Answer:	They are able to withstand heavy rain and direct sunlight, good for outdoor use.

Answer:	To tell you the truth I don’t know. I decorated my windows for Christmas and they work perfectly. Then took down for next years. I’m so sorry I don’t know the answer to your question

Answer:	All I had to do was aim at the strand of lights and they worked. Actually when a few of the strands were close to each other they responded to the remote at the same time. Works well

Answer:	Sorry, due to the many different variations listed on the item page, I am unable to help you very much. However the model I bought had a small box that holds 3 AA batteries, and has a switch for off/timer/constant on. I looked to see if I could determine which one has a remote and if it has a timer, but I don't think they do, just an on/off setting.
