Phenolic Zero Clearance Insert for Delta Uni-Saw Contractor | Large Grizzly and Other Table Saws with a 13-3/8” x 3-3/4” x 1/2” Throat Plate Opening

Peachtree Woodworking Supply

Based on 226 reviews Check latest price
  • MEASURE YOUR FACTORY INSERT AND COMPARE SIZE BEFORE YOU ORDER. Zero Clearance inserts are table saw specific. Since every table saw brand and manufacturer is different, we recommend that you measure the exact length, width and thickness of your table saw insert or opening and compare it to the size we list. Also be aware of the shape of your current insert of whether its round, square ends or if there are any indents or protruding notches. Insert colors may vary from images shown.
  • If you own a table saw, then you probably have had smaller pieces of wood get caught between the saw blade and the factory supplied throat plate opening. This can cause that piece of wood to jam up against the blade and go flying across the room or worse yet, right back at you. Zero clearances help minimize this situation from happening since there is no gap between the blade and the zero clearance opening. The opening is more like a custom slot cut to the exact width of your table saw blade.
  • Another great reason to use a zero clearance insert is to help reduce that pesky and irritating tear out you always tend to get on your cuts. Without a zero clearance, the wood has no support by the blade to prevent the wood from tearing out. This is especially true when cutting plywood. Zero clearance inserts help prevent tear out by essentially enveloping the blade on all sides which doesn’t allow the wood to tear out since there is not gap between the blade and insert.
  • Zero Clearance inserts can be used in conjunction with most any table saw blade including thin kerf, standard kerf and carbide tipped blades. You can also use zero clearance inserts with dado blade sets. The reason you would use zero clearance inserts with dado blades is to reduce the amount of tear out the dado blade set produces. We recommend that you use separate zero clearance inserts for dado blades since the gap for dados will be much wider than standard width table saw blades.
  • This zero clearance insert is made from a high density phenolic material that was chosen for its ability to stand up to everyday workshop use. The insert features two Snug Fit sand-able side tabs that allow you to remove a little material at a time for a perfect fit if necessary. The insert also features a top and a side Snug Fit Screw for a tight fit to you saw with no movement!

User questions & answers

Question: Will this fit a Craftsman 103.2000, 9" table saw
Answer: No it won’t
Question: Will this fit a grizzly 1022Z table saw
Answer: I purchased several for my G1022. I just had to slightly modify the fit with a hand file and sander.
Question: Will this fit an older Rockwell/Delta model
Answer: This is made to fit the Delta Uni-saw and Delta's contractor saws (New & Old) along with the other table saws listed in the description. I have a old Delta Uni-saw with a Ser.# that dates back to 1942 that I had refurbished I had no problem fitting it to my saw lots of adjustments UP and Down Side to Side to get a tight fit no major gaps it may not be an original part, but it very close. Hope that helps
Question: will phenolic material hold up if edge is reduced to 1/8 inch thick? My older Delta tabel saw throat plate rests on a 1/8" lip
Answer: I have the same 1/8th inch lip on my Delta 36-600 that would need the same solution. Does someone know what zero clearance blank I could use that will either fit the saw or allow for an edge rabbet transition around the perimeter?

Eliminate The Gap From Factory Inserts

Many of us who own table saws know all too well what happens when a small, thin piece of wood gets stuck or wedged between the blade and the opening on a factory supplied throat plate insert. The end result can be a visit to the hospital or even worse. Zero clearance inserts help minimize the chances of this happening by eliminating the gap that would normally surround your table saw blade. By doing this, the zero clearance won't allow for a small but dangerous piece of wood to get wedged in the factory plate and possibly kick-back at you.

High Quality Construction and Materials

This zero clearance insert is made from high quality phenolic material. We chose this material because of its superior rigidity, flatness, durability, low friction and its ability to last a very long time even after repeated daily use. Another reason we chose phenolic is that it can also be shaped to exacting specifications without breaking down like other materials used to make zero clearances can. This is one of the densest, longest lasting and durable zero clearances available today!

Sandable Tabs

Some table saw manufactures list there specs as a certain size. The actual tolerances however can be slightly different from what the manufacture states due to the manufacturing process from saw to saw. The snug fit tab on the side of this insert can be sanded down so that the zero clearance fits just right for your saw and creates the perfect fit! This allows for a custom fit with out having to sand down the entire edge.

Side Screw

We have also added a snug fit side adjustable screw. This screw is to be adjusted in or out to eliminate any side to side play in the insert.By adjusting the side screw you will ensure a tight fit so that the insert does not move creating a true custom fit to your saw. This is important so that the insert stay as close to the cutting edge of the saw eliminating any possible tear out especially when cutting plywood.

End Screw

Much like the snug fit side adjustable screw, the snug fit end screw is to be adjusted if you have any play in the insert from the front to the back. This adjustment will allow you to custom the insert to your saw for that perfect fit eliminating any sort of movement in the insert.Once all your adjustments are set the pre-drilled finger hole makes removing the insert quick and simple.

