Answer:	I can't recall. It was flat packed and I believe the dimensions are about the same as the side panel of the step stool.

Answer:	It is not made from any composite wood materials. I own one it's made from solid oak. It's well constructed, durable and attractive. You only have to pick it up to realize there's nothing fake about it. As far as I'm concerned it's an editor's descriptive error.

Answer:	It is a wood dowel that appears to have metal posts in the ends. Works very well.

It is very light and I'm a girly weakling with no arm muscles. I love this ladder! We have high ceilings, and now I don't have to get my husband to change light bulbs, I can do it all by myself. The ladder is super easy to fold and unfold and it's very sturdy. I highly recommend this ladder!

Answer:	I have only used the ladder with shoes on, but have had no problems with slipping on any of the steps. The ladder is aluminum, but is well made and has been extremely stable when used on a flat surface. It is a little narrower than our previous ladder, which could be an issue if you are a large person. We haven't had the ladder long enough to honestly assess its longevity, but if properly taken care of, it should last a long time.
