10 best 8 inch tile saw blades
An 8-inch tile saw blade is a type of circular saw blade specifically designed for cutting through various types of tile materials. Here are some key points related to 8-inch tile saw blades:
Size:
- The "8-inch" designation refers to the diameter of the saw blade. This size is suitable for smaller to medium-sized tile cutting applications.
Material:
- 8-inch tile saw blades are often made with a diamond cutting edge. Diamond is one of the hardest materials, making it effective for cutting through hard and abrasive tile surfaces.
Diamond Blades:
- Diamond blades are known for their durability and ability to cut through hard materials like ceramic, porcelain, marble, and granite. The diamond particles are bonded to the blade's edge.
Segmented Blades:
- Many tile saw blades are segmented, meaning they have gaps or slots in the rim. This design helps with cooling and dust removal during the cutting process.
Wet vs. Dry Cutting:
- Some 8-inch tile saw blades are designed for wet cutting, which involves using water to cool the blade and reduce dust. Wet cutting is common for professional tile work.Dry-cutting blades are also available for certain applications.
Compatibility:
- Ensure that the 8-inch tile saw blade is compatible with the tile saw you are using. Different saws may have specific requirements regarding blade size and attachment.
Application:
- Tile saw blades are specifically designed for cutting tiles, whether for flooring, walls, or other applications. They are not typically suitable for cutting other materials like wood or metal.
Precision and Clean Cuts:
- Diamond tile saw blades are known for providing precise and clean cuts, important for achieving professional-looking results in tile installations.
Safety Precautions:
- When using a tile saw with an 8-inch blade, it's important to follow safety guidelines. Safety glasses, hearing protection, and proper dust control measures may be necessary.
Maintenance:
- Regular cleaning and maintenance of the blade can extend its lifespan. Diamond blades can become clogged with debris during cutting, affecting performance.
When selecting an 8-inch tile saw blade, consider the type of tile you'll be cutting, whether wet or dry cutting is preferred, and the compatibility with your tile saw. Following the manufacturer's guidelines for both the saw and the blade is crucial for achieving efficient and safe cutting results.

User questions & answers
Question: | What is the return policy |
Answer: | I thought it was in the specs on the Amazon page, but couldn't find it. If it's important to you, see if you can find a phone number for Oshlun, or check their website. All I know is that this is a heck of a blade. Glass smooth cuts, and less "grab" on my RAS which is usually a problem for my underpowered motor. Just looking at my blade, I suspect its about 2-3 degrees negative, but thats just a guess. |
Question: | What is the kerf or the width of the cut made by this blade? Does it really cut smoother and less chips than a regular continuous blade |
Answer: | I don't know but the blade dulled out on me after about 20 cuts. (laminate flooring). ended up buying brand name blade. |
Question: | Hi i was trying to used this blade on my 7 inch chicago electric bridge tile saw the saw keeps cutting out once the blade ii on the saw (whats wrong |
Answer: | first, compare the arbor size. If it matches up and your miter saw is indeed a 12" saw then it will fit. |
Question: | What is the return policy |
Answer: | I am not a woodworking professional but the rule is "more teeth = finer cut". That said carbide teeth are extreley effective and make superior cuts. On any cut to give the best appereance cut from the back so the teeth are cutting into the finished surface. When you cut from the top the teeth are pushing up into the finished face and on laminate that may cause some chipping. |

