Answer:	No, this is not a true full tang knife. It has a rat tail tang, meaning it extends the full length of the handle but not even close to the full width, significantly reducing the structural durability. Be warned, this is not a bushcraft knife. This is a combat knife. It was meant for combat, not chopping down trees and processing wood. If you put it through that, don't be surprised when (not if) it breaks. Excellent design for combat use though. I'd take it to Iraq, but not the woods.

Answer:	The only RTAK worth owning, is the original. The 1st gen RTAKs are more tough; less brittle. You certainly won't shatter it (unlike the RTAK II)! Given how difficult it would be to find a gen-one RTAK though, I'd just go with the BK9..

Answer:	I had the same "wonderful" problem, so I purchased both of them. At the end I decided to keep the BK9 and send the BK7 back. This is my analysis and strictly my opinion: The BK9 can do 80% of all the things the BK7 can do. The BK9 has a much much stronger blade point and thus is far superior for batoning. The BK9 is the knife that is in a special category and looks, feels and can do probably everything that the MAJORITY of your other knifes can NOT do. The BK9 is THE knife that I would keep, if I were given only ONE CHOICE of knifes to own. In my particular case, the BK7 would have been just "another one of those MANY knives" that are stored in my closet and just sit around, waiting to be used....but are not! The BK9 has to work hard, gets no rest and gets not pampered. It truly is one of those incredibly good knives.

Answer:	Yes it is full tang .. 1095 HC it has a really rough Finnish on it that is very strong.. 1095 HC can rust though so if u rem oil it it'll b fine this is honestly my favorite knife I own and definitely the toughest knife out there it sharpens up very well and stays sharp the handle is ok but if you want u can upgrade that or put the tennis racket grips over the existing handle to give it more grip the sheath at first I thought it wasn't to great but I now really like it .. It is definitely the best knife for 80 $ out there for the cash you are not going to brake this knife

Answer:	The coating is insanely tough, I've beat the hell out of this blade and everything from the handle to the coating have held up great. This thing is a tank!

Answer:	Over the years I have seen 99% of the products that I buy from certain Far East countries to fall apart within a year of purchase. 99% of what I have bought from Europe, North America, South America, Japan and so on last for years and years. Nothing against anybody or country, just my experience. One more thing, as weird as it seems to some, supporting production in the country you are from, wherever that happens to be, is common sense.

Answer:	You may need to use Malice Clips to fully secure the sheath to the MOLLE webbing. I tried it with para-cord and it worked ok, but Malice Clips weave into the webbing and have holes spaced appropriately for the webbing and the KYDEX KA-BAR Fighting Knife sheath.

Answer:	The sheath is of a nylon material with plastic insert and is very well-made. Regardless it’s well-made nature the sheath is way too large, cumbersome and could be scaled back significantly to the size of the knife.

Answer:	sp 10 has a sabre grind, sp 5 has a flat grind, as well as the sp 10 being a heavier blade.

Answer:	It is 1/4 thick and is flat ground
Question:	What kind of tang does it have
Answer:	Because of the balance issue with this model OKC knife. I decided to remove the molded handle and replace it and the finger guard with heavier brass and animal bone pieces. Well let me tell you that the handle falling or pulling off of the blade is not ever going to be a problem! It took two hours of hard work to get the handle off of the blade. This is a true full tang knife and it’s not skeletonized the balance issues come from the lightweight handle material. The tang is slightly smaller than the handle dimensions and the lanyard hole lining tube is pushed though a hole in the tang. I honestly don’t know what you could do to break the handle off of this knife. I have 3 different models of the OKC Spec series knives. I am completely impressed with the quality of such a economical knife. The only thing better about a K bar is the steel pommel.