Measure Before You Order

  • Length = 13-3/8”
  • Width = 3-3/4”
  • Thickness = 1/2”
  • Laminated Phenolic
  • Side Snug Fit Screw
  • End Snug Fit Screw
  • Sandable Snug Fit Tabs

User questions & answers

Question: can i mount a cast iron extension table for my router on the left side? I dont see any holes
Answer: Hey Jeffery.I looked under the table and what I see is that the table itself is an "egg crate" casting to give the table strength with relative weight savings. The edge of the table (left side) has been cast flat, or parallel, with the outside vertical surface i.e. it's not tapered. That is good news for you because it can be drilled. The flat surface on the inside will allow for a washer and nut to hold in place without slipping. The question of router table weight is the concern. If it were mine I would provide a support leg under the attached table, either plumbed vertical or diagonal back toward the base of the saw. good luck.
Question: Does the tablesaw come in one box? If not how many boxes and the respective dimensions please
Answer: It comes in several boxes stacked on a pallet. The wooden pallet is approximately 3.5 ft by 3.5 ft and it is stacked 4 ft tall. It is all wrapped together on the pallet with plastic wrap. The truck driver moves it around using a pallet jack.
Question: Are the trunnions cabinet mounted or table mounted
Answer: They do mount to the cabinet frame, but they actually look a lot like the table mounted trunnion brackets. They're an improvement from table mounted trunions, but are not the large industrial yoke style brackets that span from corner to corner of the cabinet that many of us associate with the term "cabinet mounted trunnions". Instead, they bolt to front and rear frame struts...very similar to the Jet Proshop system. You can view the exploded parts pictorial in the manual to get a better idea of the trunnion system.
Question: So which would be the best saw to buy: (other than cost) the pm1000 or the 64b? and why? i'm having a tough time deciding
Answer: I looked at the same comparison and chose the PM1000. Reasons: (1) Mass. The PM1000 weighs significantly more, and thus will have less vibration/undesired movement during use. (2) Trunnion mounting is reportedly more secure in PM1000 vs 64B. (3) Switch. The magnetic on/off switch of the PM1000 is much more readily accessed with a knee or a blind reach with a hand while keeping eyes on the work. (4) Dust collection. Appears to be much better with PM1000, as long as one has a decent dust collection plan/system. (5) Assembly. (Unsure about this one.) I’ve been told there’s much more assembly to be done with 64B than with PM1000.

Answer: I can get one but don’t have one right now
Question: I have an older 10" craftsman table saw which i want to use this for dust collection in conjunction with a dust deputy. what adapters would i need
Answer: I am in the same boat...I have the Craftsman 10" Table Saw Model # 218073. It comes with a bag, but I really want to eliminate sawdust so I am getting the Dust Deputy. What do you recommend I will need to attach this hood?
Question: What’s the i.d. and o.d. of the dust port
Answer: o.d. 3 3/4" i.d. 3 1/2" The 4" hoses fit it well.
Question: Will this work with a Ryobi table saw
Answer: You need to measure the opening below your saw where the sawdust drops to the ground. The dust fitting measures exactly 14 1/16" X 14 1/16". I attached mine with 1/2" self tapping sheet metal screws and it works great with my dust collector!!

Rockwell BladeRunner X2 Portable Tabletop Saw with Steel Rip Fence, Miter Gauge, and 7 Accessories – RK7323

Rockwell

Based on 2 reviews Check latest price

Product description

The Rockwell BladeRunner X2 Portable Tabletop Saw is the solution to the problem of having to take materials back to the workshop to cut them, and then bring them back to the job site later on. If you’re a contractor, you know that that process can add an entire day to a project. The BladeRunner is only 15 lbs, so while stable and sturdy, it’s easy to toss in the back of the truck. And with a footprint of only 15.75” x 17”, it doesn’t take up an entire workbench like traditional table saws. The hold-down guard and splitter allow for work with wider materials, and a larger rip fence than other portable table saws provides better control and accurate cuts. A no-load speed of 3000/min, a stroke length of ¾”, with 5.5 amps of power gives it the capacity for light to moderate cutting of wood (up to 1-1/2”), ceramic tile (3/8”), PVC pipe (1-1/4”), aluminum (3/8”), and steel (1/8”). (Anything over 1-1/2” and you’re probably going to need a traditional, permanently fixed tabletop saw—but you can’t take that to the job site.) The blades change out almost instantly, in under 3 seconds once you get the hang of the tool-less blade change system. And the saw is protected by a Rockwell 3-year limited warranty, so you know they stand behind their tools.