User questions & answers
Question: | How thin..what is the kerf..of the "super thin" goyonder 4.5 " tile blade |
Answer: | From my understanding, it helps keep the blade cool and aides in preventing g-up. I’ve used both. For circ saws and miter saws, I prefer the red coating. Table saws, like the raw metallic. Hope this helps |
Question: | Will this work for 1-1/8" Travertine pavers |
Answer: | Is a preference. I do like the "m" silver ice coating better (more durable) for production environment. Also, I'm using freud blades for decades and have yet to see any advantage in the red teflon coating. But again is preference, some people like the red perma shield better. |
Question: | Is there an option for a thicker blade? My tile saw has a safety shield that is held by an .063 thick metal bracket and this blade is .055" thick |
Answer: | The kerf is approximately 0.1" or 3mm |
Question: | Is the arbor 7/8 or |
Answer: | I can't be totally certain, but it is very likely it would be ok. You should attach something to one of your 8" blades temporarily (like tape on a thin piece of wood), that extends out 1/4 to 3/8th inch beyond the blade tips, and manually rotate it to see if everything clears. I'd suggest going out 3/8ths inch for a bit of safety factor. The Oshlun blade is so good that it would be worth trying it out in that manner. If there is the slightest chance of having a clearance problem after checking it in this manner, don't try it. Oshlun makes 8" blades and I'm certain they have something that has the same quality/price in that size. The negative hook on the 8 1/2" blade is specifically designed for radial arm type cutting (to avoid kick back, I suspect), and that's not a typical characteristic of a table saw blade (though I don't think cut quality would be compromised). I just know that on my 9" radial arm saw, the Oshlun performs exceptionally well, with a cut quality equivalent to my Forrest blade on my table saw. The price/quality ratio is fantastic. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Has anyone used this blade to sharpen carbide tipped combination blades |
Answer: | Based on what I read on the blade, it is meant to be used on aluminum or non-ferrous metals. Not meant for use on plastics. That does not meant it could not cut plastic, but lots of others blades can as well and may be cheaper to replace. |
Question: | can this blade cut metal |
Answer: | You need to check the rpm rating on your miter saw. This blade is not designed to cut above 2,000 rpms |
Question: | can I use this to cut agates and other stones |
Answer: | Yes. Great blade by the way. Freud makes some very good blades. |
Question: | How does this do with porcelain tile? I see that they mention "slate and ceramic on the blade itself. All of my work it with porcelain |
Answer: | All of our blades are re-sharpened unless damaged (loss of teeth), so yes they can be re-sharpened. |

User questions & answers
Question: | How's this blade for cutting marble tile |
Answer: | It cuts the PVC tube very well ... |
Question: | Has anyone used this blade to cut glass tile |
Answer: | yes it will. I have cut aluminum 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 angle .25 inch thick L-angle on a dewalt 10 inch chop saw. Cuts clean with without burrs. But you cant go too fast especially when trimming. It will drag the trimming back into the blade. |
Question: | Looking for a diamond blade to cut mosaic glass tile |
Answer: | Haven’t cut acrylic with it. Bought it to cut aluminum extrusions and it worked fine for that. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can this cut SPC flooring |
Answer: | Yes, this machine can engrave and milling on mild steel or metal. The American version of this machine works at 110V, and this product is American version, so it is 110V. The European version is 220V. If you need 220V, please contact us. But i'm sorry that this machine just has chinese and English language. |
Question: | Will this blade work on a worx wx427l 4.5" circualr saw |
Answer: | In short - yes. The saw blade cut is about and 1/8" wide, so 2 cuts would be close to your needed 1/4" wide, it will be difficult to do this in such a small tube, but it could be done if you are careful and precision is not the important part. |
Question: | I wonder how well this cuts hard thin veneer stone |
Answer: | I don't see a maximum thickness specified, but I used this blade to make about 120 cuts in 1x2x1/8" rectangle, 40 cuts in 2x2x3/16" angle and a dozen cuts in 2x2x1/4" square as well as a couple of trailer hitch bars. I found on my saw, the blades last longer if I make the cut, release the trigger & wait for the blade to stop before raising the handle. I was knocking the carbides off by raising the blade with it spinning and catching the metal with the "back" of the carbides. |
Question: | Some of the blades have a secondary hole, is this a guide pin? Will this work on arbor w/o this pin |
Answer: | Yes the more teeth on a saw blade the finer the finish of the cut |
Question: | What is the size of the whole in the middle please |
Answer: | Yes you can, I cut some pretty heavy gauge aluminum with it |
Question: | Did those unhappy use water |
Answer: | This is a 10” blade and will fit a 10” miter saw, but it’s unsafe to exceed the max speed of the blade, so check the Delta saw for blade speed. This blade is rated at 5500rpm Max. I use mine on a table saw that has a max speed of 3450rpm |
Question: | What is the arbor size |
Answer: | Generally for wood you use a blade that has teeth with a forward positive rake (more of a hook to it, with teeth pointing forward). With a blade for non-ferrous like this one, it will have a zero or negative rake, meaning the teeth are straight up or even slightly back. So then, it will cut wood but not as fast because there is not much shearing action going on |
Question: | Can you cut glass tiles with this blade |
Answer: | I have not tried it but it may and will likely loose teeth because of the blade speed on a typical table saw. I would not recommend it for cutting mild steel. Also keep in mind the sparks are an ignition source for accumulated sawdust. |
