This is a true Class III Laser, meaning it's brighter than its Class II counterparts. Span long distances with ease - the glass laser lenses will keep your dots looking crisp and bright across your entire job site.

Highest Accuracy

Each laser beam is accurate to 1/8" at 50', for even the most demanding of dot laser layout tasks.

Transfer Reference Points

The easiest way to lay out your ceiling fixtures is to mark them on the floor and use a dot laser to project them onto the ceiling. Save yourself the overhead work and simplify ceiling layout with a dot laser.

Job Layout

Orthogonal layout work can be completed with ease with a dot laser – including fencing, posts, footings, walls, electrical conduit, plumbing lines, sprinklers, and more.

Piping

Set direction and drainage slope using a dot laser and a tape measure. The laser will give you a horizontal reference line to measure from for proper slope angle.

Construction project? Meet your new best friend.

Leveling Up is about achieving a new height and never going back. At Johnson, we see many jobsites today that don't even use traditional bubble levels anymore - they've gone 100% laser. Once out of the price range of all but the largest of contractors, lasers today are as common in the garage as a hammer and drill.

40-0921 self-leveling crossline laser kit

The 40-0921 is simple to use - simply turn the power knob, and the crossline laser self-levels and projects one horizontal and one vertical laser line on the wall. It's that easy. Mount the laser to the included tripod to dial in its height, and spin the laser on its base to set angles. The base has a protractor scale for setting any angle from 0 to 360!

Measure once, cut twice

Or three times. Or more. A crossline laser establishes a constant reference line, eliminating the need for multiple measurements. Installing electrical boxes? Shelving? Cabinets? Avoid repeated measurements - just set the laser and go. With Johnson's crossline laser kit, you'll complete your layout job quicker and more accurately.

Accessories Included

The 40-0921 Crossline Laser includes the accessories you need to easily complete your leveling or layout project, including a tripod and laser enhancement glasses. These specially colored glasses increase the beam's visibility in high ambient lighting.

The tripod telescopes, and the center column extends to reach a maximum height of 47". When not in use, tt collapses to store in the durable blow-molded hard case along with the laser and the glasses.

Tiling

Plumb and level tiles on the wall with laser precision. If you've tiled with chalk lines before, you know how careful you need to be with your tile adhesive so that you don't cover up your chalk line. But lasers simply shine right over the adhesive - so you'll work faster than ever.

Level and Align Cabinets

Hang and level cabinets quickly with a crossline laser. Finding your studs? Use the vertical beam to trace your studs from top to bottom, so you get your screws in the right place, every time.

Hanging Shelving

Shelving without a laser can be tedious and time consuming to ensure your brackets are properly located, the heights are even, and the shelves are aligned properly. Level Up to a crossline laser, and that same project may not require you to make a single alignment mark on the wall. Just find your first stud, set your brackets, and repeat. You'll have perfect plumb and level without ever pulling out a plumb bob, bubble level, or straight edge.

User questions & answers

Question: Does the warranty cover unacceptable quality? ie 3/8 out in 8 feet
Answer: Dimensions are 4-1/4" X 13- 1/2" X 1-1/4". You should be able to store your gun cleaning kit with no problem. Hope this helps!
Question: Are the lasers visible in direct sunlight
Answer: 120Z-12 comes with a finished wooden case and the 120-12 comes in a box/no case.
Question: what is the max distance
Answer: Standard Letter of Certification
Question: Is this unit easy to use
Answer: Yes it comes in a red plastic hard case that is lined with a foam material.
Question: is the lazer point visable outside in shade
Answer: Part, or all, of this caliper is made in China. Welcome to the 21st Century. Starrett does it, too.
Question: what is the maximum distance of the laser beam
Answer: Ron, it should fit just fine. I bought it for a 0-12" Fowler caliper with room to spare.
Question: Can you purchase replacement bubbles for this level
Answer: Tom, the box's outside dimensions are 18"L x 6" W x 1.75" H. For inside dimensions, subtract about 7/8" from length and width. Hope this helps.
Question: is the lazer point visable in bright sunlight
Answer: I just looked at mine. Not sure if the photo has enough detail to show, but both the upper and lower foam paddings have the long rectangular cutout shapes in them; it looks to me like the digital calipers would fit right in, and both sections are also deeper cut. Lots of clearance on both top and bottom pads. It's far more than what's needed for the dial's. The case should most likely work for the digital's. Another cheap plastic box from Starrett? Thought it was too flimsy to keep the dial calipers secure, and too concerned that something would go right through the cheap plastic. It's a sturdy wooden box, the foam inside is firm enough to keep the calipers from sliding around, even though the recessed areas now look to be made for both. The dial's kind of rest on part of the bottom pad. I would think it would be an even better fit for the digitals, tighter and more secure.

