Answer:	I would strongly encourage you not to. You'll have to add an electrical cord and plug which will hang down and there isn't an exit on the lamp's flange to provide for a cord hanging down - so you'll have to tolerate a cord bumping the lamp out unless you're prepared to cut a notch into the flange to accomadate the cord. As the fixture is designed now- hardware it and you'll love it!

Answer:	I bought a used one on here so I'm not sure. However, I have never had a rubber washer that was installed between the shower head and pipe. I have always wrapped the threads on the pipe with Teflon tape.
