Question:	Does the acurite 06014 work with a 01036a1 display? my current exterior weather sensor goes through batteries in a week
Answer:	It only updates every 18 seconds. That's just crazy. Do you know how often the wind changes in 18 seconds ? So the accuracy is a totally zero !! You may step out your door into 30 mile an hour winds but your display shows only 6 miles an hour. Other than that, yep it displays the wind speed albeit from who knows when.
Question:	Can I pair this with Alexa
Answer:	Riley, we have the sensor about 40 feet away from the receiver. My husband mounted the sensor on top of an 8 foot board at the edge of the deck which is 7 feet above the ground to get wind speed, too. It works very well.
Question:	Will this unit handle winter weather
Answer:	Yes, but not as bad as some other units. 5-6 degrees versus 20 degrees.
Question:	Does this need to be mounted on a pole
Answer:	It is very easy. The sensor needs to be 5ft off the ground minimum, in an open area away from buildings and roads (anything that will interfere with wind flow and temperature). We mounted ours on a 6ft pole in our backyard and it works great. Also keep in mind how shade can affect temperature readings. Basically the further away from shade, ground, buildings, and roads is the way to go. And no roof mounts because shingles absorb heat. The description of the product gives you the diameter of an acceptable "pole". Higher the better. The sensor has a lock bolt that allows you to mount it on any pvc, steel, aluminum, or iron pole to the specified diameter. The instruction booklet of this product goes into great detail of where and how to mount the sensor. Again, very easy. This was a gift to my meteorology major wife, and she loves it. Question:	Is there a way to upload data wirelessly, via a wifi link, to weather underground, for instance
Answer:	I have a Raspberry PI running weewx that allows me to send data to Weather Underground. My "indoor" display has a USB connector that I cable up to the Raspberry PI, and the PI transfers the data via wifi to my wireless router and then over the Internet to Weather Underground. Weewx *might* have options to send to other weather services but I'm not sure. Since weewx is written in Python it may also run on other hardware besides the PI but again I'm not sure if that is the case.

Answer:	Hello fitz, Model 06014 is only the 5in1 sensor. This does not come with a display to monitor the station. Model 01512 has both a display and the 5in1 sensor. Model 01512 will come with a single solar panel on the sensor and 06014 is a dual PRO+ sensor. A PRO+ is recommended in areas that are excessively sunny to provide more power to the aspirating fan on the inside of the sensor. Answer:	It is not wireless. But you can buy a wireless device from there website but it is expensive.
Question:	Does the USB have to plug into the monitor? If so, can I purchase an additional monitor? Is there a model that has a rain guage but is wireless? I don't want to have to stick the monitor in the computer room, but I want to be able to check on my iphone... Any suggestions
Answer:	You have to plug the USB into your computer if you want to update actively online, and you can purchase as many monitors as you want. If you didn't want to have to plug it into your computer, you'd have to get the Bridge unit off the Acurite website to upload directly through your router.
Question:	Does the 01036 give the high and low temperatures of the day
Answer:	Yes, it does. For us, the high temperature is overstated because the unit is in an open, unshaded area, and we live in a warm climate. I don't like the fact that the rain, wind and temperature gauges are all in one unit, because for rain and wind, the unit needs to be in the open, but that means the temperature ends up showing too hot because it's in the sun. Right now it's 69, per my old gauge that's in the shade, and per my phone app and the radio, but the AcuRite says it's 88, which is far off.
Question:	Can I add the bridge unit to this unit
Answer:	From what I've found, you have to order the bridge unit separately directly from AcuRite. I got this as a gift for someone and it pisses me off that you need an EXTRA piece of equipment to get your info on your computer, tablet or smartphone. AcuRite definitely should have included that tidbit in their info about this product.

You don’t need to worry about the sun giving false readings because of where the outdoor thermometer is located on the unit. I find the wind and temperature reading to be very accurate.