Introducing the Johnson EZ-Laser Family

Doing a project without a laser is like going a day without coffee. Sure, you can get by, but it just isn't easy. If you've never used a laser before, it's time to Level Up.

This is the world's most user-friendly family of lasers - a comprehensive lineup consisting of a tiling laser for your flooring projects, a crossline, a crossline with 90° plumb line, a 360° laser with plumb line for your leveling projects, and a 3-dot laser for your plumb and alignment projects.

Together, these lasers allow you to ditch your bubble level for good. Install tile and wood floors; level shelving, photos, and cabinets; install wainscoting; plumb walls; plumb and align posts, walls, and piers; install drop ceilings, windows, TVs, electrical boxes, and conduit; transfer reference points from floor to ceiling for installation of lighting and electrical fixtures; and more. With our EZ-Lasers, the possibilities are endless!

3-Dot Laser

The 3-Dot Laser has three laser lines projecting plumb (up/down) and level (forward) to help you lay out your jobsite. Traditionally used by framers for checking level of subfloors to shim walls, and ensuring the new walls are plumb (perfectly vertical), the dot laser replaces traditional methods using 96" levels and plate levels.

Perform ceiling layout - on the floor

Minimize overhead work, and maximize your productivity with this 3-Dot Laser. It is great for transferring points from the floor to the ceiling. Laying out lights, HVAC, plumbing, or electrical? Mark it out comfortably on the floor, and use the dot laser to transfer your floor points back to the ceiling.

Simple operation

Simply slide the pendulum locking switch to power on the dot laser. It will self level and project three laser beams. If it is out of level, it will flash to alert you. The 3-Dot Laser also has 1/4"-20 threads to be mounted to a tripod to elevate it above your workspace.

Tiling Laser

Tiling lasers were invented for...you guessed it - installing tile! Unlike chalk lines, a laser shows over tile adhesive, meaning your laser lines can't be erased. Level vials also let the tiling laser be used on walls to plumb the vertical tiles.

Tiling lasers are also great for other flooring materials and for checking the square of any two objects, such as in fabricating picture frames or cabinets.

Crossline Laser

The crossline is our most popular laser, and for good reason. It's a jack-of-all trades laser and can complete most tasks on your jobsite with ease. It self-levels and projects one horizontal and one vertical intersecting laser on the wall for layout of shelving, cabinets, and more.

Crossline with 90° Plumb Line Laser

This laser starts as a basic crossline, but adds a second plumb (vertical) beam 90° offset from the first, so that you can complete 90° alignment work of objects such as electrical boxes, fixtures, posts, lights, and more.

360° Laser w/ Plumb Line

This laser starts as a basic crossline, but extends the horizontal beam in a full 360° circle to wrap around the entire perimeter of your room. Great for laying out cabinets, wainscoting, hanging photos or shelving across multiple walls, wall tile, and drop ceilings.

User questions & answers

Question: Would this work for leveling a 24' area in your backyard
Answer: The We8 can use this filter or the larger Clearyl Pro Smart filter.
Question: Can it be mounted at an angle to project a sloped line onto a wall, for example building a stairway
Answer: You have to be careful from what supplier you get it from. Mine did not say claris smart. But I no longer order this from Amazon because of too many counterfeits, I order directly from Juris!
Question: What type of batteries does this use
Answer: To enable the filter and coffee machine to communicate, JURA uses modern RFID technology. Any machine fitted with the intelligent water system (I.W.S.®) recognises when a filter is inserted, automatically switches to filter mode and starts the rinsing process. When the filter capacity is nearly used up the machine prompts the user to change the filter. If the filter is not changed, the machine activates descaling mode. After a certain amount of use, the user is prompted to descale the machine. This can only be done when the filter is removed, so there is no more risk of user error resulting from misunderstandings. * CLEARYL Smart was designed for the following machines with the intelligent water system (I.W.S.®): E6 Z6 E8 E6
Question: How could this product be used to measure slope when grading a yard for a turf installation
Answer: Claris is the EU packaging but the same filter. If you go on the Jura website and select the United Kingdom, the filter is called Clairs. When you select USA, the filter is called Clearyl.

