important is what are you needing to do to use water on, and very important is applying water to the strip. I use water for fine polishing and quick cutting. I started using water for an abrasive conditioner in my work, and I actually was "electricuted, lightly" from me applying water on the strip improperly. Use a fine spray to keep the "amount of need water" flowing. Do not spray anywhere else for safety reasions.Hope this helps,Robertw
Question: What is the return policy
Answer: About 8 x 10" guessing. I don't know for sure because I sent it back. I started getting electrical shocks from the case. I don't recommend this product, it's junk.
Question: I bought this to use on my 7/8" arbor tile saw. Can you please tell me how to get the 5/8" washer out, and replace with the 7/8" washer
Answer: Not sure what you mean by counter clockwise. If you are viewing the machine from the side where the dust collection port is, the belt rotates clockwise, if you look at the machine from the side the motor is on, it rotates counter clockwise. When sanding something on the table the belt surface is moving toward the table (or floor) when running.
Question: Cómo hago para cambiar un Disco
Answer: 300 watts

User questions & answers

Question: Can this blade be used on a table saw
Answer: This makes no sense. Why would anyone lock the drum?
Question: How many cuts can you get using this blade? on stones
Answer: If you don't mind getting the unit filled with metal dust and transferring it to any wood you may be working on.
Question: will this work well for mosaic glass mesh tile
Answer: AMAZON JET 723521 16 DRUM SANDER EXTENCION INFEED/OUTFEED TABLES
Question: Will this work on table saw
Answer: I guess it will all depend on what you are trying to do. What kind of stock and how much shaping is needed vs. how rough are you willing to accept. But let me take a shot at this anyway. The lower the number (in this case, 100 or less) will take more off. This is belt is 400 grade, so it is almost to the level of polishing. Now this assumes wood, I plan to use this to reset edges on whittling knives. (I finish with 1000 to 2000 for a polish and then a leather stropping belt to finish the polish.) So one man's rough is another man's polish... Anyway, this is a one inch belt, so if you are looking to really shape some wood with a sander you may want to look at a 3" belt sander. There are some really good belt AND disk sanders (I use one of these too) that do an outstanding job at shaping. Last thing, just a suggestion based on your question, try a sample pack. Get a set of belts that range from around 80 to 220 or higher. Then see what works best for what YOU want to do. After all, 10 belts that are WAY TO FINE would be a waste. On the other hand if your stock is like balsa wood, this would actually be perfect. FYI, at this level of grit you can even do work on light plastic. So again, what you are working on and just how you want it removed (fast/rough) will effect what is "best".