Question:	Replacing batteries on a roof-mounted unit is a pain. I have power there, so can it be modified easily
Answer:	You can convert "anything" battery powered to a AC converted application. Just match your voltage and amperage and seal the hole wire comes through. Easy. Just find a wall wart to match, solder additional lead wires, as required for length. Heat shrink the soldered connection. Given the 4 AA required, and I don't have this unit, my guess is something 5-6 volts with about 800 -1000 mA would work, just check the stats on it.
Question:	I know the manual says batteries in the display are for backup only, but does anyone know about how long it can survive on batteries
Answer:	I bought mine in 2016 & just had to change the batteries today 2/28/2020
Question:	What is the maximum distance between the outside unit and the display? Does the sensor need to be in the shade
Answer:	The distance is 330 ft. However be careful where you place the display from the station. Walls and other things can weaken the signal. It depends on what your house is made of. My house is primarily wood. The signal has no problem reaching the other end of my house (about 150 ft I believe). Also don't place the display near computers or radios or other electronic devices. It can cause interference with your station. Now the outside station it self is does not need shading. I actually recommend you place the station as high as possible (like on a pole on your roof, if you can't, place it no lower than 5ft-6ft from the ground) This ensures that your wind readings are accurate. The thermometer and hydrometer sensors are in the sensor and a internal fan circulates air past the sensors from outside, allowing the temperature readings to stay normal in the sun. Also make sure that station is in a wide open area with nothing around the sensor that could block the wind reaching the station. Typically I would say 50 ft from obstacles but I'm not sure how close. A lot of writing a know but hope this helps you!

Answer:	I'm not sure what the prg126 is, but the PCR800 only works with Professional Weather Stations. The temperature sensor will work with other O.S. wireless units, but the rainsensor isn't compatable.

Answer:	No it will not. It will only work with the new RGR126N. I recently bought one to use with the old RGR126 I had and it did not work. I wound up returning it and buying a new RGR126N system.

Answer:	There is a small hole on all three marked "reset," It takes a stiff wire to push in to reset. The gauge and temperature sensor should be reset before resetting the monitor. All should be reset after changing the batteries in all three.

Answer:	i have found that this product never lasts more then a year, no matter what you do.... i love the product, will probably buy it again, but after having had numerous (4 maybe?) they all break in 1-2 seasons..... and here in the pacific northwest, sometimes it's snow, sometimes it's rain... if you can't leave it outside in the weather why have a weather system? but even so.... it has not always frozen, we've had winters where it hasn't snowed at all and it still broke....

Answer:	Hi Margaret: although we usually get 7-10 days of below-freezing nights here in my location, we get no snow. Sorry I can't be of more help. Unless you want to measure the snow as it melts, the unit is easy to move. I keep my lashed to a cinder block, but even so, I can move it if need be. Perhaps a little wooden square could be made for it, like a tissue box holder, but with an opening on top the same size as the rain collector? Then the unit would be safe while still being able to collect snow accumulation. Good luck!

Question:	when will the lightning sensor be fixed? It shows 100's of lightning strikes when it sunny and clear, and I am using Alkaline batteries
Answer:	There is a wire routing issue in some early units that causes the asperating fan to activate the lightning sensor. I had to send mine in for it. It sucks to send it in, but they paid shipping and the fix is covered under warranty.

That means (as long as your Hub has power) you can still see data from your station through the app if your Internet connection goes down. If power to the Hub is lost, the AIR & SKY devices will continue to collect and store data, sending it along once power is restored.

Answer:	If you are able to mount the SKY above nearby objects you will get a better wind fetch. However, it's important to keep the mount and mast sturdy, free from vibrations as any motion will be detected as rain by the haptic sensor which can become pronounced in strong winds on unstable mounts.

Answer:	Yes the station kit includes a solar panel accessory! The solar panel's rechargeable battery should last approximately 5 years. On a full charge, the battery in the solar panel will provide power to the SKY unit for about 30 days in full overcast conditions. AA batteries are not supposed to be used in tandem with the solar panel accessory. SKY can use 8 AA batteries or the solar panel accessory. The AIR unit requires 4 AA batteries.

Answer:	Hello LK NorthStar, Yes, the alarms can be turned off on this model. The alarms are programmable. Each selectable weather category features an alarm option. When an alarm sounds, the display emits audible beeping and flashes the affected category, its alarm settings, and any other relevant data. Alarms can be customized to alert you when your programmed value is reached. The self-emptying rain collector measures rainfall and wirelessly transmits the data to the digital display. View historical rainfall totals for the previous 48 hours, 7 days, by month, year and previous year.

Outdoor Temperature and Humidity

The current outdoor temperature and humidity measurements are shown with a 'trend arrow' that indicates whether readings are rising, falling or stable. High and low records show the maximum and minimum measurements recorded since midnight.

Illuminated Color Display

The illuminated color display features three different brightness settings, ensuring you can easily read the information you want at a glance. Select a lighting preference manually, or choose Auto Dim Mode. In Auto Dim Mode, the display automatically adjusts its brightness based on time of day.