  • [SETS UP IN SECONDS] Take this table saw to the job site or move it around the workshop. There’s even a built-in carry handle
  • [CUTS LIKE A FULL-SIZE] With the standard guard and riving knife system you can perform rip, cross, scroll, and miter cuts
  • [TOOL-LESS BLADE CHANGE] Uses any brand’s standard 4” T-shank blade, but we threw 5 in the box to get you started cutting wood, ceramic tile, plastic, aluminum, and metal
  • [0-60° MITER CUTS] With the adjustable gauge you can pull off precise miter cuts for a whole assortment of woodworking projects
  • [ON-BOARD ACCESSORY STORAGE] When the miter gauge, rip fence, and extra blades aren’t in use they can be conveniently housed in the base of the saw
  • [SAFETY SWITCH] Prevents accidental starting, plus the vacuum port lets you hook up a shop vac that cleans while you cut

User questions & answers

Answer: It is a 30mm arbor. You have to get metric sizes in blades.

Question: Can it hold up to regular use with 1" hardwood like maple and ash? If not, what will

Product features

Shop Fox W1837 Open-Stand Hybrid Tablesaw

With the Shop Fox W1837, you get the best of both worlds. The easy-to-transport weight and size of a high-end contractor saw, but with dust control and the full features of a cabinet saw. Just like the Shop Fox professional cabinet saws, this hybrid also has a quick-change blade guard with anti-kickback pawls that can be positioned away from the workpiece. This saw will surely be the envy of any that see it in a shop or worksite.

Interchangeable true riving knife

The interchangeable true riving knife offers protection for non-through cutting operations that require you to remove the blade guard.

Built-In Mobile Base

The W1837 features a handy built-in kickstand operated mobile base. With a simple push down on the foot levers the machine rises off it's otherwise stable feet to become mobile so you can easily move it to your new desired location.

Robust Cabinet Mounted Trunnions

Just like standard cabinet saws, the W1837 trunnions mount to the cabinet for superior performance. The robust cast iron trunnions absorb vibration, ensure proper blade-to-fence and miter slot alignment and make blade height and angle adjustments a breeze.

Enclosed cabinet bottom with 4-inch dust port

The enclosed cabinet bottom features a dust chute with a 4-inch port. Keep your work area free of dust and debris when connecting a dust collector with at least 400 CFM available.

Blade Tilt

The blade can tilt to the left from anywhere between 0 and 45-degrees. Great for cutting bevels, compound miters or chamfers. Easily adjust your cutting angle by loosening the blade tilt lock and turning the blade tilt handwheel to position the blade at the desired angle, then lock it in place for consistent repeat angled cuts.

Quick‐Release Blade Guard Assembly

The W1837 blade guard assembly consists of important safety features.

The clear guard allows the operator to watch the blade cut the workpiece during operation while maintaining a barrier around the blade that prevents accidental contact and keeps flying wood chips contained.

The spreader/riving knife is a metal plate that prevents the newly cut kerf in the workpiece from pinching the back side of the blade, and otherwise causing potential kickback.

The anti-kickback pawls allow the workpiece to travel in only one direction. If the workpiece moves backwards, such as during a kickback, the pawls will dig into the workpiece to slow or stop it.

Jet,Grizzly,Power Matic 64 Zero Clearance Insert for Table Saws

Based on 46 reviews Check latest price

Product description

Replace your factory table saw insert with a phenolic zero clearance insert. Zero Clearance inserts help prevent kickback and tear-out on your stock pieces when feeding through a table saw blade. By raising your blade up through the insert, you eliminate gaps between the side of the insert and the blade. This provides with much better stock support than with most factory inserts that come with the saw. This also prevents smaller stock pieces from falling into the opening that exists with factory inserts. Zero clearance inserts can be used with any type of standard saw blade (standard or thin kerf blades) and can also be used with dado blades. It is recommended that if you need an insert to accommodate both a standard saw blade and a dado blade, that you purchase two separate zero clearance inserts. Use one for your normal cuts and one for dado cuts.

  • Insert Dimensions: 12-1/2” x 3-9/16” x 7/16” - JT-164 Jet/Powermatic 64A Zero-Clearance Table Saw Insert

  • Small Jet, Grizzly, Powermatic 64 insert will fitvarious models of table saws.
  • Includes leveling screws, side and end adjustment screws;pre-cut blade bottom pocket
  • Please check your Length x Width x Thickness of your current insert before ordering

User questions & answers

Question: Im looking for a zero clearance insert for a dewalt dwe7480. Will this fit
Answer: Simple answer is to measure your slot opening or you can make your own from material you might have around the shop. It's not highly technical if you have much shop experience.
Question: can you spin it around so the finger hole is facing the back of the saw so you can make a dado opening
Answer: I see no reason why one can't spin it around. There are areas underneath that are hollowed out, but that shouldn't interfere with creating a dado opening.
Question: Will this fit Powermatic PM
Answer: Measure first!!!
Question: Will this work on a kobalt table saw
Answer: I'm not sure, but don't count on it. Each manufacturer had their own design measurements. I learned this the hard way by buying an aftermarket zero tolerance for my Grizzly tablesaw, and it didn't fit. So your caution is justified.