Johnson Laser Detectors

When operating lasers outdoors on large jobsites, you typically can't see the beam. Laser detectors become a mandatory accessory to detect beam height and ensure the accuracy of your work.

Detectors must be chosen based on the color of the laser, the type of laser (line vs. rotary), and the style of detector required. Styles include single sided LED, single and dual style LCD, and machine mountable. All of the detectors shown here are for red beam rotary lasers (635/650nm).

Most Johnson Level detectors feature variable audible tones to tell you if you're too high, too low, or on grade. All detectors have a visual indicator to show you high/low/on grade, but the type of indicator varies by model. Read on to choose the perfect detector for your new Johnson laser!

Model #40-6715 Dual-Sided Detector with LCD Display

Accurately detects laser beam (635/650nm) signals from rotary lasers. This detector features:

-LED Display: Three LED's light up to alert on grade / too high / too low.

-Audible Alert: The detector will beep when a laser signal is found but is too high or too low. The LED's will indicate which direction to move the detector to find grade. A solid tone will indicate when the detector is on grade.

-Low Battery Indicator: The detector will perform a battery check at startup and alert you to a low battery or exhausted battery.

-The accuracy of this detector is not adjustable, and is:

= 0.06" for distances < 165'.

= 0.10" for distances > 165'.

Grading

The 40-6715 dual sided display detector's LCD display shows on grade/high/low and lets the operator read either side of the detector for convenience. The detector accuracy can be reduced for rough work like this excavation or increased for fine work such as setting walls or posts.

Excavation / Site Prep

Here the 40-6535 laser is shown paired to the 40-6791 machine mountable detector. Super-strong rare earth magnets secure it, making placement on any steel surface simple. On this skid steer, the contractor located the detector on the boom arm because the boom arm moves roughly 1:1 with the bucket, but some contractors prefer to put it on the bucket directly. The choice is yours; regardless of where you locate it, installation is simple and pairing it with the 40-6792 remote display lets the operator see the display inside the cab.

Checking Floor Height

This contractor was building a bus repair terminal and just finished the exterior block walls. Concrete was coming in the next day, and they were using Johnson Level lasers and detectors to complete one final check of floor height prior to the concrete pour. The floors all had to have a specific slope for drainage, and Johnson Level's dual-slope rotaries and rotary detectors provided a simple way to complete this layout.

With our EZ-Lasers, the possibilities are endless!

360° Laser with Plumb Line

This laser builds off the standard crossline laser, adding a full 360° wrap to the horizontal beam. The result is two independently controllable lasers, one perfectly vertical and the other perfectly horizontal, while wrapping every wall of your workspace in a full 360° circle of laser light.

Do more, faster

The advantage of the 360° laser is to establish one horizontal reference line across the entire room in one shot. Compared to a crossline laser, this can save you time when your project spans over more than one wall, such as installing cabinets, wainscoting, shelving, and more, because there is no need to re-establish your reference height on each wall. The 360° laser is also the best way to install drop ceilings, because unlike a rotary, the 360° laser’s beam does not spin, but is constantly on.

Manual mode for angled use

Don’t want it level? This laser can be used at any angle you’d like with the pendulum locked. Pair it with our 40-6796 tripod, and you can tilt the laser for non-level layout applications, like stair layout, stepped shelving, and more!

This laser starts as a basic crossline, but adds a second plumb (vertical) beam 90° offset from the first, so that you can complete 90° alignment work of objects such as electrical boxes, fixtures, posts, lights, and more.

3-Dot Laser

This laser projects three laser dots - two plumb (vertical) and one horizontal. Dot lasers were first used to plumb walls as an alternate to bubble levels and plumb bobs, but now their versatility is well known - align and level posts, piping, and conduit; check level of flooring prior to building walls; and set proper slope of drain pipe. Finally, our favorite use: layout sprinkler, lights, and other ceiling fixtures directly on your floor, and transfer the points to the ceiling using the dot laser!
